Salt yard was lovely. A really good choice for some higher end tapas options. A really good selection of dishes that were surprising but also comforting and tasty. I would recommend the squid and the croquettes. The staff were friendly. It’s a bit pricey but as expected for this quality of restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and highly recommend it. It is a higher end small plate tapas restaurant. We had 5 dishes, flatbread and a desert for the two of us and that was plenty. The flavors and sauces are excellent. Definitely order a flatbread as it is great to get the last bit of the sauces. We started with the smoked burrata and asparagus. Followed by the chorizo, salmon and pork belly. Our favorite was the grilled chorizo. I tend toward vegetarian but I enjoyed all the dishes. If you like chocolate, don’t miss the chocolate fondant. I could have ordered another!!

Really enjoyed our dinner here, loved how the waitress said “I think that should be enough on your order” in case we had no space for dessert (there were two of us and we ordered 8 items) instead of letting us over order. Very well prepared dishes with nice experimental mix of flavours. All were delicious but the top 3 from our 8 I think were the pork belly, grilled octopus and duck. The charcuterie platter had a nice mix of meats. The cocktails were yummy too! We had the mains with a beautiful carafe of Tempranillo suggested by the waitress. Happy to return again in future.

We had a lovely dinner at Salt yard, the service was excellent, especially Giulia was fantastic. We enjoyed most of the dishes, but the prawns were not fresh "basically frozen," and the squid arrived cold at the table. The venison, beef tartare, and duck were delicious, and the cheesecake with a drizzle of truffle honey was exquisite. I would recommend only the meat or vegetarian tapas and desserts.

Easily one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had in a long time! Everything was stellar, from the food and drinks to the service. Lovely atmosphere inside with tables and bar seats, as well as some tables outside. Service was friendly and everything arrived in good time. The food was absolutely delicious, but also just really good fun to eat. The plates all had bold colours and flavours and smells; it was a proper feast for the senses! I find that fine dining can sometimes feel quite repressed and restrained, even if the food itself is exquisite. But Saltyard have managed to create a casual dining experience that still delivers exceptional food. We tired about 10 different things and every single plate was excellent, but if we had to pick our favourites they would probably be the burrata, the courgette flowers, the pork belly and the honey ice cream. The drinks too were all very good, but the Sgroppino was on another level. Without a shadow of a doubt the most delicious drink I've had in recent memory. The perfect balance of sweetness and acidity in the lemon sorbet that gives way to a wonderful mellow floral aroma from the chamomile and the prosecco. It was just brilliant! With regard to pricing, I have to admit that my initial reaction upon seeing the bill was one of shock, but when we actually broke it down we were pleasantly surprised. Excluding service it came out to about £50 per person, which is pretty good considering the central London location and the quality of the food. Bear in mind that we splurged and had a lot to eat and drink, so it is absolutely possible to have a meal here for quite a bit less than that. Overall I genuinely don't think I can find fault with any aspect of our meal, which is something I don't often get to say. If you're looking for a fun, flavour-filled dinner and drinks then I cannot recommend this place enough! Edit: I'm still thinking about that f**king drink on the train home; I already want another one!

TL;DR: Not worthy of the Bib Gourmand designation I was very disappointed with Salt Yard. We ordered five items and had mixed feelings about the food. Having been to a few other Bib Gourmand rated restaurants, I had high expectations going in. Our order was as follows: Courgette Flower, Slow-cooked Loch Duart Salmon, Burrata, Octopus & the Pork Belly. Of the five items the Courgette Flower and Burrata were my favorites. Both dishes were quite nice, although I felt that they were a bit heavy with the honey on the Courgette Flower. The salmon was also good. The last two dishes, the octopus and pork belly, were disappointing. The octopus was overdone to the point that part of the tentacle was hard and dry. The octopus also wasn't very tender. As for the pork belly, I knew I was in trouble when I had to ask the server for a steak knife to try and cut through the skin. And I do mean "try" because the steak knife couldn't even cut all the way through. The pork was also tough. Service was a bit off the mark as well. I didn't appreciate that they charged for water even if you order still. This fact wasn't brought to our attention when the server asked what kind of water we wanted. There is also a 12.5% service charge which wasn't made clear at the onset of the meal. All in all, Salt Yard underwhelmed.

Absolutely amazing each and every time - I genuinely can't recommend them enough. Their dishes are always special and the presentation is absolutely beautiful - I guarantee that you won't be able to get them anywhere else. You can absolutely tell that the chef has an amazing palate as well, their flavour combinations are just something special - some of them shouldn't work but they 100% do. The place has great ambiance and lovely staff as well, I really can't say anything bad about them!

The restaurant is one step away to a big shopping mall. The lady helped us with the menu since it was our first experience in a tapas restaurant. She also explained to us how certain items are cooked since my friend is allergic to some ingredients. She was very helpful and also made Great recommendations. They also serve homemade lemonade which was so refreshing. The food was delicious. You can opt to order a few dishes and you can order more along the way. Lovely experience and tasty food .

Just popped in on a whim and sat at the bar. Lovely, friendly people. The chorizo and fabada was superb. The octopus excellent, but just lacking slightly the punch needed to make it stand out. Was expecting a greater selection of Spanish reds by the glass. I would nonetheless return here often. Very cozy, small, warm and intimate. Quite loud.

Salt yard has been on my list places I’ve wanted to go to for a while now so I was pleased when we had the chance to go with some visiting relatives. We were sat downstairs with a view into the kitchen (which I enjoyed, as I got to see the buzz and the food coming out). We ordered a range of items for the 5 of us and overall the food was delicious, every dish had its own distinct and well paired flavours. Who thought a grilled lettuce would be so good! Service was ok, I felt that our waiter might have been a little too busy as he had the whole lower ground floor to contend with. It’s meant drinks often ran dry. The only other issue was that the churros were a bit overdone, but otherwise everything else was cooked perfectly. I’d definitely go back if we get the chance as the menu seems to change with the seasons. If you do go soon, the lamb was great (I think we were lucky, when we were ordering we were told they ran out, but half way through it came back on the menu so we ordered it), the baby gem was also fantastic.

Enjoyed the tapas here, very good. Customer service was good once we were moved to a better table. Initially placed on a table by the thoroughfare by the stairs, but my husband asked for a better table, at first the waitress said they were fully booked (even though there were clearly empty tables) but another lady stepped in and then we were moved downstairs to a lovely booth. Hence the 4 stars, otherwise would have been 5 stars.

I really enjoyed the food here. It's quite authentic Spanish food many in tapas form. The staff is lovely. The wine list is very good with fantastic food pairings. You can eat at the bar which is really good if you're on your own.

A nice experience overall. I would recommend trying Salt Yard it if you’ve never been, but although I enjoyed it, for me it’s not the type of restaurant i’d want to go back to multiple times over and over again

Brilliant tapas restaurant! Grilled octopus leg is wonderful! Love their grilled pepper as well. It’s a bit pricy but worth a try.

Pleasant Italian/spanish style tapas. We did the tasting/sharing menu and added a few other dishes. Highlights were the prawns and the chorizo. Good wine and service good too. A little slow at times but good overall!

Lovely little place for a plethora of delicious wine and some decent small plates. Service was excellent, a bit slow at times but overall friendly and attentive. We ate a fair few, all the dishes we had were pleasant but I’d definitely recommend the; - Tempura courgette flower - Grilled octopus with garbanzo stew I hear the croquetas were amazing but I didn’t get to try those. If you’re not drinking much wine, the prices are reasonable… but certainly runs up if you want a few glasses!

Food delish. Service good. Large rowdy group of men near us slightly ruined the ambience of our romantic night but I suppose that can’t be helped. We enjoyed ourselves though

Booked a table of 12 for our Christmas Dinner and had a great spot downstairs. The service, food and atmosphere were all great and we had a fantastic time!! Thanks to the Salt Yard team for making it a memorable Christmas. Will definitely be going back.

It's an awesome tapas restaurant. Great selection of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, tried some from each category, wasn't disappointed. Bit pricey but it's central London so what can you do😅

I managed to be seated without a reservation here, the staff were incredibly attentive, polite and respectful, they made this place so pleasant to visit. The highlight of my order was the gambas pil pil and the flatbread if I could eat that everyday, I would! The black squid ink risotto was unusual, rich in flavour but the crisp yet soft texture was lovely with the perfectly fried calamari. Wasn't too much of a fan of the octopus and the patatas bravas, the goats cheese fried courgette flower wasn't to my taste either. The buratta was a little sickly too but again these are just based off my pallete and not to say somebody else won't enjoy them. Presentation was beautiful for everything and the service was quick

Came with high expectations but left feeling somewhat disappointed with the food. The pork belly tasted Chinese, chorizo was too oily and the courgette flower a tad overrated. The charcuterie board was okay. Waiter tried to charge for additional wine we did not have. Please check your bills.

The food and drinks were good, we had a selection of things from the menu and everything tasted good. The place lost stars because of its service, I think they were understaffed. The waitress ordered one wrong dish, we decided not to change it and the wrong dish was good. But also we had to flag the waitress down later in the evening to order dessert and get the bill as nobody was checking in on us. Could have been really good if it wasn’t for the inconsistent service.
