The importance itself is huge, literally this place was where Bolivia foundation took place many years ago. Therefore every detail and symbols means a lot. My issue is related how the museum is not doing effort to explain how independence got acchieved, who were the founding fathers and how Sucre were important to achieve independence. This museum must improve those issues in order to explain how freedom was acchieved. Cash only, because pandemic there are non available stuff to show, the museum is expanding. Worth to visit if you love Bolivian history. Overall 6/10, I was expecting more :(

There's no information in English, though they charge more entrance fee for foreigners. Maybe arrange a guide beforehand (when I was there, there was only a Spanish tour available) otherwise you'll just be looking at a lot of beautiful paintings and artifacts, without a context or explanation.

Bolivia's independence from Peru was sealed here. Historical building which serves as a museum.

A very beautiful place. You can only see it with a guide, but it is an interesting story. A must see in Sucre.

Amazing museum about the history of Bolivia. Our tour guide was well versed on the history and historic facts. It was both interesting and a great learning opportunity. The guide mentioned that they will be expanding the museum since they were able to purchas the house next door, so 2021 will have more exhibition rooms. This is a must visit if you want to learn more about the history of Bolivia.

Let me tell you we didn’t go inside, ticket is BOB15. But you should not be indifferent to this building since it is the birthplace of the country. The independence declaration was signed here, therefore it is remarkable for Bolivian and South America’s history. Beautifully kept colonial style building like all the others around Sucre.

Had a great time on the English tour today learning about the birthplace of Bolivia. Our guide, Mary, was very knowledgable and answered many questions asked by the group. Amazing you can get up close to artefacts and paintings hundreds of years old, the Act of Independence and a copy of the constitution written in stone!

A nice museum right in the main Sucre plaza. Great place to learn about Bolivia's struggle for independence and about it's heroes in Simon Bolivar and Sucre. It was also cool to see the Bolivian constitution up close.

The Casa de la Libertad is the old Jesuit convent were the first constituional assembly met to sign the foundation of Bolivia en 1825. You get to visit the patio and the room itself. A small museum includes some items from the freedom war.

Very nice to get to know the history and story of the independence of Bolivia. The guide spoke in good, understandable Spanish, even for non-native speakers. The entrance fee is 20 BOB for locals and 30 BOB for tourists. Great place and worth seeing if you are in Sucre.

I definitely recommend coming for a quick visit. The museum offers guided tours, we were lucky to go through the entire museum with an English-speaking guide. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the creation of Bolivia.

Did have to wait for a while, so buy tickets in advance. You were totally immersed in history as the meeting to found the country was held here. Incredibly important history, highly recommend the visit.

Great place to learn about the history of Bolivia and South America in general. The small entrance fee includes a tour guide and is worth every penny.

This was such an interesting place to visit and learn about the history of Bolivia. We turned up just before 3pm for an English tour. It started a few minutes after 3pm. There were more and more than joined after the tour started - so I'm not sure if there were more English tours later or they just joined in instead of waiting. It's definitely worth being able to understand the tour - it's pretty but the tour added a lot of depth to it. The most important stop to make in Sucre.

Important place to visit in Sucre! Learn about Bolivian history!! We have to wait a day to get a English tour guide! But she was terrible! The information was over the place! She was uninterested to show us about history!! The pronunciation was ok!! But they need to improve everything!! The kids salon was great for the kids!!

Go for the guided tour and you'll learn a lot about the history of Bolivia. Building itself is nice, and some of the exhibits are interesting.

👍👍 A nice place to visit. You can walk freely through most of the castle and it's gardens or use a guide. We had a very good Bolivian English speaking guide with a lot of kowleadge on the history of Bolivia and the castle (and it's family). The guide comes complementary with the tickets (20 Bolivianos...
