Perfect sunset spot - recommended to us by locals and was really wonderful. We took some drinks and there was a jazz musician who really set the scene. The sky didn't disappoint either!

Great view upon the Dunes and starting point for the paths. Visiting the dunes I sadly saw basically every forbidden item on the many signs: rubbish, naked people, smoking people, one apparently camping person, small constructions of stones, but mostly people going off-trail and footprints all over the dunes. The only birds I saw were city pigeons picking at camel droppings… If the local authorities put an officer with a whistle at the mirador, they could enforce the prohibitions and probably raise a substantial amount of money in fines to be used for the maintenance of the park. Just saying :)

This place is just pure magic. Seeing the sea and the desert at the same time is such a crazy experience. There are free toilets and a quit good ice cream store. Definitely a must when in Maspalomas!

Spectacular and unexpected nature experience. It's like diving in in a 60s adventure movie. You expect camel caravans to cross your way just around the next dune and it's just a 5 minute walk from the beach boulevard. Make sure to take 0.5 l of water per person with you if you want to cross the dunes and closed shoes. Avoid the noon hours between 12:30 and 14:30. It's just too hot.

Visited here after a recommendation from the hotel. Did not disappoint! Decided to visit at sunset as had heard was truly stunning viewpoint, and certainly was that. A beautiful place to visit all day round though of course, but would highly recommend the sunset time for the view.

Amazing place, be careful of the naked man waking around pretending this is some sort of Savana role play.

The Sand Dunes are incredible. Not amazing amounts to say but if you like the idea of being in a desert but too scared to visit a real one then this is a great training ground. Additionally if you want to pretend to be Lawrence of Arabia, C3P0 and/or R2D2 or really any famous film characters that have appeared in iconic desert film scenes, then this is an ideal place for that. Running up and down the dunes is awesome fun but you can get quite hot and sweaty and if it's windy you'll get a face full of sand too giving you a weird sandblasted monster look, but I had a great time and also learnt I really need to work on my cardio more. Worth a visit, take water.

This is the starting point of the Maspalomas Dunes. You can take photos here from the edge of the dunes if you prefer to keep your feet sand-free. However, to truly experience the magic of the sand, walk for about five minutes into the dunes area and feel the sand beneath your feet.
