One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Valet parking, so bring a few dollars for a tip. We were there after sunset but the grounds looked gorgeous with a waterfall across the street. We were tentative about eating here since it seemed much nicer than most restaurants in the west. We found the experience quite comfortable. Though some diners were dressed up, others came in comfortable wear. We were seated quickly (reservations required). Our waiter was excellent. Service was quick but well-paced. Everything we ate was amazing. The alpine nachos were incredible. I uncharacteristically ordered a vegetarian dish and it was divine. Of course, a large bill was unsurprising. For the normal American, this should be reserved for special occasions. That being said, do yourself a favor and try it out!

Best restaurant experience I have had in a long time! Every member of the staff was kind and knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations when helping us choose our meals. This restaurant has a very high class atmosphere in a beautiful setting. The flavors of every dish were refined and unique. The bison steak was so flavorful and like something I have never had before. The alpine nachos were amazing and every dessert was well crafted and not just overly sweet. So glad I was able to come to this restaurant. Truly the definition of fine dining! Plan ahead because reservations fill up quickly!

I was visiting friends in Salt Lake City that my husband and I went to college at the University of Utah. I requested that we have dinner at Log Haven since we haven’t seen it since 1972. It was better than I remembered it. It was beautiful inside and out. I appreciated the ambience now more than I did when I was 18. The decor is beautiful and a warm comfortable place to dine. We have a room that felt like our own. We had a view of the patio and the rest of the restaurant. The food was very good, there were 7 people and we all loved our meals. When we visit again we will definitely visit Log Haven again. Great venue, there was a wedding going on across the street which is part of Log Haven, then the wedding party had their reception in the restaurant on one of their patios.

I would have given this place five stars, but the bench I was sitting on was super-uncomfortable. It was fine dining seated on a picnic bench. Given the bench lines much of the perimeter of the restaurant against the windows with coveted views, your chances of getting seated on it are pretty high. Beyond that, the atmosphere, pricing, and service were very high class. Everyone seated around us was celebrating an anniversary. It's doubtful many normal people go here on date night. The food is delicious. Compliments to the chef! The Korean cauliflower appetizer was wonderful. I had the salmon and my date had the halibut. I was very pleased, but she could have lived without the Asian fish sauce flavor. If you want fine dining and service at its best, Log Haven will deliver. If money is at all a concern, save up a couple hundred bucks and splurge.

🫶🌈🫶 Support Local The logs of this charming cabin were imported from Oregon and originally was a hide away home given as an wedding anniversary gift in 1920. Log Haven, founded by Margo Provost in March of 1994 - rated as one of the most romantic places to dine in the US. From Date night to wedding venue - Log Haven is an absolute MUST in the SLC area! Executive Chef, Dave Jones, has created a no miss menu of the finest cuisine. Atmosphere is cozy and romantic 💖

Wonderful venue for a wedding! Intimate reception setting, room for a live quartet. Full service buffet meal. 4 courses. This is not the ordinary event booking. If you want a good specific event, I recommend checking out Log Haven

It is truly a one of a kind experience. With an interesting history of perseverance. They have knowledgeable staff. Food that 5 stars isn't enough for and free valet which is essential given they're location. Enjoy, Jonathan

The server we had was amazing. We were a party of 5 celebrating my birthday and we had the best time. The food was really good. We all left craving for bigger portions, and you will see from the pictures we ordered a lot. Nice place for intimate dinners, and the drive out there is interesting, especially for Utah visitors like us.

We dined at Log Haven recently and found the food to be decent, rating it a 7 out of 10. However, I was slightly disappointed by upcharges for simple items such as dinner rolls, which are typically complimentary at fine dining establishments. On the bright side, the restaurant's location in the canyons above the Salt Lake Valley offered a breathtaking setting that added to the overall dining experience.

First time and it was so good! Highly recommend the pork dish. Probably one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. Perfect restaurant for a nice romantic evening. We left so impressed! Can’t wait to be back.

This restaurant is seriously not to be missed!! One of the finest meals I've ever had. I was so happy to take my family here. We had never been here before. The drive up was so lovely. The location & ambience were absolutely stunning. We are not very well off so we don't really dress up as we lack the inventory - we came as we were and everyone was so welcoming. The food was truly excellent. Incredible service, great portion sizes for the price. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to return.

A true joy and pleasure every time! Their food and service is NEVER second best! They accommodate Gluten-Free requests and are happy to discuss food sensitivities. All of the staff are knowledgeable, kind, and above and beyond helpful. These are people who Love what they do and enjoy sharing their passion and artistry in food and service. My highest recommendations and honors! Try the mouthwatering Elk and Chicken! Mindblowing flavors, textures, and presentation.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is unbeatable. Drive about 15 mins up to the mountain. Along the way you feel you are in the Santa’s world. Came inside everything just so beautiful. I love the food they have very strong mountain area’s food. Which in my opinion just slightly heavier than other area. And lots of interesting combo with the food. In this restaurant you can have fun food but also traditional food. At this place I tried bison steak for the first time. Still need time to adjust it the flavor. But other than the new thing I just tried out everything else is wonderful. Please come here and enjoy different dinning experience.

Date night. I would hate to give it 4 stars. It was 4 1/2. The only thing that wasn’t stellar was the Risotto. The depth of flavor was slightly lacking. It could of used an extra note or 2 of spice/flavor. What made be take a 1/2 point though was the Risotto was salty for my palate and I love salt. The Alpine Nacho appetizer was the highlight for me and a must have. I live in Texas so I’m disappointed they’re not in my area. I would go back and just have that! My husband had the Grilled Pork Chop. It was amazing and had a beautiful array of wonderful flavors and textures. I had their non-alcoholic drink Pink Passion…ah-mazing! The hubby had the red wine that was made especially for Log Haven and he really enjoyed it. Our service from Cynthia was impeccable. The other staff seemed equally pleasant. The pianist was a nice touch. It was a great experience and would seem incredibly petty to take away from their ratings. I hate I didn’t notice the waterfall across the street until we were leaving. My pictures don’t do it justice as it was dusk when we left. Also, valet parking and entrance to the National Reserve that the restaurant is on is complimentary. Thanks Log Haven for a great date night dining experience.

Five stars, if there were ten to give it would get ten. Simply the highest quality. Absolutely love the outdoor and indoor atmosphere, the attentive staff, and of course the delicious plates. The Alpine Nachos are a must in our book. Get the brussel sprouts...even if you don't like them, you'll like these. At our table we had the beef, bison and elk...all cooked perfectly. And the huckleberry sorbet is really fantastic, as is the chocolate cake. Go and enjoy!

Very nice setting and food but be ready for a bill. Though I have to say worth it. The food was outstanding as were the drinks. Service was excellent and they have dog days on Tuesdays and Thursdays where you can sit outside with your pup. Reservations are likely needed.

Located inside the canyon, surrounded by trees and waterfalls, amazing views. Both food and service are top-notch. Our waiter is a decent gentleman, making the dining experience very comfortable and pleasant. An amazing experience on a special day!

We were visiting family in Salt Lake City and took everyone to dinner. This was a first visit to Log Haven for us and for our SLC family. Beautiful waterfall next to the restaurant for picture taking before dinner. Atmosphere is amazing with an interesting history of the building (written on the menu). Food excellent! Service excellent! Very memorable and enjoyable dinner.

I'm sure it's been reviewed a million times, but this place is so good. It's everything you hope it will be, a true fine dining experience. Our waiter was amazing. The food was amazing. The views, the atmosphere, the whole experience - absolutely amazing. We had the elk and the bison, as well as the grilled quail appetizer and the creme brulee. All I can say about it all is that it has to be tried to be believed.

We dined here for our 40th anniversary. The atmosphere was really nice with the restaurant nestled in a forest/canyon setting and beautiful views of a waterfall. The food was somewhat unremarkable. I had a coffee-crusted elk steak that was served over a bed of grilled carrots and yams. The steak was not very flavorful or warm. My wife had a salmon plate that tasted like someone was trying too hard to make it unique, which was a distraction from the salmon. I only mention this because the price point is quite high (and we are not price sensitive) and we expected more memorable fare.

Log Haven was a good place to have a nice meal while in Salt Lake City. It’s tough to find vegetarian options at finer dining establishments, which is why we chose Log Haven. The service was awesome. So were the views. It’s nestled up in a canyon area. There was easy valet parking. The gochujang cauliflower was a great appetizer, perfectly cooked and great flavor. The mixed green salad was really yummy but over dressed. The pork was a bit over cooked and dry, could have done without the tortilla strips on the plate. The gnocchi/dumpling in the roasted hen of the wood dish was burnt and the dish needed to be wiped before served, great mushroom. You can tell the ingredients this place uses is top notch. We had a rhubarb crumble that was okay, the plating was very basic and texture was a bit off, flavor was good. I wished the few things mentioned were done right and this place would have been closer to 5 stars. All in all we enjoyed our night out, but likely will not go back if we are in the area again.

Beautiful setting in Millcreek Canyon surrounded by the green trees and waterfalls. The food was good as well! The Alpine Nachos are one of the best nachos I’ve ever eaten. The portions are generous. I personally think you’re really paying for the views and ambiance more than the food. It was pricey but the service was amazing and we will definitely make a trip back for views alone!
