Vince is a wonderful coach! He is incredibly attentive to the needs of all skill levels in class, and strikes an awesome balance of breaking down techniques while still offering challenging combos to those ready for them. Beginners will feel seen and not left out, while more advanced students will continuously grow in their skills. Vince’s passion and deep respect for martial arts shines through in his classes—a real honor to experience!

Coach Vince is a great instructor and is accepting of all skill levels. Highly recommend especially if you've always wanted to get into boxing or kickboxing but have been intimidated. Whether you've never thrown a punch or kick or have been doing it for years you'll pick up something.

Coach Vince is a knowledgeable and very experienced instructor, who makes every class enjoyable and informative. I joined his boxing class a few months ago, and I have improved expontentially and gained confidence in that time. Coach Vince is patient and attentive to his students and accommodating to all skill levels. I look forward to his classes because not only do I learn a lot, but I have fun as well. I highly recommend NorCal KBX.

Vince is great! If you are interested in improving your skills and learning proper techniques, he is the coach for you! I've taken a couple of his group classes, and semi-privates for about 1.5 years. As a complete beginner when I started with him, he was great at making the learning process fun and accessible and its very cool to be working on new, more advanced (at least for me!) skills now. If you are willing to put in the time, Vince will take you far! It's very clear he loves what he does and he's great working with all levels and ages.

During my last decade of training in martial arts, Coach Vince has been one of my favorites. His experience with traditional and non-traditional styles give his students a diverse pool of techniques to learn from that can really encourage creativity and adaptability in their execution. I’ve been to several kickboxing gyms and they often teach the same predictable techniques across all of them. Fun and technical, Vince is a fantastic coach and I would 100% recommend him to anyone in all age ranges.

Norcal KBX is one of the more surprising investments in my health I've made. Surprising, because I signed up for boxing courses, expecting to be taught boxing. And I was! But I also picked up some kickboxing, I also had some Sanshou thrown in, not to mention Taekwondo. The information you get from Coach Vince is an unfiltered reflection of his vast knowledge across the _spectrum_ of martial arts and self-defense. You don't get a half-considered generalist perspective, each tidbit of cross-discipline information comes as a _synthesis_ of that greater study. He's truly invested in helping people not just become better boxers, or kickboxers, or practitioners of any single discipline. Coach Vince truly wants to help people become better martial artists, and where I expected to find option paralysis, I now see inspiration. You really can't help but learn when you're at Norcal KBX.

I took Vince's class years ago. His teaching helped me to build solid skills and fall in love with martial arts. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue taking training sessions due to moving, but I would definitely take his training classes again if I could! highly recommend you to try!!

My son has been in the program since he was 5. He is now 9. Being in the program allowed him to set goals, respect his Subumnin (coach Vince) and his peers. My son is learning to try his best and get better because of the testing to get to the next belt colors. My son knows when he doesn't practice is when his Subumnin notices and fails him. These are great lessons for him in the future. It keeps my son humble and at the same time confident when it is deserved. My son has a lot more to learn in Taekwondo and coach Vince is preparing him well. He is having a lot of fun and reaping all the benefits of learning martial arts.

Vince is a coach and martial arts educator like no other. He's very experienced, smart, kind and extremely observant - careful to correct stances, anticipate issues, explain the logic behind different movements and exercises, and is an encouraging and empathetic teacher. Martial arts can be intimidating and frustrating when you don't get started with the right foundations - proper form, proper body positioning, proper mental expectations. As an absolute beginner, I wanted to learn the basics well, and I was so lucky to meet with and learn from Coach Vince. Anyone who gets to work with him or his team are very fortunate. Happy learning!

I originally signed up my 11 year old for lessons with Vince and found that I couldn't sit on the bench any longer! So I signed up myself too and I am really glad I did. Vince is an amazing instructor with the ability to see and explain clearly what needs to be improved upon. The classes are well rounded with taekwondo and boxing techniques and a great mix of ages. I definitely recommend this class.

Vince is an incredible instructor. He is passionate, knowledgeable and empathetic. I trained with him 1 on 1 in kickboxing for a number of years and couldn’t imagine learning from anyone else. His teaching style is heavily focused on technique with cardio as an equal focus. One of his strongest traits is his ability to provide analogies to help you better understand a technique. I highly recommend both private instruction and classes that Vince teaches.

Vince is a great mix of things. He's super attentive to his students, what they need, how they are doing, and how to best get them to internalize what he is trying to teach them. He has been in the martial arts universe for a long time and really knows his stuff. I appreciate how he can dial in on a person's technique in a way that is 100% constructive and encouraging, but also to the point and unambiguous. He clearly wants what is best for his students while also keeping a high standard for excellence in skills and technique.

Vince is a great instructor with a wide range of martial arts experience. He's welcoming to everyone, and happy to meet you at whatever your fitness level is. Definitely recommend training with him!

I have trained with Coach Vince for five years, with a heavy emphasis on kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do. Having previously trained at other schools, I cannot understate how much I appreciate Coach Vince's passion for the sport and the art. His school is more focused on learning and inclusion than it is on brutal regimen of repetition. He will assign homework - techniques, combinations, shadowboxing drills - that allow you to work on your own to continue to grow. And in class, the drills, sparring, and even conditioning is deliberate and well-thought out. Nothing is done pointlessly, and lessons are tailored to the class growth with room for individual variation.

👍👍 The coaches and students here have made me feel completely welcomed from day 1. I've been attending the beginners Jiu Jitsu class for nearly a month now, and could not be happier with the instruction from Mike, the head coach. 😐 They keep raising their prices so I can't really recommend PRS any more. For that price you could get an Equinox membership. Saturday "open mat" has drop in fees. Large facility, but still crowded. BJJ: The BJJ coach Joe is a blackbelt and all around amazing person. Joe gets 5 stars in my book....
