Just a generally unpleasant place to be. The staff is always rude, and yells at customers as if that will help things work out better. What's worse is there's clearly a lot of immigrants here trying to get their documentation sorted out, so their English isn't the best. Hearing DMV employees just shout at non-native English speakers is incredibly rude and inconsiderate and borderline racism. If someone cannot understand you clearly, try explaining it in simpler terms instead of just scolding them. The employees here seem to have a complete lack of disregard for any form of customer service.

Went there to get a RealID card for my daughter. The guy at Window 14 had a nicely decorated Christmas tree 🎄 and was the friendliest customer service person I've met in a long time. 👍😃 Getting the paperwork work done was a snap. Walked up to window when called, introduce the kid and state why were here. Hand over printout, birth certificate, PG&E bill and DMV car registration to establish residency. Pay fee. Done. Then go have kid get photo taken. With an appointment, we were done in about 30 minutes. Easy. 😎

Fabulous. My boss passed his test! The outside waiting area accommodations are excellent. Very clean and dog-friendly. Well-laid out parking lot, conveniently located next to a donut shop that will make you wish you had not skipped breakfast. I'm certain there will be laptop charging stations in the near future. Maybe even outdoor heaters for chilly days with longer waits. The curbs are prominent and a great bench style seat - Superb for a temp WFH office so you can multitask while the boss takes care of the important things. Pack your lunch because after an hour those donuts will be calling your name! Bring a light jacket. Larry and I weren't prepared so with the sub 50 temps we got the shivers after just 15 min. Your laptop sleeve can double as a seat cushion for the curb. Waiting isn't so bad if your resourceful. That's what good bosses do after all! Creativity leads to Productivity. Best day ever! "Waiting at the DMV" has been transformed. Waiting in line at the DMV ->OUTSIDE! New favorite thing! ooo, WFH, PTO..... #newworkmode'23 : Curbin' it (inspired by my amazing boss) Don't forget to hit play. See how cute Larry is when shivering. Can't wait for his new boat reg!

If someone feels the same, please press like to highlight and help others won't be the next victim in the road test/ behind wheel test here. There are at least 3 examiners here as I saw, 1 woman and 2 men. The man with an obviously overweight look(just for identification, no offense) will fail you with a "deducted mistake" as a "critical driving error" (rather than a deduction). Example: Just ONCE inaccurate shoulder check was deemed to fail the road test, not one deduction. I have my score sheet as evidence of this disproportionate judgment. In the end he repeatedly kept telling me to come back again, as if he’d be happy to see me again. But I totally don’t. I really hope to never see him and his unfair and unprofessional ugly attitude again in my life, preferably off the face of the earth. Not sure if he is racial or sexist, after all it's hard to prove with one's tone or eyes as they’re despicable; however, it probably has abused its power. Unlike the stereotyped impression of my skin color, I have been driving in my country for 5 years, and have zero record of accidents or any violation. Certainly, I fully understand that a test is a test, but I just want a fair and consistent standard, not a subjective judgment by feeling. However, after he disproportionately failed me, I changed the test as my friend has similar experience. Till I passed the test elsewhere, I realized that those kinds of mistakes are usually only 1 or 2 points deducted, not fail at all. It's more reasonable to suspect that he failed me on purpose for some shady reason. So I’m here to leave a message, and hope those who feel the same can leave messages, or press like to help highlight this problem. Maybe your record can one day be part of changing this toxically unfair system. Your message may make more people aware and less people victimized. After all, the one with power should not abuse it arbitrarily, especially when there is no supervision. Also, no one will make up for your lost time, schedule disruption, and money. When you need time in your job and the country needs productivity, it is necessary to reform those who drain other people's energy. They are stealing from the country and everyone. Why should we pay for their salary? If the examiner really judges unfairly, then good luck to him in the endlessly inhumanely painful torture in hell judgment. I won't be surprised if someone will accidentally hurt him one day.

One of the nicer DMVs I’ve been to. They have an online ‘get in queue’ system that lets you join the queue once you submit the applications online. You get a token number and can directly go in when token is called. No need to wait in line even if you dont have an appointment. I used this process and it made it fairly smooth. I was able to go to the center when my place in line was approaching. The non appointment line was otherwise very long. The staff were pretty courteous. Special shout out to the agent taking the photograph. She was very sweet with my 3year old. She went the extra mile to help a lot of folks and was warm and nice. In short its easy and fast if you do as many things online as possible and just go in person for the presenting the documents and getting the picture. The experience would have been miserable if I’d gone in without doing anything online and waited in line.

This is my second visit to this DMV field office for renewing my Real ID, and once again, the staff was courteous and efficient. They provided prompt service, and the wait time was significantly shorter compared to other nearby DMVs. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

After going to Santa Clara DMV which is the places that should be shut down immediately! Los Gatos DMV is the best place to go, even a little bit far to me. They have super nice staff that’s really helpful.

Moved from out of state and had to get a CA driver's license. I had made an appt online but could not make it due to something coming up at work. I went in 2 hours after my appointment but the representative/employee at the entrance was understanding. He reviewed my docs and confirmation number and told me I could still get seen via the appointment waiting line. The representative who processed my paperwork was welcoming and efficient. I came in for a driver's license but had questions about vehicle registration, too. She did not rush me even though it was 4 minutes after her lunch break and took the time to kindly explain to me what I would need to fill out for my car registration. She also helped me get in the fast lane for vehicle registration so I wouldn't have to go to the back of the line after my driver's license test. I could tell everyone was trying to accommodate and make it a pleasant visit for customers at Los Gatos DMV. It started getting busier around 2 so I would recommend visiting early if you can to avoid long wait lines.

Going to the DMV is usually a major hassle. However, the LG DMV is as painless as it gets. Is all about the staff. They make you feel like they are there to help you and do a great job! They are a fun group to boot. Kudos to the staff and management.

I can't believe it. Finally, a positive DMV experience. My hubby and I went for 2 different things and both were positive experiences. At least the people who helped us were very quick and thorough. I had to renew my license. Got it done in 35min, No hassle and I didn't have an appt. My husband was getting an old license plate (under my maiden name) reinstated with a new car. That was more work, but they all worked together to get it done. We were very happy with this visit.

They are nice there compared to other DMVs. I noticed DMV workers are not happy working in DMV or maybe they are just unhappy, period. Work is work. But people are still trying to do customer service even if they are nit happy. But this DMV is not bad at all. Another thing I noticed which is not particular to this branch is there's no special lane for senior citizen. I feel bad seeing g old people standing in line for a long time. Another thing is, I noticed there's lots of people there that has an appointment and they're standing outside cause they are early for their appointment. I think they can be serve once they arrive especially those people that does not have appointment are going faster than them

Best DMV in town! I was dealing with Santa Clara DMV (would give them negative 5 stars if I could because nobody knows what is going on) and I spent hours and hours on multiple visits there. Went to Los Gatos DMV out of exasperation, booked an online appointment with almost no wait time, got everything resolved in 5minutes. I was stunned by how inconsistent the standards are across DMVs but definitely recommend this one.

It was very crowded, long line, luckily I had an online appointment, so I lined up on shorter line, the whole process took me about an hour. If going without an appointment, it's best to get there past 11am, the line will be much shorter. Los Gatos DMV is highly recommended if you need to make an online appointment, the rest of the DMVs are very busy, no appointments 'till next month.

Line was out the door for non-appointments but moved pretty quick, about 30 minutes to get a number. Pretty smooth process considering it's a DMV. 4 stars because the get in line option on the website is utterly pointless and you still have to stand in the non-appointment line. Try to be patient and remember the folks behind the counter are people with feelings. They were all pretty nice, and all it took was some patience and a decent attitude.

Compare to the other South Bay Area DMV, my experience here is way better. The reception people were more polite. Workers were more efficient. I walked in at 11am. There were 30 people in front of me. I renewed my license within 3 hours. Not too bad.

Not happy with today's experience. We were in a line since 1:40pm for our 2:20pm appointment for a Drive Test. In our last visit the DMV served people in an order of first come first serve. This time at station 6 and station 9, they served people by appointment time even people came late then their scheduled time. While we followed their different rules at different time, we were moved around for about half an hour in the line. The problem was after they served all the people who could confirm us in the line and let them leave, the DMV wanted to move us to the end of the line simply because a person who came away behind after us said she didn't see us in the line. Three DMV ladies moved us back and forth for about half an hour, each of them don't know what the other lady did, then the last DMV lady wanted to move us to the end of line. That's was very odd. And that made us very unhappy about their service.

I had to come here for license renewal and had to come with my two month old baby. They had no compassion, were unprofessional, and some of them were extremely rude. I had to spend here over three hours because of several mistakes they did with my documents and issues they had with their system. No one likes to go to the DMV but when you absolutely have to, they could at least be professional and understanding when they see a young mom with a crying two month old on her hands.

True 5 stars...the lady up front was working two lines ( appointment and non) super patient...against all odd balls, types of people. Some behind the counter peps were less worthy. But all in all LG DMV is my go-to

Very pleasant and fast experience! I had to address an error on a title after purchasing a vehicle. I wasn’t sure how to do it on my own. I did not have to wait long for my number to be called. The person helping me was very nice and explained my options, then helped me fill out the paperwork. She was very friendly and fast at processing the paperwork. Thank you!

This review is for the driving test instructor who refused to administrate the test for my daughter because we didn’t have a face mask (?!) in the car. There were no clear instructions that a mask was required, and besides, even if it were required, in most of the institutions today they are happy to provide one for you if you don’t have it with you. Not in this DMV apparently:( It looked like the guy was simply looking for an excuse not to work. To be fair, I would just like to say that our experience up to the actual driving test was generally pleasant - the staff were efficient and professional for the most part. Too bad that their reputation depends on people like this driving instructor.

this was the best DMV experience I’ve ever had. today i had to come in last minute without an appointment (expecting to be here for hours) but left within 30 minutes! also thankful for the kind staff who helped me through everything.

The BEST DMV my husband and I ever had service at. Both my husband and I went earlier this year to finally get out Real IDs, Star was the person who really helped us get through the application. My second time here was to renew my registration because the kiosks I’ve tried renewing my registration at were “…not able to process payment…”, weird and very, very frustrating. As soon as I received a service ticket at this office, my wait for service was not long at all, less than 5 minutes of wait and was called to the window. Got my renewal and was probably at the DMV for less than 20 minutes. Staff here are great people. Friendly, kind, and service-oriented human beings 🤗👍.

This is the best DMV that I found!!! I went to Santa Clara, Capitola and they have a really rude customer service for everything. But in Los Gatos when you arrive here they are friendly, they kidding friendly with my son when I am waiting in the non appointment line and makes our time in the line relax. When we passed with the customer service in the window he was so friendly and trying to attend us in our language, SUPER FRIENDLY!!! They explained all that I need very KIND and that is the most important thing to makes feel good all people. We appreciate this amazing attention, thank you!!!

They charge you annual registration fee, yet they refuse to take payments at the DMV. I was referred to a kiosk in some Safeway, miles away. And obviously the kiosk didn't work. So frustrated that i forgot to take a pic of useless kiosk too. BTW, they charge you about 2% extra to pay with debit card. Thank you DMV! 🤬

For a DMV, Los Gatos is very good, as long as YOU have YOUR stuff together. I recommend making an appointment ahead of time to save yourself a lot of waiting. I had an appointment for 1:50 and arrived early. Was checked in, picture taken and out of there by 1:49 p.m. the staff at the Los Gatos DMV is very experienced and good at their jobs . Again make an appointment in advance to save yourself a ton of waiting. I was able to get my appointment after filling out the online application first within 2 days. Everything went fantastic today, I wish I had got the lady's name to give her a shout out she was very nice. The DMV has really transformed a lot, in a positive way since I got my first license and vehicle registrations back in 19 80 Something.
