If you like Tex-Mex you may like the Rio. I personally did not. I ordered the burrito enchilada style with chili pork. The pork was smothered in sweet bbq sauce which was a shock as I was expecting spicy. I also wonder why they have very bad store bought chips but make handmade tortillas. Won't be coming back again.

My family and I are big fans of Cafe Rio’s food. I have had bad stuff happen before, but this time took the cake. I got there with only 2 people in front of me and left with at least 7 additional waiting for their food. The lady made my food and had it sitting there while she helped the register for the next 15 minutes. After she was done with that, she went back over to my food, bagged it up, and called my name. From there she told me, that they hadn’t gotten a chance to call, but they were out of queso, so I substituted with guacamole. It took an additional 12 minutes to get the guacamole cause she continued to help more people in the in person line while she had someone else make the guacamole. She was mixing it in the back. When I got home, I checked the multiple meals I got. First off, my food was cold. My son’s kid’s meal had rice instead of beans. The bag of chips was less than halfway full, and the guacamole had a large chunk of tomato in it. It looked like there avocado just thrown into container and mixed around with large piece of tomato. We used to visit this place often and have cut back due to how many things keep happening. Tired of waiting for cold food and incorrectly made food.

Surprised this place has such a high rating. The food is blan and our order of tacos were served room temp. The tortillas were warmed up a few seconds but that didnt make much of a differnece. The rice was under cooked. Even the challah was watered down. If you like authentic Mexican food go anywhere else. Hell, even taco bell is better than this place. Given the price and quality. I'd say it's a step bellow fast food.

Really yummy. First time there. Had a wet burritos with beef. Really good size, didn't think I would finish, but I did. I asked for less rice, but they still put a lot of rice. It was a little saltier than I prefer and the spicy salsa wasn't spicy.

My shredded beef tacos were dry. Prices have really gone up.

Bathrooms here are so nasty. They've been bad for as long as I can remember. Taco Tuesday deal is nice.

Would rate a 0 star if I could. I could not believe how disgusting the restroom was considering it being a restaurant. No toilet paper in either stall. I was going to order but as soon as i seen how obviously this place is ok with having the restroom like that, i changed my mind and left thinking to myself if thats how they have the kitchen where they prepare food too. I even let a female employee know and her only response was “sorry we are very busy and dont have the time” like if thats a very good excuse. This place either needs to hire more people or get rid of the employees that obviously dont focus on cleaning. Or the new african american manager needs to be on top of her game and do a better job with her employees. Im sorry but theres no excuse. I will definitely be sending this review and report to the health department.

Wow really that's what you consider a taco??? Very upset in this Redlands location. The meat is not even visible. Regret buying 3 tacos with 1/4 of meat. Don't go there. Plus beverage section empty of tea and Agua frescas.

The food is really good. We have up meat for the month of June & Cafe Rio does vegetarian right. The only downside is the place is filthy. It's not the employees fault, it's the parents of the kids that allow them to trash the restrooms and don't clean up after themselves.

Visited a little before 9:00 PM, more than an hour before close. The line was not too bad and there were 3-4 employees working. I noticed only one of the employees was actually helping the line of customers. When we got to the front of the line we ordered and they were out of the sauces and most meat options. It was still early enough and a lot of customers waiting now behind us, however they just gave an order of nothing. We paid for no food really, but we were super hungry after the long wait time. Customer service was pretty bad, the wait time was long, and in the end we received a very small serving of food we did not even want since they were out of everything. They could have at least told us they were out instead of having us wait. Not sure what the other customers behind us did. I would skip this location if possible.

Ok when you mess up once, it's no big deal. When you mess up twice, concerning but it ok, happens! When you mess up 5 times? That's a problem! Every single time I order for delivery, they always mess up my tortillas. I specifically ask for corn and I get flour. After the second time, I even call them to let them know that I want corn and not flour and they still always give me flour and when I have to take it back, I am told they ran out of corn tortillas so they subbed with flour. I am gluten intolerant, which means flour and bread causes joint pain and severe inflammation for me. No you cannot just sub my corn tortillas with flour! Atleast call me to let me know so I can cancel the order! When I do go in person, they are ALWAYS out of half the ingredients! My option is to sub with something I don't want, wait 20 mins for a refill, or walk away. I don't even know why I bother with this place!

I love this place but it's always dirty. They need personal to clean.

I am really surprised this establishment hasn’t been shut down by the health inspector. Walking into this place a lot of empty tables with chairs not pushed in, a lot of food and trash on the floor, also the bathrooms were more filthy than a park in downtown San Bernardino! Blasting rap music coming from the kitchen interfering with the restaurants music… their trash cans inside can use some cleaning by one of the plentiful amount of workers that were in the kitchen. Boxes laying around on the kitchens floor…… this just makes you think what it looks like behind the counter.

It's so overpriced you might as well go eat at a restaurant. And the service is so slow and incompetent you might as well go to a fast food restaurant Came in when there were 6 people in line and it took 45 minutes to get food done. Place is so old that everything looks dirty. Staff behind the counter are very lackadaisical.

It was disgusting , really , so i went there at 8 pm , and they don’t have anymore grilled chicken , so they have to look for left over shredded chicken meat from the container for the salad . Unfortunately bones stucked in my mouth and it hurt so bad , well hopefully it was chicken bones . I just left . Dissapointed .

This is my first time coming here and I let it be known that it’s my first time and I wanted a quesadilla and I asked the second time if it could be made less juicy. The lady keeps telling me how to do her job like I can’t physically see how she made my quesadilla So I told her nicely, I don’t like my food soggy, and that I would like it to be cooked crunchy on the stove please. And she keeps telling me to look at the stove and see all the broth coming out of the quesadilla Which I already seen I was just asking if she can make my quesadilla. Well done because my first quesadilla was so soggy it was falling Apart, when I went to take a bite. And then the whole experience was just no communication no reassurance I Said that it was mine and my mom‘s first time here which you would think they would accommodate that we don’t know how it works. It reminds me of a chipotle experience where you order on one side and work your way to the end side, telling them the items you want on your plate Overall, my experience was not good at all.. the food wasn’t good either. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. 👎

I took my grandma to get food from here. When I walked in there was no customers but me, but about 5 employees. The customer service was good as far as greeting me. My initial view was nice and clean, but once I got to the counter it was a mess food all over the counter and empty containers. I ordered a 2 enchilada plate and a 1 enchilada plate. The topping was thrown on the food so sloppy and the food was so salty me and my grandmother couldn’t even eat it. My overall experience was a waste of money. Also there is no reason a restaurant should be filthy when there are 5 employees standing around and no customers inside. There is no way I will ever visit this location again it’s not worth it.

This place deserve 0 stars.The surveys were rude and the fresh drinks were empty and nasty and when I asked them about it they said we're working on it with an attitude and the restroom were disgusting and broken. This was also not worth the $65 for 3 people and the small portions.

Love this location only. I’ve been to a few different Cafe Rios and have been let down every time EXCEPT THIS LOCATION!!! . It’s just better /above the rest. Tortillas are always fresh service is friendly and genuine. Corporate needs to see what’s going right over here and implement it in other locations. The staff here is amazing. We ordered 6 chicken tacos on taco tues day with a drink it came to 20 bucks for the two of us!

I went during a lunch rush but the line moved quickly. One of the gentleman that helped me was very nice and helpful. Wish I would've got his name to give him credit when credit is due. The food was fresh and good. I ordered the Pollo asada salad.

Amazing staff tonight. Rapid service and great customer service. we were so pleased in our overall experience here. Would def recommend !!

Cafe Rio has always been great! But our recent visit was disappointing the dust on the signs above your head while waiting in line were like an inch thick full of dust really bad… the top of the glass where they served food was extremely dusty and dirty. The food was not served hot. It was warm instead. While I watched the guys handle food they touched their clothes with the gloves on and did not change them. The food is delicious this particular place needs and deep cleaning and the workers just didn’t seem to care about the service of food..

I've been a long time customer of Cafe Rio but ever since the pandemic they have not been the same. The staff is mostly men which I'm not sure if that's why the restrooms are absolutely disgusting. I ate there today the salad was bomb as usual but afterwards I went to the restroom and I was completely shook, honestly I think a gas station would have been cleaner. It literally looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while, cause there was nasty stuff on the back part of the seat, down the front of the toilet on the sides and to top it off feminine napkins thrown on the floor cause there wasn't even a trash can in the stalls. It really makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen if the restrooms are in that condition.

Not impressed the kitchen was a mess, employees were standing around and letting one person take care of three guest. It was past the lunch hour around 2 pm it wasn't busy no need for the slow service and cold food.

Great place... great food, ..nice atmosphere if you sit outside , otherwise a bit cold inside with basic atmosphere... they make their own tortillas, which taste absolutely incredible, like an Indian roti...perfect. I got the salad bowl with pork...great flavor, comes with rice and beans and large amount of romaine lettuce ( ask for the thinly chopped lettuce as an option otherwise the pueces of lettuce are too large) and guac..I always get the cheese grilled in the large tortilla and wrapped separate to save it getting a soggy mess. ( they will wrapt it in alfoil to keep hot and fresh Otherwise, they place it in the bowl first.. Two types of cilantro dressing offered, make sure and ask to see them.. one is a ranch type, and the other is green..both good but one is creamier..if u don't ask , they will choose for you. The cashier could be more helpful and friendlier... U gotta go..Enjoy

Food is usually great! But....I tried ordering delivery through their app last time I ordered and food never arrived. I was charged $18 and had to miss lunch that day. Then after work had to spend 30+ minutes to get a refund. As an aside, if you order delivery, their prices are higher in addition to the delivery fee.

This location is the worst. The employees have ZERO sense of urgency. Every time I have gone there, the line is short but takes 30+ minutes to get through. They seem to always be out of items on the line and are waiting on a fresh batch. No apology for the delay and no indication that they think this is a problem. I went to Miguel’s Jr down the street instead and paid half the price for a burrito with no wait.

This place is actually sooo gooood!! The staff is friendly and they actually take care of the customer. I had ordered a salad and dessert for pick up. I grabbed my bag, and went into my car. I look inside and see no desert. I go back inside and they didn't even ask to check my receipt. They made my one in no time, and it was delicious!! Definitely recommend!!!

At least 5 people in line walked out because of slow the service was. They take so long to serve customers, it’s incredible that they are still in business. Waited 30 minutes to find out is no little to no rice and no guacamole. If management is reading this you need to hire more employees.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant currently. I tell all my friends to come here. I'm not sure if it's the fresh ingredients but every time I eat here the food is phenomenal, every bite gets better and better and the food makes you feel good after eating it. It's a bit on the pricey side but it's definitely worth it. 10/10

Staff was friendly and one guy in particular stood out from the rest. He was fun and entertaining with a great smile. Sadly, food was not that good. Chips in the nachos where soggy by the time we sat down to eat them. The cheese quesadilla was dry. We could barely cut through the cheese enchiladas and most the drink choices were empty. One of the salsas smelled and tasted like I left my clothes in the wash for too long. I don't like to leave a poor review but I was very disappointed today. On top of all that, the prices were very high. I know everything has gone up recently, but this was not worth it. $11+ for 4 fountain drinks and my first two choices were empty and my third was almost gone. I also took into consideration that maybe they were low in staff, but that doesn't explain the food flavors.

This place, first of all I love the food it is so delectable. Even my sister who is super picky and she hates cafe Rio, she finished her bowl. My cousin ate the rice and the beans meaning it’s yummy too. The bathrooms I don’t know about. But there is one worker who is very good at his job and his name is Alberto. I’m going to buy a shirt that says I love cafe Rio!!!!!! 10/10. Oh let’s taco bout it!! (Edited) I will also like to say that a lot of people are saying bad things about the food they got. I was like that too, I didn’t like Cafe Rio at first because i ordered such plain things. But the thing is you just need to ask or find out what you like and try new things. Their tortillas are very soft and big or their nachos too are very good. Many people should be open to trying new things and finding out what they like at Cafe Rio so you can have a good experience at Cafe Rio. That’s all I wanted to say, just some advice for the people who didn’t like Cafe Rio the first time. Always try ordering something different again!!🥰🤗
