Staff at a hotel can make or break the experience. We stayed here 6 months ago and we still talk about how much we like the guy who worked there, don't think we got his name but was a Kiwi/Samoan and his cousin owned the place? Always ready for a chat, super funny dry sense of humour and even gave us a lift to the boat when we left. Just a really awesome dude. All the staff were chatty and nice, the room was huge and had decent mosquito screens on the windows. Cheap for how nice it was. They have kayaks for free that you can go out to an island a little off shore to snorkel. Whilst a little arduous getting out there and doubly so getting to the good coral we were rewarded with seeing an Eagle Ray there which was awesome! Let's face it, Samoa isn't a culinary destination and sadly this place didn't buck the trend but it was not bad and reasonably priced. Sunset was good as well.

--The staff are very nice: knowledgeable. --The food was okay. The Samoan coffee was good. --Lovely views all around the property. --Kayaks available on the property. --Nice layout to the rooms and hot water in the shower, plus a working air conditioner. --The bed was comfy. --They can assist in making arrangements for local tours and activities. --The only downside is the constant noise from the rooster, chickens and cats.

I recommend the Sava'iian hotel. The friendly staff and shady trees with hammocks made for a nice relaxing atmosphere. The bungalow was adequate only but we spent little time in it - as it's Samoa! Go outside! Importantly it was clean, and we had a small fridge and a bathroom and shower (cold). The price point was suitable for the standard. We encountered higher prices for less value elsewhere that we stayed. I do wish this was a place with a beach, it would suit it really well, it possibly had one before erosion (this is no complaint against the hotel). Still, us and the kids had a lot of fun swimming from the dock and using the kayaks. The pool was good too. The staff even put on a karaoke night for us. A couple minor things management might consider: some shade around the pool area would be good, and maybe supply a water cooler in the foyer for guests Fafetai lava Anthony and Misi and the rest of the team!

The Savaiian was amazing. Poi, the owner and his staff were so friendly and helpful and made the best, authentic Samoan food for us . Our rooms were always clean and supplied and the ground were well kept. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return some day.

If I could give 10, I definitely would. Outstanding staff that went out of their way to oversee our comfort and enjoyment, and the private bungalow room that I booked were in great condition for the price we paid. The hotel view of the ocean there is spectacular. The complimentary breakfast there was amazing as well. You definitely get a taste of Samoa staying there. Next time I come to Samoa, I’m definitely booking there again. Well done to the team at The Savaiian. Malo lava le galue!

Good place to stay. Beautiful sunrise view here. We stayed in 1 AC room and 1 non-AC bungalow. The one with AC is very well prepared but the non-AC one is not as decent. The bathroom has some dead insects. I guess you get what you paid for. The crew is nice here, average food in the restaurant.

I was really impressed with this hotel. They have private cottages but also a budget option- a backpacker-style dormitory with three beds to a room, plenty of outlets, and generously-sized bathrooms. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. They hold themselves to a higher standard of hospitality than many places on the island. They offer ferry transport (but it's the same price as a taxi anyway). Overall, I wish I had discovered this accommodation sooner.

Our group stayed here in June 2019 and although we get what we paid for, we understand it’s not the best quality and hotel standards but out of all the places/resorts we stayed at, we missed the Savaiian Hotel because of their amazing service. They made us feel very welcome and tried to accomodate us as much as possible. Anthony and the team were great, very helpful and helped us to enjoy our stay.
