Great staff, very good food, reminds me of old-fashioned diners from where I grew up. I got the veggie omelette and it was great. Potatos had a lot of flavor as well! I’ll come back for sure.

Very impressed with the food and the customer service! I ordered to-go (via phone) and they took my order with precision and were very diligent about accommodating for dairy allergy. The food was excellent with large portions and a good value. I will definitely go back!

So good- this place is solid, quality food at great prices! Service is super friendly and the decor is simple , bright and clean. I had the top sirloin steak with garlic mash and my husband had the ribeye with a loaded baked potato with real bacon. Steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare. Both meals were served with sautéed zucchini, broccoli, carrots and onions! This will be one of regular haunts for sure!

We came here after visiting a nearby business and decided to get something to eat. This restaurant had just done a soft opening and we wanted to give it a try. Initially the expectation was for a diner setting. But instead it felt more like a waiting room at a doctor office. But this really wasn’t a huge issue. The food and service make up for the lack of diner styling the place has. Our server was amazing and fast with the good. I ordered the chili and salmon. Both were fairly good, but nothing happens extraordinary. There were several other good looking menu options. It’s absolutely a place that is still opening and learning how they want their path to continue. A change of atmosphere and some more work on the types of dishes and this place will be great. I’m excited to come back in the future.

My husband and I brought our 3 kids here. It felt very comfortable, like we were welcome there. The food was good and the service was fast and friendly. We were on our way out when I realized my toddler still had food on his face. I popped my head back in to ask for napkins. The owner went and got a soft warm wet cloth and came out on to the sidewalk to wash my son's face. It was such a sweet gesture and that kind of care is such a refreshing thing to see. We'll definitely be back.

This feels like the exact restaurant Issaquah needed. The food is good, simple, and reasonably priced, and the dining room is comfortable and not too noisy. It felt relaxed without being too casual, and my kids each found multiple things on the menu that they liked that weren't cheeseburgers. I had Cajun seafood linguine and it was terrific! My partner had the club sandwich and fries, and we all agreed the fries were perfect! My kids had waffles with sausage and fruit, and spaghetti and meatballs and both liked their meals a lot (although my daughter said the pasta was a little overcooked) Service was friendly and efficient, both on the phone and in person. We'll absolutely be back, with grandparents in tow. A great family dining experience.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times, and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. My son loves to get the grilled cheese with fries, which are always crispy. Breakfast all day is a plus, as my wife loves the veggie omelet, which came with nice crispy hash browns. I usually opt for the burger, which is excellent and much more reasonably priced than most burgers in Issaquah. They are simple, but I’m in the camp that a burger should not try to be too fancy. These are the basics done well.

I want to start by saying I consider three stars to be average and you shouldn’t take it as me saying the place is bad. It’s just “average” as compared to other restaurants in the area. Pros: Inexpensive Good location Cons: No major ones My wife and I ordered fish and chips, and chicken fried steak (it is a diner after all). The fish had a soft texture (frozen?) but the fries were crisp. The chicken fried steak and gravy were okay but not what I’d consider traditional. The mashed potatoes were a little bland (as far as I can tell they had no dairy in them). The veggies were odd—onions, bell peppers, a small amount of broccoli and a lot of garlic. Overall, the food quality was commensurate with the price ($40 for two people). The decor was clean and fresh but didn’t really make me think “diner”. Still, it was comfortable. The staff was friendly although reserved. Overall, it’s an okay place and worth a try but I wouldn’t rate it as a favorite.

Just had dinner here and not only was it excellent in quality, the owner himself was our server. Glen was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. Had breakfast for dinner and it was delicious. (Legit the best blueberries I’ve ever had believe it or not.) Portions are generous for the price. Given the high price most other places charge, The Great American Diner is a no brainer. On a personal note: I overheard the owner speaking with another customer who commented on how reasonable the prices were and asked how that could be. He answered that he worked hard to keep prices reasonable since everything has become so expensive these days. He doesn’t think folks who’re struggling out there should also have to stress about being able to afford a good meal. It was obvious that he believes this and it shows in his business. I really believe places like this deserve our business and support as a community, and you should too.

Pros: The place seems clean. Everyone was professional and polite. Cons: The decor is awful. It feels cheap and poorly planned. Put live plants on the tables, paint the place a current color, get new tables and chairs. The lacquer dark cherry furniture with the turquoise plastic seating is jarring. This is never what a diner looked like or should look like now. Music was a mix of early 1970s women singers. Think Karen Carpenter. Why? Play current music. Now the food. What I wanted was reinvention of some American classics brought up to date. Chicken and Dumplings Chicken Corn Dogs Spicy Chicken Sandwich Chicken and Waffles Pancakes with fruit Great burgers and fries Onion Rings My husband ordered the veggie omelet. It was soggy and included broccoli. The fries were drenched in grease, heavy, and just not good. The service was slow, but that is expected with a new place. It is fine if it is worth waiting for. This is a great location. Bring in a consultant before it is too late! You have a great staff that wants this to work.

It was our first time here, I had heard a lot of good things about the restaurant. The food was very good. I loved the burger and the chili was good. The atmosphere wasn't great, it was very hot inside the dining room, the heat was blasting. That was very uncomfortable. Service was kind of slow and not super friendly but as far as I could tell there was only one person working and she was doing everything except cooking. I was with my Mom who is almost 90 and I did not find any handicapped parking for her.

Nice place, service was a little slow. I think they were short handed. But we weren't in a hurry. Food was great. Loved everything except the sausage gravy for some reason. Room for improvement there. The previous restaurant at this location was excellent. It will be missed.

My friends and I are back to our whenever-we-can lunch dates while the kids are at school. We always stay in the neighborhood and decided to try this new place. This is a great addition to the historic downtown restaurant choices. Linda was really great and friendly! Food was great except the fries are a little salty for my tastebuds. However, I am sure that my kid will love it and I will definitely be back here with my family. I will just try a different side next time. This place has a wide range of menu options.

Excellent food, friendly speedy service. Been a fan of the West Seattle location for years and excited to see them in Issaquah. My favorite dish is the Cajun seafood pasta. Great onion rings, fries, cheeseburgers, and love the all day breakfast options. Nothing ever disappoints.
