It was built from 1874 to 1970s. It is also known as the former St Brigids Convent. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

This church is absolutely gorgeous with amazing, genuine people who are filled with compassion, kindness and love. The preists are amazing as well all volunteers Church is so beautiful, we go here where weekend and leave feeling so much better....

Beautiful Cathedral , I have been away from Church for quite a few years back I intend to go every week . Even if you are not Religious it's a beautiful piece of Ipswich history and well worth visiting . Who knows , after you have visited you might start worshipping yourself .

Absolutely beautiful the church. Enjoyed the Christmas Mass from 2022. Hope to come out to Ipswich to come to Mass more often as possible.
