The only positive is that the really small pizzas were at least tasty. The waitress had told us that the size is small and people usually get more than one. However,the prices are so high that I did not want to spend more at this restaurant. The decoration is nice as well, but it was so noisy that you couldn't have a proper conversation with your company. It seems a classy restaurant but in reality it's not. Music is loud, people are loud. We just ate our tapas and left immediately.

We set down and were immediately informed that the portions are small and that most people order 2/3 dishes which we thought was weird considering the price. We ordered two bruschettas and a terra platter. Although the bruschettas were quite nice, the terra platter is literally 8 pieces of salami (4 kinda x 2) with about 8 breadsticks the size of chopsticks. For the mains we ordered black ravioli, lobster risotto and the beef tagliata with truffle potatoes. The black ravioli is 15£ and, apart from being absolutely appalling, you only get 3 pieces (don’t know if thats a good thing considering their taste). The lobster risotto was okay, but, again, small, but we were warned about that. I ordered the beef tagliata medium, but got it well done to the point it looked like a tree. I ordered truffle potatoes, but got fries. I told the waiter, who took the dishes and brought them out again…the “truffle potatoes” were just the fries they took from my table and put a bit of cheese and 2/3 slices of black truffle on top. The meat was cooked properly this time, but very small in size and severely underseasoned. To finish things off, I found what look to be sugar in my wine, to which I was told is wine sediment by the, most likely, the manager. We paid in full (and were charged 10% service charge) as we are not the ones to usually complain, but for a restaurant that claims to offer fine italian dining…this is not it. The waiters are nice and outgoing tho, but MAKE YOUR FOOD RIGHT IF YOU WANT TO CHARGE THOSE PRICES. The bill was 110£, I’ll put the pictures (without the tagliata as it was being remade).

Was looking at the menu outside and a patron advise us not to patronise it (was not sure what he meant but I think it was something about the food portion). We went ahead anyway, the food and service were decent. However the food portion was really small for main course, more like tapas size. I was surprise to only see 3 pieces of ravioli for my order. The place was also extremely rowdy and noisy for a dinner date. get that it won't be quiet on a Friday evening since there's a bar but I had to literally shout that day to my friend sitting across the table.

Fumo has the best service of any restaurant I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Impressive given it was full to capacity. The serving staff are instinctual and perceptive. The food is fun and sweet tasting. Fumo offers an interesting slant on food delivery: it’s tapas, Italian style. Good for groups and good for a fancy night out given the opulent cocktail bar decor. Quality of food is excellent and delivery is super quick. Being an Italian restaurant it we ride not to have an espresso based coffee before departing. Very impressive.

We are in the area and staying just up the road at the Grand Hotel. We walked around and found this restaurant. Service was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived at the door. We didn't have a reservation, but the lady on the door quickly found us a table. The waiters and waitresses were all very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu. Making suggestions on what to order and how much to order. The food was delicious, all freshly made and perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you!

my husband and I went out for lunch and decided to try this restaurant. The place is very nice and elegant, the waitress who took care of us was very kind, she warned us how the menu worked, so far so good, until the dishes arrived, the meat that my husband ordered has arrived cold, while my plate arrived after a good 15 minutes. on top of that we paid a fairly salty price for cold food and very small portions, plus we paid £ 9 for a bottle of still water. Highly recommend if you can go eat somewhere else save your money for very poor food

Really nice place, clean and friendly. Obviously not halal so opted with the Margherita pizza and the chips. One of the nicest pizza’s I’ve had. Price is decent, they do recommend ordering more since portion is small but personally I didn’t need to. I enjoyed it.

Loud and chaotic, not my vibe for a restaurant but others may like it as it has a bar etc. A slight partition from bar with quieter music would give a better ambience for dining customers. After sorting out the bill, we left at 8.50, so obviously time slots weren't that rigid and waiters could've been flexible and accommodating. Visited yesterday for lunch for our 20th wedding anniversary. The service was really good and a nice touch with the desert at the end, but in all honesty the tapas dishes were very average. Dishes were quite salty especially the monkfish, and not really worth the £112 we paid for the tapas and drinks. We eat out alot in birmingham in lovely restaurants, and in my opinion we have had much better food in cheaper places. We did pay the bill as we aren't complainers but sadly we would not return. Really disappointed after recommendations to book :(

Myself and my companion had a lovely visit yesterday evening to Franco Manca. They don’t take bookings so we just joined the virtual queue as we arrived and put in details. We were seated straight away, and was a good distance from other diners. Service was friendly and pizzas were to perfection! I customised my pizza with vegan cheese, wild mushrooms, wild spinach and artichokes- would highly recommend, also get the chilli oil on the side to soak into the crust!

I phoned the Birmingham branch on 12/12/20. I wanted to place an order for collection but was told that the restaurant is too busy and I have to place my order online. Well, I went online and placed my order. The collection time was 19:30. I arrived a bit earlier - 19:20 - and saw that the restaurant was not busy at all. The waitress pointed out that my order will be available at 19:30, implying that I showed up to early. I asked if it is possible to collect pizza earlier since I've already arrived. She said she needs to check with the pizza maker. The pizza maker agreed to make the pizza earlier. My pizzas were ready at 19:26, just 4 minutes before the estimated collection time. During the time when thousands of people are out of work and struggle financially, your Birmingham team could have been more friendly when dealing with customers! Edit: After submitting my feedback to Franco Manca, Simone from Customer Service got in touch with me and was very sorry about the events of my experience. I am pleased to know that my feedback did not go unnoticed.

Good authentic Italian pizza for a low price. Enough space for social distancing, there were also clear panels between some tables! The decor was very nice, with a big pizza cooker in the middle of the restaurant! Wish they had a bigger variety of flavours though.

Lovely pizza , really authentic and delicious. Would recommend to anyone thats around town as flavour is amazing, fresh authentic and on top of that affordable prices even less expensive then Pizza Express. Really enjoyed the service lovely waitresses that welcome u with a smile, plenty of space for social distancing so safe to eat to , decor is amazing , over all amazing experience compared to other places in bullring (grand Central) that are overpriced and over rated. Beautiful food & just the right amount of attention from waiting staff. Olives are so delicious & the spicy sausage starter was my favourite, I'd happily eat that as a main. The chilli & the stilton dips were lovely. We were offered free water for the table which I always appreciate. We shared the chicken & bacon salad & pizza #4 between 2 of us & it was substantial, the kids went for a picarillos meal deal & that was plenty, fairly priced too.

Sent completely the wrong order. Closed now & not answering the phone. Too late to order from somewhere else now as I have a tight window when working daily 13 hour shifts. Going to bed hungry after a tough weekend on call. How difficult is it to read the receipt on top of the boxes or check the orders? From a regular to a never again. Fortunately, Deliveroo should issue a refund without issue.

Best sourdough pizza ever !!! notably the one with Cantabrian anchovies. The Glasses however must be changed. Also, the pizza is usually overcooked with many parts burnt which is not good for health and taste.

Tiramasu was just mush, no coffee flavour running through and choco hazelnut cake was good but for £4.15, you get a tiny square and it was crying out for cream/ ice cream etc. Saving grace was the Franco salad, really nice, would definitely have that again. Just about scrapes 2 stars due to that. Maybe they just haven't adapted to delivery, as I've have eaten in a restaurant before and it was much better.

I had some mixed feelings about this restaurant. On the good side they had some really good food which was amazingly prepared and an excellent wine selection. It is in the heart of city centre and the restaurant has a really nice ambience inside. However, when we sat down we were made aware that it was a tapas restaurant. I thought it was quite interesting to mix a Spanish concept with Italian food so I stayed. We ordered one dish for each person in the group and some dishes to share, thinking we would have enough time to order some more food later as we had arrived a bit early. However, as we were finishing our dish, one of the waiters came over and told us the kitchen is closed and we cannot order anymore food which I thought was very disappointing as we did not get any warning or a chance to make a last order and especially considering the dishes were very small I was still looking to order more. I just wish they had advertised on their website they are a tapas restaurant that does Italian food.

The customer service at Fumo is excellent. The restaurant is airy and well presented. The wait staff are respectful and extremely professional. They are considerate when assessing dietary needs and will take the time to explain dishes. The meal was delicious Buffalo Mozzarella grilled roasted squash, pumpkin seed, Margherita the classic pizza of Naples with tomato, buffalo mozzarella accompanied by other side dishes. I didn’t give it 5 stars as middle of the table was sticky although we did alert staff and their were apologetic. Given the climate we are in - hygiene is paramount. That said, I would still recommend this restaurant.

I've just been to the Birmingham city centre branch. I order the ravioli lobster as well as Spanish ravioli and both got 3/4 ravioli in a small plate, this just seems like very small portion for a main. You would expect normally about at least 8 ravioli to be sufficient for a main, but 3 is just too small. We was left with disappointment with all the portions we've got and won't come back until better portion. Not only that, seems like the receptionist was treating us with little respect as well when we were asking if there is seating avaliable.

Just a heads up, do not order takeout from this restaurant! Ordered two main meals (sharing seafood plate & spaghetti) for £30 so expected there to be enough food for two people. Portion sizes were an absolute joke, but more annoyingly, the food was tasteless, undercooked and the batter on the calamari and scallops was soggy. Also ordered the seafood spaghetti with mussels, just a shame only two of the shells actually had any meat in them! Judging by all the other reviews it looks as though the problem was because it was a takeout order, but still, no excuses really, especially when you've been closed for months and had plenty of time to perfect all types of orders. Definitely wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

Ordered on Deliveroo. All the portions were very small, but I wouldn't mind if the food was good. The pizza was okay, but nothing special compared to other competitors in the area making authentic Italian pizzas at a cheaper price. Authentic carbonara is made of 4 ingredients only: egg yolk, coarse black pepper, Pecorino cheese and guanciale (pork cheek). Their carbonara had egg yolk, but with cream (maybe milk), bacon and no trace of Pecorino. The tiramisu was as dry as hay. The arancini and the mozzarella bites were probably fried from frozen and they was so much oil I had to put them on a kitchen towel sheet before we could eat them. They were dreadful, anyway. The mozzarella bites smelled like fish. I hope they don't cook everything with the same oil, because that's cross contamination. Overpriced, bad interpretation of the Italian cuisine, poor quality ingredients. The beer was cold, though.

Firstly the decor is warming and amazing looking inside and your approached by lovely staff on arrival, if my review was based on cocktails it would be 5/5 they are amazing, but it’s based on the food we had a lot of tomato based dishes and me and my friend couldn’t help but think the tomato base tasted like our kids baby food that’s just our opinion and it sure some people with beg to differ but based on food we won’t be returning. Been here before, about a month ago and the food was great although the only downside was that the women toilets were not so clean and smelled a bit as well. Came back recently and this time the toilets were clean and smelled really nice and also the black lady that is in charge of cleaning the toilet is very lovely and beautiful. Food was very tasty, and the way the menu is layout means you can try lots of different dishes. Reasonably priced for a fancy restaurant and the interior is very welcoming. However our experience was ruined by loud music which meant we were having to shout over each other. Staff weren’t overly attentive, having to ask waiting staff a couple of times for things, and even dropping our bread on the floor and not replacing it. Felt rushed by staff and the over ambience was chaotic and confusing.

Fumo, the environment is so nice, you don't need to book always, nice customer service and decoration. If you are so hungry and you go to this restaurant just know that you will be getting a little plate of food. If you have a huge appetite then your getting four plates (a receptionist literally told us this because their food is small) that's why I gave them a four star. The toilet is so clean and nice. Not sure if there is a parking space as the restaurant is on the road. And it is accessible for wheelchair people(as there is a stair chair lift(just like in care home) for those who can't use the stairs (old people or disabled people). It's an Italian restaurant and when you get your head around the fact that it serves its food in a Tapas style, its easier to understand. The pizzas are lovely and not as small as you would imagine. I had 2 pizzas and the Ravioli, more than enough. I found the food hot, tasty and enjoyable. Friendly staff and great cocktails too. There are some negative reviews, but I found it really enjoyable. Worth a visit. Remember, get Tapas in your head. Oh, and the burger isn't slider size , it's full size.

Visited with my wife for an anniversary meal. Read reviews beforehand so was prepared. Bit of a weird start being told my table wasn't ready yet, then a minute or two later was told it was. Went in and there were lots of free tables so no idea what that was about. I went at a fairly quiet time but the staff seemed to be struggling to bring stuff out. Some of the staff were nice, some were as others have said. Food was quite nice. Place was definitely better than I expected after reading reviews, but still not somewhere I'd go out of my way to return to again.

Came here for Valentines Day, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and didn’t take long and the wine list was immense. Had to take a star off due to it being such a small restaurant the tables were a little crowded and you felt like you were in the way and sometimes people walking past would knock you. Apart from that it was great.

Lovely restaurant. Recommendation is 5-6 dishes for 2 people. We shared 4 dishes and had a dessert each which we found to be sufficient. I often find that in higher end restaurants they can rush you and be less attentive if you’re not spending lots of money but, despite our obvious intention to keep it cheap (asking for tap water and less dishes than recommended), the staff were lovely and very welcoming. Cannot recommend this place enough, some of the best food I have eaten in a long time. There was a slight mishap with the atmosphere as some of the customers (a group of women) were shining a ridiculously bright light to take pictures. Though this did give my table something to chuckle at. Will definitely be coming back :). We didn't book as I accidentally booked at its sister restaurant for 10 and my girlfriend was hangry so we came to Fumo's and they were able to squeeze us in

The food was amazing. Service was polite but not friendly!! Not sure how they justify the 12.5% service charge hence why we didn’t leave a tip. Couldn’t help but notice how unimpressed the older couple at the next table were by my and my husband’s appearance, several loud comments about tattoos and if I got a pound for everytime I heard “inappropriate” I’d of got a free meal. Of course no fault of the restaurant.

Booked with fumo 6 weeks ago, as we love fumo and always had a good experience and amazing time. However, this visit was very different. Due to xmas traffic we called to say we were going to be late by at least 15mins, we were Informed this was not a problem but upon arrival waited for another 10 mins in the queue which added time. We were told our table had been given away to a walk in! Eventually after lots of debate we got a table. " oh what a mistake" . We were treated badly. We were told we only had an hour, we were rushed along and they tried to take our plates of food before we had finished. We complained about the service to the manager and said we would not pay the service charge so he snatched the bill away and then returned only to charge £200 to one card 'by mistake' however it was clear he was angry and did this on purpose. We then asked to speak to the main manager who was also rude and dismissive, we were then sworn at. We were shocked at how downhill this restaurant has gone.
