Overall very nice hotel. We stayed with pets (dogs) which complicated our stay, there is not any grass super close to the hotel. The closest grass area for pets is Travis park, which is 4-5 blocks away or about a 7 minute walk. The elevators were on the fritz for most of our stay, so we either had to wait a very long time, or take the stairs (with pets). Once we got stuck in the elevator for a few moments when it was stuck between floors and the doors didn’t open. The spa is great, highly recommend spending some time there. Location is good, literally right on the riverwalk. Staff was kind and helpful. Room service came quickly. Rooms are good, our room and bathroom was very large. We were only on the third floor however so the traffic noise was pretty loud at night and it may be difficult to sleep for light sleepers.

We are a family of four with two little kids. We had two dogs. The cleaning fee is a one time fee for the length of our stay we stayed for a couple days so the one time fee was worth it for us versus $50/night/dog. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The rooms were as pictured. Staff was very very helpful. We had gotten massages too. The therapists were very knowledgeable. Edit: I stayed here with my husband. We can sometimes be separated as a family due to his job but we have been lucky and haven’t had to do this in years. My two daugthers have missed their father since before Christmas. We decided to come together for a weekend in San Antonio. They were happy to see him but distraught when he left. Isaac was very empathetic and called to check on them. Definitely recommend this hotel! They seem to notice the little things. Customer service has been stellar here and accommodations have been great.

The best. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the city for the river walk. They have an exit to river walk directly from inside the hotel. Please see attached video. The rooms are very well maintained and the service is awesome. Their rooftop has a small bar and pools, perfect place to spend time in the evenings.

We had an amazing stay at Mokara for the weekend. Genuinely impressed by all the amenities. However, the service is the real reason why I am writing this review. All the employees make you feel like you are at home and they are there to help you with whatever you need. Service is extremely fast and food/drinks were great quality. Lastly, we would like to shout out Isaac at the front desk for his attention to detail, hospitality, and kindness.

We had a great time at the Mokara. The hotel staff is super nice starting from valet services, to check in. We arrived at noon. We were able to access the hotel amenities and got a couple drinks at the roof top bars before the room is available. The staff even got us ice to chill our sore legs. The best part of the hotel is the fabulous concierge, Ms Shannon Rene, who got us into two award winning restaurants and wonderful culinary experiences. Thank you for the excellent service and a wonderful weekend

We will return to this hotel and spa. My favorite feature was that they are a boutique hotel with fewer rooms, which reduce the crowd and improve service. Great food at Ostra and you can walk every where you need to go. What an amazing amenity to have access to the relaxing spa saunas and steam rooms during your entire stay, not just during spa services. 5 ⭐️ for sure.

I recently had the most amazing experience staying at this hotel. The staff were wonderful, greeting me at the door when my Uber pulled up. Check-in was quick and easy. Upon entering the room it was clean and spacious. The set up by the jacuzzi was inviting and a great touch. I ordered room service for breakfast and each time it was perfect. I had an amazing spa experience. I received a 55 minute CBD massage. The spa is relaxing with a separate men's and women's locker area. This was the most pleasant and relaxing time I've had at a hotel in a long time.

The people (specifically Isaac at the front desk) were some of the best and courteous hotel staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! The ambiance of the lobby and amenities and co-located spa made the trip worthwhile. HOWEVER…a serious consideration needs to be made regarding the rooms. Our room smelled like mold, which means there is definitely mold present. Specifically, it is in the carpet which made the slippers mandatory (super thankful they were in the room!). We totally enjoyed the spa for an opportunity to decompress and the staff again were phenomenal. BUT, nothing was working. Steam and sauna rooms were both broken and the whirlpool needs to be cleaned and refilled.

Words cannot express on how amazing this stay was. Their spa suites are amazing, high ceilings, big bath tube, all the workers are so polite and treat you with high standards! Location is great and the view is awesome! This will be my spot to stay when coming to SA from now on!

First off I just want to say that the hotel staff was extremely nice. Definitely great people but my experience at the hotel was very poor especially for the price. My last two nights I was woken up at 2am and 3am to what I believe homeless people banging on dumpsters and fighting. Maybe this was just because I was on a lower floor. I also had mold in my berries for breakfast they obviously are not washing the fruit at the restaurant. I got reimbursed for the breakfast but still accidentally ate some or the fruit thinking it was ok see the photo. When I explained the noise/ being woken up in the middle of the night situation there was just a sorry from the front desk and I left. Very nice people but they need to get a grip on security right outside the hotel at night and definitely clean the fruit properly. Wasn’t worth the price in my opinion.

We stayed here for thanksgiving weekend and had the most amazing experience. This hotel has a pleasant atmosphere and a very attentive service starting from the guys at the valet, front desk lady which gave us a room with a beautiful view to the river last minute, the restaurant staff and manager whom were so helpful and gave us the best outdoor dining experience during the Christmas parade, and the spa which we highly recommend, staff were very kind and our massage therapists were the best! 10/10

We had the most wonderful time celebrating a birthday here. Ricky the porter and Chris the concierge are both so sweet and helpful. They had the most upbeat welcoming energy. We opted for a massage at the spa and Jasmyn gave me the best massage I’ve ever had. Even the assets protection man we ran into in the elevator asked what they could do better. This entire team strives for excellence and succeeds. Already planning a return visit. Was sad to leave.

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff. Everyone we encountered daily during our stay was just as delightful as the next. Comfortable and clean room. The bed was like a cloud. The restaurants were good for breakfast and dinners. Access to the riverfront for walking and shopping. Roof top pool and hot tub was a nice relaxing evening place. During our stay they had a free yoga class on Saturday. Very nice instructor for the session!

Mokara hotel is a small size, personalized hotel on the river walk. I had a wonderful room facing the river, well appointed and relaxing room. The front desk service was also great. I will definitely come back here when I visit San Antonio in the future.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice lobby and spacious rooms. Good location. Cons: Terribly outdated toilets. We could hardly get ours to flush - very tricky. Room lock worked only sporadically and had a mind of its own. Didn't bother raising these issues to the staff as we didn't want to deal with repair time and having repairmen in our room. Generally pretty clean but found hair on the bathroom counter from a prior guest. Overall, probably would not return.

From my arrival to my checkout I could not have had better service. Valet, Front Desk, Night Manager, Engineering Team.....all exceptional! Every single employee I encountered was friendly and really made you feel like you were their only priority. I cannot wait to visit again and would give more stars if I was allowed to!

We had an overall great time at this hotel. It has Riverwalk access and it was absolutely beautiful weather which added to the great experience. The restaurant on the Riverwalk level had great food. The gentleman named Robin who was working the front desk in the evening was very pleasant, hospitable, and a great attitude. The price of the hotel was very reasonable as well for staying on the Riverwalk. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking to visit San Antonio especially if you want a romantic setting.

Friendly staff and great location. Unfortunately, the concierge never followed up regarding local restaurants and tourists sites. We were directed to call an IT company to connect to the internet. There are no vending machines and had to pay $14 for a soft drink and a room delivery charge. The mini bar and snacks are not complementary. The rooms weren't cleaned and vacuumed.

Celebrated girlfriend birthday in San Antonio for the weekend and we booked our stay at the Mokara hotel and were absolutely blown away. Beautiful hotel, features and a nice view to the Riverwalk area. The staff here are the absolute best! All of the staff are very welcoming and provided the best customer experience that helped make someone special to me have an amazing birthday weekend. Highly recommend this location and thank you team!

Me and my wife recently stayed here during a business trip. Our first date was at the restaurant downstairs so we had to try the hotel this time. The service, staff & quality of the rooms was amazing, We could not have ask for a more welcoming experience every single time we encountered anyone; from the room service to extra towels or water it was always a joy to say hi. Although we'll be moving to SA soon we can't wait to return for some staycations downtown!

We chose Mokara Hotel & Spa for its proximity to the River Walk as well as the Empire Theater, which is a 2 minute walk. From the Valet to the Front Desk Staff and Dine-in Staff, everyone was incredibly professional and considerate. I began receiving text messages from the Management staff the day before we arrived and it continued throughout our stay (one night). You don't find that level of service very much anymore and I was very impressed! The decor in the lobby, hallways & rooms is very peaceful and pleasing. The room & bathroom are very nicely sized. The bathroom in our suite was massive with separate jetted tub, shower and water closet. We felt as if we were the only ones in the hotel. The room is very well insulated from outside noise. We would highly recommend Mokara to anyone visiting San Antonio.

I had 2 rooms - king river walk view and double non view. The hotel needs some love, but the staff make up for it. They are wonderful people! This is a busier part of the river walk but a short walk to the quiet areas. The 800 reservation line does match the guest service of the hotel. If you have any questions, call the hotel directly. The character of the hotel was a factor in choosing it. And character takes time and people to keep up. It needs more love and care and we are all stretched thin. It was clean - tattered but clean. I know the “details” of most things have been sacrificed in our collective mess of the last few years.

Incredible quality stay here. May at the front desk and Shannon at the concierge were excellent. Spa is a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend. Will absolutely stay here again. Note, the pool is a bit more of a soaking pool and not particularly expansive, but the cafe on the roof is great for creating ambiance around the pool.

First time in San Antonio and took a chance with this place. Physically and location wise, it was exactly what I expected, plus many unexpected positive surprises. A neat hotel. What really stood out for me was the entire staff, from the managers to all the support personnel, regardless of the time of day. If you want a warm and top notch experience, definitely don't be afraid of trying this place out. I'm very thankful, after I spent time downtown and looked at the other hotels I almost chose, that I chose this one. An exerpet from my ex wife who shared the experience with me: "It was AWESOME! Reminded me about the beauty in life. Time with family... Time alone to rejuvenate.... Time to sleep deeply with the amazing pillows. Thank you for that experience." It's a good place to feel welcomed and know that everything is taken care of.
