So close to Santiago! These hills are "pre-Cordillera", before the Andes mountains. The park, normally green everywhere, was a little dusty when I went, but the views of Santiago were amazing. There were would horses seeking shade under a tree. There were many people on bicycles riding the trails and getting a workout since it's a steep ride up. Police patrolled nearby and overall things were safe and fun. On weekends the park is much more full of people and the youth partying. Overall a pretty amazing Park

Good place for trekking long distance

Beautiful place. Sadly, dry trend and careless motorcycles and bikes don't preserve the natural soil.

Well nothing much about the place. Hiking is average. Not much vegetation there.

It's a great place to take some fresh air away from the urbanization. The point is, stop, stop, stop leaving your garbage, cans, cigarette filters, lighters, bottles, bags, and any kind of thing that does not belong to the Panul Park. Please, trekk, jog, camp, bike, and lay down in the grass responsibly.

Perfect community park, you can do trekking, mountain bike, etc. Nice views of the mountains.

Quiet park with good trails. Also good if you like wild horses.

if you're going, take plenty of water. There's none there, although there are always some vendors in the parking lot, at the base

Cerro Panul is a beautiful spot for trekking or mountain biking. There are separate routes so walkers don't meet bikers directly (and accidents are avoided). People who visit Cerro Panul are mostly very kind and respectful with nature and other visitors. Expect a nice morning, going up the hill and reaching places with beautiful city views above the smog layer. Try to reach at least Blanca Nieves (Snow White), and the track of Chile, that's about a 1.5 h walk. Some advices. Go early as coming back when the sun is up may be exhausting. Get a good breakfast. Go with at least a water bottle. Follow the routes, as you can get lost easily if you begin exploring, a good way to get on you way is reaching the high voltage towers. No fires allowed, there are no picnic areas here, also avoid smoking. Take your trash back with you, this is one of the city lungs so keep it clean. Avoid using music speakers, visitors come here to enjoy nature including it's sounds and silence. And overall respect nature, plants, trees, birds and other animals.
