Beautiful homestay made with love! The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing in the common area. The owner Mery was very friendly and helpful with good English skills and we loved the breakfast! Mery arranged transportation to Lake Toba and helped us a lot to find stores or ATMs we were looking for. Overall great value for money :)

Great location and Value for money Thank you very much for your great hospitality. We really enjoyed staying at your accommodation. The hotel amenity is taken care very well. The owner called Merry is also very lovely and very warm. She and her husband are two professional guide in Berastagi (North Sumatra). The price is totally affordable and value for many. We will highly recommended this Homestay for those who want to visit Berastagi.

Mery and Abdi are definition class hosts and hospitality focused. We would have been very sad and confused in Berastagi if not for their help and explanations. At arrival Berastagi city is not very friendly nor easy to understand. However, Mery helped us right away with a hand drawn map, bus explanations, and even how to order food in the local language. She helped us get our laundry dry cleaned and made sure it was delivered to us safely when we changed to another accommodation. Unfortunately, our beautiful room with private bath was not available for both our nights. For the night we did stay at their home stay, We enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep in the very clean accommodations and enjoyed the sunrise volcano tour with her husband Abdi. You can see the video of this beautiful experience!! His stories and jokes were extra appreciated to understand the region and hear about life from a locals perspective. We used his taxi service as well where he helped us explore the surrounding hills of Berastagi before we felt ready to try the bus routes :-) overall we are so fortunate to meet these great people and we HIGHLY recommend you stay or do the volcano tour with them!

Our room was large and super clean, with a large ensuite bathroom and very good Wifi. Mery is a fantastic host who helped us with transport to and from the homestay. She also organized two local tours for us (with her husband Abdy as guide) and gave us lots of local information. Abdy was a great and fun guide for our sunrise volcano trek and to the lake and waterfall. Thank you Mery and Abdy, you really made our stay in Berastagi wonderful! 🙏

Mery is fantastic, a real treasure! She is not only a valuable source of information on Berastagi - things to see and do, how to get around, or onward to your next destination - but also a great organizational talent. Communication is fast and excellent. She runs her guesthouse in such a friendly and professional manner that it's easy to forget that the rooms may be missing some (not significant) comforts, such as a reading light above the bed, some extra hooks or hangers for clothes, or a table. That said, our room was nice and tidy and super clean. When it wasn't cloudy we had a view from our window; if we didn't want to hear the early morning prayers, we could close it soundproof. Our room had its own bathroom (hot water), which we thought was a plus. Breakfast is good and Mery bakes delicious pizzas on request. Rightly praised as the best budget option in town. Absolutely recommended! The only downside we found the location. Jl. Veteran (the main street) is overcrowded, noisy, dusty and far from relaxing. Happily Nachelle Homestay is located in a quiet side alley.

Had a nice 1 night stay at Nachelle homestay. The owner was friendly and flexible. It is a three-story house with many rooms. The balcony offers a great spot to hang dry clothes and enjoy a beautiful sunset with a mountain view. The living room had a water dispenser but the hot water wasn't working during our visit. WiFi is available only on the 1st and 2nd floors, not reaching the 3rd floor. Breakfast is available if you pre-order. Overall, a cozy and welcoming place.

We stayed here just for one night. The best service we had in all Indonesia. As soon as we arrived, Mery explained us how to move around the area, show us the main attractions, recommend where to eat and how to communicate that we were vegetarians. A full detailed explanation including map, references and price for local transport. Also helped us in our adventure to go all the way from Berastagi to Parapat in local buses, again with full explanation and detailed prices. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit. Not included and you have to organise the day before with them. The rooms, super clean and comfortable. As well as all the establishment. Location: was a bit tricky to find, and it’s in a pretty local area, not the nicest area in Berastagi if you compare with the residential area up the hill. BUT is super easy to get transport and move around from the homestay, even if you wanna walk is not far from the markets and monuments.

A bit hard to find at first, it's behind Indomarket on a parking place. We stayed in de 3rd floor super king size bed, with 2 extra natrasses on our floor. The room has volcano view, but only through small room at eye level. The room and bathroom are both very clean. A good bed. Mery is so kind and so helpful with everything (Both before our stay as during our stay). We did the Sinabung day trip and the Sibayak sunrise tour with our kids of 10 and 5. Both very nice. The Sibayak is a bit steep climb at first, but it was okay for the 5yr old.

Meri and Abdy are such wonderful welcoming hosts who do an amazing job introducing you to the area. They both speak English well and have lots of information to share. We did the sunrise volcano hike with them and really enjoyed it- definitely recommend! We also loved watching sunset from their roof surrounded by all the volcanoes. Thank you for such kind hospitality!

Even before we arrived we felt welcome by Mery's helpful messages so that we could easily find the homestay. We arrived in a nice house and a beautiful family. With Mery's personal tips we had fun days full of activities, sights and good food. Speaking of food, the pizzas Mery makes are delicious! The Sibayak tour with Abdi is highly recommended, we thought it exceeded expectations. The sunrise is beautiful, the active volcano impressive and the hot spring wonderful. The guide could tell a lot, which also made it interesting. Thank you for our wonderful stay, we definitely recommend it!

The house n rooms r very clean. Host stay at ground floor while guests stay at 2nd n 3rd floor. The host n hostess r both very helpful. As usual there s no ceiling fan, so, it's very depending on the weather on whether it's cooling or not🤣 View on top of the roof is ideal for photo taking. There's regular buses at rph3000 to go to town which is 20 min walking distance away, for local market, fruit market, street food, etc. Wifi will not b available at 3rd floor when we stay there.

Would highly recommend Nachelle homestay. Very clean, comfortable, hot shower, and they helped us with everything. We did the sunrise volcano tour through them and it was amazing. Mary is great, and makes delicious pizza. They even helped us arrange a ride to our next location.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Homestay with Mery and her husband. The room was spacious and very clean. Mery is exceptionally well organized and will help you with everything. Also enjoyed the volcano tour as well as a private trip to Sipiso Piso and Lake Toba a lot. Highly recommended!

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The view from the rooftop is awesome. But the absolutely best about the accommodation are the nice warming and helpful owners. Mary and her husband have been awesome hosts. I can highly recommend the homestay.

You will be welcomed like family here. Meri and Abdi are excellent hosts, couldn't be more helpful. The children are smiley too. Meri sat down with us when we arrived and helped us plans our days here. We did a walk with Abdi as our guide and had a wonderful morning climbing the volcano and going to the hot springs. The homestay is very clean, the sheets and bedding are fresh and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts are good and there is water on tap to refill your containers. There wasn't any WiFi in the room but there is a comfortable seating area to relax in where there is WiFi. All in all we'd highly recommend this homestay.

Expect more like a guesthouse than a homestay. We stayed two nights in the family room. The room was very spacious, clean and had a bathroom with reliable hot water. The view from the rooftop is amazing, you can see both vulcanoes Mery really is the ideal host. She can arrange everything for you: breakfast, laundry, tours and transfers, … She provides you with a personalized map. We had two transfers and one tour arranged by Mery and all three were reliable, careful drivers.

This place made our stay in Sumatra extra special. Mery and Abdy went above and beyond for us! Think about arranging transport from Lake Toba and to Medan airport, restaurant suggestions, tips for the town of Berastagi and which buses to take, but also advising through WhatsApp on how to travel to Berastagi and which companies to choose - long before we even got there! The hotel is clean and very comfortable, and Mery instantly made us feel welcome and at home. Abdy took us on a trip to the volcano where we had so much fun and learned a ton of interesting stuff. These people understand tourism and will give you much more than what you’ve paid for!

In one word - fantastic!!!! Mery and her husband Abdy were doing an absolute lot to make our stay as good any how possible! They arranged tours, gave recommendations and hosted in such a lovely and friendly way that we really felt a warm welcome! They also work together with a great driver, he drove us to the waterfall, the lake toba and the airport the next day. We have never had such a great, respectful, calm and responsible driver - cheers also for that. We would love to stay with you again!

Highly recommend Nachelle Homestay in Berastagi. Mary and Abden are wonderful hosts with lovely children. We stayed for 2 nights and did the volcano walking tour - also highly recommend. Rooms were super clean and comfortable. Breakfast pancakes were delicious. They also provide laundry service. ATM and supermarket are next door. Homestay is just off the main road so is very quiet. Amazing rooftop with 360 views including the volcanoes. Unfortunately when I checked out I left something valuable behind. Mary organised for it to be sent with a driver to my new destination - Thank you Mary!

Great Family Homestay! Nachelle Homestay truly exceeded our expectations :) There's absolutely nothing to be unhappy with or complain about. The very opposite, everything was great and we absolutely loved it! Mery and her husband Abdy are very welcoming & caring couple, not to mention their lovely daughters. From the moment we arrived in Berastagi they're so pleasant and explained us everything in detail. We were upgraded to a bigger room with great volcano views which we really appreciated. Clean, comfortable bed, hot shower, wi-fi and decent breakfast. What else can you ask for? Abdy helped us with transportation while we trekked Mt Sibayak, which was great. A couple of days later, he also drove us with a nice private car all the way down to Lake Toba (kindly arranged with Mery). We couldn't be happier with their assistance and hope to be back one day. I would definitely recommend this place to all fellow travellers visiting Berastagi in the future. You won't regret it :) Thank you.

Oh Nachelle! Welcoming, comfortable, clean homestay with charming hosts and terrific views from their rooftop. Abdy was an awesome guide to the nearby volcano, I learned a ton and had a blast with him. This is the quiet edge of town, and set back a little from the main road which, given the traffic noise in the center, is just where you want to be. Along the main ‘bus’ routes (Mery and Abdy are really helpful at navigating this system). In the evenings, a few steps away a lovely family serves desserts that I miss terribly.

If you want to climb the Sibayak Vulcano then this is a very good place to stay. Decent rooms but wifi only at the reception. The owner is very friendly and helpful and will provide breakfast to go when you get off early for the Vulcano tour.

It is very special how Mery makes sure her guest have a great time. She is super helpful in arranging things and giving advice were to go and what to do. We had an unforgettable experience with climbing the vulcano with her husband. We had a big room with a nice view on the vulcano.

FANTASTIC! Had an absolute blast at Nachelle Homestay. I completely agree with all the positive reviews; the homestay is a gem. The location is beautiful and close to the center, the view is absolutely amazing and the rooms are big, very clean and comfortable. Huge bed :-) I can not say enough about Abdy and Mery. Very friendly, open, and fun people. They're sincere and really know how to make you feel welcome. I enjoyed talking to them, learning about Berastagi, local and Indonesian culture and just life in general. Mery provided me with tons of info about the area (how to take the bus, best places to eat, drink coffee etc.). Very useful. And she makes very tasty pancakes in the morning! I went on a vulcano trip with Abdy and had so much fun all morning! Laughed so much and Abdy is a great guide, with a lot of experience. He knows about Berastagi history, the vulcano's, animals, but also the jungle. Also, I used their driver, Agus, to take me from Medan to Berastagi and after that to Toba. He's a very kind man, a good driver and always very careful on the road.
