Has a very lovely outdoor seating area upstairs surrounded by grape vines. We went on a Friday afternoon and they were able to accommodate a party of 16. The food was delicious. Had the special, pesto risotto with chicken and pine nuts.

The following is a yearly 2023 update to my review of trellis Restaurant in Menlo Park Key points- Excellent ambience Staff are very knowledgeable Fantastic recommendations Consistently excellent service I like to re-review restaurants yearly if they are exceptionally good and trellis is a great example of this upon calling to make a reservation I am politely greeted and make my reservation with ease when I get to the restaurant the ambience fantastic the art and the classic Italian patio with fresh grapes growing on the vine cannot beat a great venue this restaurant is an excellent choice for date night or a romantic evening once again trellis restaurant did not disappoint the appetizers were amazing I ordered the recommended entree and the paired wine recommended by the waiter food and wine was fantastic dessert was out of this world this is one of those restaurants that consistently does a fantastic job of providing a great Ambience great venue and overall great experience for an excellent night out I will be coming back next year for another review

Poor service, médiocre food, overpriced wines. The lamb chop was flavorless. The item with shrimp and scallops was pretty decent.

Excellent service provided by Jorge and the entire staff at The Trellis. Their rooftop outdoor dining is a hidden gem in Menlo Park, with patio lighting and heaters. (Free parking is available in the back after 6pm) The menu is extensive with authentic Italian food, all prepared to order. Save room for dessert that is all made in-house! Wine is available by the glass or bottle with choices of Italian or domestic from CA. The Trellis has two full bars and delicious cocktails prepared by experienced bartenders. Recommend starting with the Calamari appetizer. The filet mignon was accompanied by au-gratin potatoes and mixed vegetables, while the pan seared scallops were served with orzo and mixed vegetables. Will definitely return to try more of their menu!

Food, wine, and service were all good. Rooftop terrace was a nice option.

Excellent linguine vongole. Also excellent service. The only thing I would improve is the level of air conditioning. It was a bit warmer than I prefer however not warm enough to cause perspiration.

Beautiful outdoor patio and great service

Great food. Absolutely great authentic recipes, perfect portion sizes, fresh salads, good wine selection. It was dead when we visited and yet service was a little spotty, however it was the Warriors playoff game so I think that explains both things. I would recommend.

This is a nice restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere, with really great service. Our waiter was very attentive. Our busser was also very attentive. He kept the table clear and ensured all of our needs were taken care of. Food and wine were both excellent. Fillet extremely tender. Wine selections also good. Had chocolate mousse and cappuccino for dessert. Will visit again.

Fantastic service, food and wine list! Our waiter was an absolute delight and very attentive. Lovely spot for a date night or meet up with family and friends. The Apple and goat cheese salad was refreshing, as was the chicken, don’t skip dessert! The tiramisu was delish. So glad we gave this place a try, authentic Italian food with a great vibe. Staff that takes pride in their service. Truly a delight to dine here with Murat as our server, he went above and beyond and it was such a treat. Also the upstairs patio is lovely!

Nice northern Italian restaurant with delicious food, huge portion, and attentive staffs. We enjoy the salmon, spaghetti bolongese, and pesto pasta. We feel welcomed and well served. Good wine list. Nice setting. If you want to sit in the patio, you should make a reservation.

A little jewel in Menlo Park with dining on the roof. Everyone was surprised when I brought them here to dine. I've live in MP for 68 years, Been going to Trellis for decades. Right on ECR Elegant dining.

Lovely Italian food, fun wine list, spirited service!

Such a friendly place with fantastic food. We are not from this area, but were at this restaurant for a catered celebration of life lunch. The staff was dynamite, the food top shelf, and the venue very warm and inviting. Great place to have our event.

We reserved the outdoor rooftop patio for my dad’s 80th birthday and the venue and staff were so fabulous and wonderful!!!! The food was delicious, drinks were good (I’m told as I didn’t drink), allergies were accommodated, flexible seating, fussy kids were treated so well, I can’t say enough about how amazing Trellis is. Kurt was fantastic to work with and I highly recommend this place for large groups. It was private, beautiful, sunny and warm; we didn’t even need heat lamps in December! Though there are a bunch of heat lamps just in case. Waiters were so professional and excellent customer service. Would totally host another event there.

This excellent Italian restaurant can easily be missed by motorists driving along El Camino Real in Menlo Park, CA. Inside it is spacious and occupied by a team of employees who provide absolutely delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. They have a can-do attitude towards any special cooking or ingredients' requests and guests are made to feel like they are to most important people in the restaurant. Considering the quality of food and service, I was surprised by how reasonable the bill was! I'm looking forward to my next visit there!

Been here twice and I love it. The pasta variety is great. Tasteful wines. The king salmon is perfectly cooked and the sauce they add on it is unique. The staff is so friendly it feels like having dinner at home. Even the complimentary bread is amazing.

We were hungry and arrived before they officially opened for the night. The graciously seated us and served an outstanding meal. The service was wonderful. If we lived in the Bay Area we would make it our go to restaurant.

Restaurant was pretty empty midweek at 1pm. Typical Italian food it was good hard to mess it up. We got spaghetti and regatoni - lots of cheese, lots of sauce, lots of calories :) Service was good except there were a bit of spills here and there - luckily just iced tee and sauce on the table didn't hit anything, but you don't want Italian food to make contact with your cloths ;)

The response by the owner as to why a bread basket was not delivered in a timely manner and a non delivery of parmesan cheese that was offered, and never delivered is because bread is brought to the table with your order. As for the cheese, it should not have been offered and therefore not delivered. It was a surprising, disappointing and unacceptable response to receive from the owner of this establishment.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants. However, they started charging 20% of gratitude, which is very rare. Would not plan to go back.

Amazing service! I felt like I was in Italy! The canola was the best I have had in a long time. The Grapple and cappuccino were a perfect end to a perfect meal. The veal saltimbocca was delicious! I would definitely find my way to Stone Street in the Financial District to experience this restaurant!

Good food, great atmosphere, fresh ingredients. My friend had a pasta which was delicious she said. A little bit on the expensive side but worth a visit. Service could be a little more attentive. Tiramisu was indulging!

Good selection of Italian dishes and nice wine list as well. Our group of 4 enjoyed the spaghetti, the shrimp, the pasta carbonara and the Italian sausage. All were excellent and service was fast and polite. We finished the evening with apple torte and spumoni iced cream. We will be back to enjoy other selections on the menu.
