My first stop at Lake Placid and I was surprised that it looks more like a river. But the public boat ramp has tons of parking and a nice ramp wide enough for two boats. Everyone shows the typical courtesy that boaters always show, and the layout. Which is directly under I 10, is good for swinging around to hack in and pull out then park. There is a trash can, bit that's about it for amenities. It is the kind of place you can leave your tow vehicle and not worry about it. Nice spot to put in the lake.

Public boat ramp. Free to use. No boat dock available. Limited parking. Can park on grassy areas when it's not muddy. All land is private so you can't bank up anywhere.

It is a dump!!! Here all day only caught 2 bluegill, and the lake was so buisy that I almost fell off my bass boat multiple times. Would not recommend go to canyon lake!

Love Lake Placid grew up on that leg just spent two weeks there for vacation my dad had a house there my brothers got a place there and it still has water LOL for those of you who know about San Antonio with the McQueeney and Dunlap

Fishing is ok for bass but the people don't have respect for other boaters. Most of the boaters are reckless

Lake is semi drained right now while they repair the dam. However, you can still bring a kayak or small fishing boat and use that.

We go every year with friends and always have a great time.

Would be nicer if people had better Boating etiquette.
