Staying in this hotel is truly a shock to me. I was assigned to a non-smoking room that was so smoky that I had to request a switch. Then another guest got in with his key in the middle of our staying! The hotel asks for ID of every and each guests/visitors! And the $100 dollars cash deposit for each room. Breakfast is provided but the poorest you can imagine. There was no egg, no fruits! No recommendations for anyone to go there, you will be regret if you try.

I give the place -10 STARS. We were not impressed. We ended up forfeiting our Money 💰. There is a $100.00 deposit per room, and yeah, they are not worth it. Seedy part of town. We had a concert to go to, so we checked in- they have you wait in a small room that is like 100°F, a little slit to communicate with the service desk lady, yeah they lock 🔒 the door 🚪 after 3 or 4 pm. Anyhoo, we went to check the rooms out, and then had to leave for the concert. We were running behind, and I am not familiar with this Area at all. Long story short I DO NOT RECOMMEND! We decided to get another Hotel 🏨 in South Jordan. The Sleep Inn, cheaper, and 100% nicer- with no deposit!

If I could give this a negative star rating, I would! I booked a room with a king bed that was supposed to have a chair in it for our elderly grandmother. (She cannot sleep laying down.) We walked into the first room and it was filthy. The beds weren't made, the room smelt awful, the mirrors looked as if they had been spit on, and there were crumbs on the floor. So we went to the lobby and they put us in a new room. The second room was "cleaner" but it also smelt disgusting. The room we got put in had two double beds (he obviously didn't look to make sure he was giving us a comparable room) The air conditioner did not work, the bathtub was filthy and black, it looked like mold was growing. And to top it all off, after deciding to stay elsewhere, they still charged our card for the room the next day and would not issue a refund. The staff was very, very rude. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Visitors beware!!! Fake pictures online. The room is a roach motel and staff doesn't clean. The towels are dirty so I went out and brought my own. Wear shower shoes because the tub is filthy the toilet wasn't clean. We slept on top of the covers. The walls are covered in dirt. Read all the 1 star reviews. $100 deposit is ridiculous when my car is nicer that this nasty room. I had to buy air fresheners to kill the stuffy smell. We were immediately disappointed and will never stay at another trash bag Econo Lounge! They deserve Two thumbs down and a bucket of tomatoes!!

When I checked in I was told a $100 cash deposit was required. This is not mentioned on their website anywhere. The room is filthy, garbage was on the floor. Refrigerator had food from previous occupant. Mold visible in the bathroom. Ceiling in bathroom was cracking. Toilet not working properly and very noisy. Very rude office help.

This place needs to be shut down. The filthiest and sketchiest place I've ever paid money to stay at before. I wish I could get a refund. Nasty rooms, trash and stains everywhere. Required surprise $100 cash deposit on check in. Broken furniture. The place wreaked of cigarettes, the lobby looked insane, complimentary breakfast - yeah right. There was a bed bug trap in open sight on the floor with a bed bug in it. The pool looked like you'd catch a disease dipping a toe in it. Absolutely disgusting of a place. Do not stay here. If you must, take pictures of everything to make sure you get your deposit back.

Excellent location half-way between airport and downtown and next to the train station! Management has quite a few rules, likely due to their bad experience with certain guests. Just to warn future guests to look at point 10 of their rules - a charge for damaged and stained towels. Most towels in our room were damaged and stained when we checked-in. We returned them, but did not get replacement. Is this a way to earn extra $ hoping that guests don't notice such towels? Other reason we couldn't take shower if you can see the pic of their bathtub - I don't know anyone brave enough to step in there. The room was dirty in visible areas.

Booked a room online. The incredibly rude front desk attendant tells me she needs $100 cash as a deposit. I tell her that the site said nothing about that when I booked. She tells me that's their policy and points to a terrible printout when I ask to see it in writing. She would not converse with me about anything without me handing her cash and turned away. Will be disputing this with my bank. Also, the location is terrible and it looks like the people that patron that are not much better. Tiny lot with not much parking full of trashy people blasting music and a car of cops just hanging out.

The place is old and not well kept. It could be ok if it was clean but unfortunately it’s not. Our bed spread and blanket had burns and the sheets had black stains. Lampshades where broken. Coffee maker in the room was missing parts. The bathroom door had been kicked off the hinges, so it was just hanging there. They asked for the $100 cash deposit. The staff was nice but there is only so much they can do I guess. I would not stay again or recommend it to anyone.

***DO NOT BOOK HERE*** ***DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM*** I drove for about 5 hours. I got in a little after 10pm. I booked my room through the credit card rewards portion of my online banking. The reservation appeared to be good. I show up and the front desk guy, who didn't appear all there, told me I needed to give him $100 CASH. I offered to provide my credit card to reserve a hold in case of damages. He demanded $100 cash. He said it is in the reservation email. When we scrolled through my email confirmation, there was NOTHING about a $100 cash requirement. I didn't have cash, just got done driving for 5 hours and it is past 10pm. I pleaded with the guy to give me my room key so I could lay down and rest. He wouldn't budge. He didn't care at all about the inconvenience he was causing me. No sense for Customer Service. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel! I stayed at another hotel a mile or two away. Truly Unbelievable!

This hotel requires a $100 cash deposit which was not stated when I booked this room. I had a lovely pool view room, which overlooked a green pool not even close to sanitary for swimming. The bathroom was covered in ants. My recommendation is to think twice before staying here. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

The best thing about this hotel is that the water pressure is good. The staff was kind, but it all goes downhill from there. The rooms were dirty, hadn't even been vacuumed. Holes in the walls, locks on the doors did not work consistently. They've tried to paint over the mold in the bathroom. Not enough towels. When we went to check in they required a $100 CASH deposit per room. There was no notification of this when we booked the rooms. Fortunately I had some cash with me. We were in the area for a cattle show at the State Fair. All we wanted was a place to sleep at night and a hot shower. We got that and nothing more.

This place is such a scam…We ended up having to stay here due to a storm… the first room smelled like cigarettes even though there are signs all over that say no smoking and a so called $250 charge for doing so. The heater didn’t work as well, which seems like something you would need in a town that gets snow. So we were able to switch to another room that didn’t smell as bad as the first one and the heater worked..But this room didn’t have a microwave…Even though the website said rooms with microwaves.. we didn’t find out until we got a room with no microwave that there is no guarantee of one in your room… The were shady characters walking around the parking lot and the rooms were dirty and smelly do not stay here if you can avoid it!!

Awful experience! Save your money! Yes it's close to downtown and budget friendly, but that comes at a BIG loss in comfort. You'll need a $100 CASH deposit at check in, no exceptions. The staff is relatively unhelpful. Upon entering the room, the main light wouldn't turn on and we only had the bedside lamps. The rooms are pretty trashed, our keys stopped working on our second day. The AC is messed up and too loud to allow for sleep. There are gross spots on the walls, ceiling, and bathroom floor. Stained linens and towels, uncomfortable bed and pillows. The sink faucet was broken and the floor was scratched up and sketchy looking. To top it off, out door didn't latch properly and we got back to our door partway open. If you have the money to go elsewhere, or get a cheap place further away, do it!

I can't give this dump any stars for the "room". No TV remote (which didn't matter because the cable box was toast). The A/C sounded like it lost a bearing a while ago. Cigarette burns in the bedspreads (non smoking room). The parking lot had a couple different parties that looked like they live in cars when not here. There was even a BBQ where they were using chairs from the rooms to lounge in. The worst part was that there's NO INTERNET! As a biz traveler, this is as important as having a bed!

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. They make you pay a $100 cash deposit which isn't stated when you reserve the room, the room was so nasty I couldn't believe it. Holes in the carpet, plugs not working, dirty sink, dirty tub, sink was clogged and cracked, shower worked one day then not the next, wires and plug sockets hanging out of the wall, mattress was so uncomfortable and it was leaning so we slept facing the other way, no pool, homeless people everywhere, I'm sure there's more im not thinking of right now, but this place needs to be shut down asap. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Zero stars . Bed bugs !!!!!!!!!!!! Overflowing toilet Sticky floors My sheets were not cleaned. Hair all over my sheets and dirt and what i believe was blood stains on the sheet . No warning about the construction next to the hotel . Looks like blood on walls as well Horrible smell in room Says non smoking room , but smoke burns all over cover / blanket Also says you will be charged if any towels are stained . ALL THIER TOWLES ARE DISGUSTING WITH RANDOM STAINS ON THEM . over all DISGUSTING . DO NOT BOOK HERE Not worth the money . I would pay the extra hundred or so for a Better CLEANER hotel .

Incredibly dirty hotel overall, dirty staircases, dirty pool. But most importantly of all, incredibly dirty room. The sheets had stains, little pieces of chips in them, and they stank. Same with towels, stains and stinky. After we complained we got one bottom and one top sheet for the bed as well as one towel, for both of us, me and my wife. On top of that they want cash deposit of $100 and do not accept credit cards, like it is the 1980’s. Staff are rude and not helpful. It seems they do not expect any decent person to stay there and treat their guests as criminals. And on top of that it was not cheap, I booked for $100 including taxes for 1 night, which to be fair was Saturday night during long weekend.

This place was absolutely disgusting!! The first person I dent with was rude as soon as she walked to the window. After being on the road all day, I was not expecting to have someone so unfriendly right of the bat. I get everyone has bad days, but as a customer service person as well, it was totally uncalled for. A smile and a little less attitude would make things go smoother. The room was just unimaginably dirty. It was like walking into a elderly person's home that smoked every day, all day long. The bathroom was tar yellow with burn stains on the toilet and the shower. The towels were two different colors, yellow and dirt gray. The mattresses had the springs warn in them so bad you could feel each one. AND the TV and half the room's plug-ins didn't work, nor did the light switch. The only positive experience out of this stay was the morning office lady. She was super nice and friendly. She is the only reason I feel remotely comfortable giving it a 1 star. Will not stay here again. Terrible place for Choice Hotel to sponsor.

The worst check in experience ever. And, despite advertised, there is NO breakfast and NO pool. It is important to also note the construction in the same parking lot. $100 CASH deposit. Yup, cash. The bathroom door is broken and won't shut, and the shower doesn't turn on. This is a terrible hotel. Don't stay here. You have better options nearby.

Denied our $100 deposit after having our close friend & ride around SLC came into our room. Gabby the “supervisor” claimed the deposit could not be returned due to COVID restrictions on guests, however had no problem when I showed her the pictures of the BLACK air filters in our room that looked like they’ve never been cleaned or replaced in the room. Clearly our health is not the least bit of their concern, just miserable people who wanted to find any way to scam girls out of money. Filled a report with their corporate offices and the better business bureau & am expecting a full refund for the room & the deposit.

I would give it a 0 if I could. No where on the site does it say it's 100 cash deposit. CASH. We paid for our room and they took the money and then when we checked in they told us. They also said if we need a late check out it's 25 dollars. I'm pregnant and have a little one in my car. This was all I could afford and now have no where to go and the money won't even begin to be reimbursed until sometime Monday. Don't stay here. Pay the extra 10 to stay somewhere else. Very disappointed in this place.

My experience has been one of surprise AND of complete awe..... not only because the present owners have this particular site well on its way to becoming one of Salt Lake City's finer places for a very clean and spacious lodging that can easily compare to quite a few lodgings throughout the Great state of Utah. Also, it is my understanding now that the Econo Lodge will be serving a fine Continental Breakfast very soon! So why not just take a little trip down and see for yourself...... this end of Salt Lake City (North Temple) has not looked so well in quite some time...... remember, Don't expect perfection... just be delighted in the improvements! Have one need heck of a Great Day, Folks!

Stayed here 14 December 2021. Had to think about what I would put for a review. First I agree with most all of the previous reviews. the service is not great, mandatory $100 cash only deposit was a little unexpected. The rooms, the rooms were terrible. Also tub did not drain, light hanging from the ceiling with exposed wires, AC unit was missing parts. It's cheap. On the bright side I got my whole $100 deposit back.be sure to read the list of rules that will cost you some of your deposit. Also it is the not so great side of town, wouldn't hang around here with my kids. but if you walk to the other side of the highway, over the bridge, much nicer.

The worst place I've ever stayed. $100 cash deposit, for TV remote, on top of credit card required for room. Id's required for entire party. Shower mixer valve broken ...no hot water. TV didn't work...but I got a remote!!! Lamps shades shredded floor lamp looked like someone drove, over it, smoke detector hanging from ceiling. There was a bed frame bracket protruding from under the bed that I hit my leg on many times. Bedding questionable. Had to rewash my feet after my shower to put my socks and shoes on because the floor was so dirty. Do not reccomend!!!

1 star is generous. Absolutely disgusting. We are traveling across country and chose a cheaper hotel with decent reviews, booked through Expedia. This hotel needs to be condemned. We found underwear in the pullout couch, nail polish splattered on things, dirty disgusting bathroom and mystery stains on our mattress and all over the walls. Paid in cash and tried getting our money back and the guy working told us to come back another time as if we’re not traveling. We will definitely be reporting to Expedia and possibly the health department because this place is ridiculous ! Absolutely horrid ! You should be ashamed you are scamming travelers out of their money because their websites pictures are fabricated.

Able to check-in 30 min early. So far…Room is what you get for the price. Some of the electrical outlets loose. One of the outlets burned out. Stains on the ottoman. No remote for the TV. One of the lamps have no bulb. Room is in need renovations. Shower has strong water flow.
