I stayed for one week and had a great experience. The family and locals were very friendly and helped me feel immersed in the culture by the end of my stay. The beach is beautiful and best for snorkeling, and exploring the rocks, especially at low tide. The fale was a new experience for me. Once you get used to a little sand being everywhere at all times, it's great. Even in the rain, not a drop of water ever made it into the fale. The food served was very good, and I particularly enjoyed dinner. A couple nights of the week, there was a cultural performance after dinner which made the experience much richer. The bathrooms are beach bathroom quality but the staff do as good as they can keeping them clean. The road to get to Matareva is long and you have to pay to enter ($7USD) but if you are planning to stay a couple days or not leave the beach much during your stay, it's not a big deal. If you're staying for a while and want to explore the island more, you can take tours organized by the family, or rent a car. Overall, I loved my stay and would absolutely go back!

Stayed for 5 nights. Had the best time in Matareva Beach Resorts. The staffs have been very friendly and helpful. The fale is right at the beach, we sleep so well with wave sound as lullaby. Went for snorkelling everyday, the reefs and fishes are wonderful! Highly recommended.

Matareva Beach Fales is very beautiful and peaceful. It has quite a fales (huts) with various pricing. There is a different charge for a day stay VS the price for overnight stay. The overnight stay also has a meal plan which you can pay all at once. There is a mosquito net that comes with the huts if you will stay overnight. They also have larger fales for large gatherings and this larger area has a sand volleyball court. The main area has a pool table (must pay to get the equipment), a ping pong table, a bar and tables for a sit down meal. The showers are good for Samoan standards with running fresh water. There are separate showers for male and females. The service is good and the employees are very accommodating. Note that there is a separate charge for your vehicle to enter the premise. In 2019, it was $60 Tala per vehicle (~$27 USD) to enter. This charge is given to the men that manage the entrance gate. There is a different charge for larger vehicles. We took an SUV and a Mini-van and paid $120 Tala. The road from the entrance to the beach fales is largely unkept and is quite rough. Expect another 10 to 12 minutes to drive from the entrance to the beach fales. This is after you drive 30 minutes from Apia (the down town area). Overall, this place is great for a few nights getaway! 👍

Amazing place!! This google pin is not up to date though. The beach fales can now be found under „Matareva Beach“, also represented on Facebook!

Staying here helped to make my first trip to Samoa an amazing one! The fales are a wonderful place to stay for an affordable, authentic experience. Waking up to the sound of the waves every morning is special. Such good value considering two meals are included each day. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Only downsides were the long, bumpy road and basic bathroom facilities.

Nice place, nice staff. We enjoyed delicious food there and the beach is amazing. Place is really tidy and every day they have special event. We loved the cultural show. Table tennis and pool on site. BUT the road is really horrible - many holes, stones, bumps... Big car recommended but we did it with small one. I cannot imagine to get there when raining. I am not talking about the thing that you have to pay 20 tala to drive there on this road. Resort should do something with that!!

Absolutely amazing place. The road to get there is a paradise but once you are there it is paradise. The owner family is Samoan and does everything to comfort you. We got to celebrate Tim's 21st birthday with them and this was a true Samoan experience. Lovely sunset views and a good happy hour between 5-7pm
