The positive: hotel is in a good location (close to the convention center and waterfront); room was clean and bed was comfortable The negative: hotel was shoehorned between two existing buildings and most rooms overlook the adjacent hotel building; my room faced Sixth Ave and the nightclub across the street; I arrived Saturday afternoon, and the nightclub was so noisy after 9 pm I couldn't get to sleep until they closed at 3 am; I had to wake up at 6 am to attend the conference at 7 am; work surfaces were small (desk and bath countertop); drapes didn't block out the bright city lights For the money, I don't think it's worth it to stay here if you need a decent night's sleep. I recommend looking elsewhere.

By far the worst Marriott I have stayed at. It started with the rude front desk lady, then a room where we could not turn down the thermostat. When we called maintenance he told us to give it time and it would cool down. We shut all the curtains and went to our concert. Came back that night and the temperature had not changed. Also could hear the adjacent rooms shower and toilet flush. Rooms are very outdated and not equipped with new technology.

Very very disappointing stay for the high prices that we paid. Immediately upon entry the lobby smelled extremely musty and rancid. Our room was a tiny double bed standard, the carpet in the room was falling apart and so dirty that when we put a towel on it the color came off as black. The bathroom door also did not lock. I would not recommend this location and it made me consider staying in a Marriott in the future. Also travelers- beware valet is $60 per day.

I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in the Gaslamp district of San Diego for a business trip; I was there for two days. When I arrived, they told me it was a day early. Fortunately, they were able to adjust my reservation and not charge me any additional for my room, and I got my free upgrade. The front desk person was super nice and very friendly. This Hotel is a notch or two above what you'd expect from a Courtyard. It's a beautiful converted bank building. My room was very spacious and well-appointed. The only thing missing from this Courtyard is a rooftop deck. The bar is lovely, and the bartenders were fantastic, very knowledgeable, very friendly, and accommodating. I would stay here again.

The room was extremely noisy and with party going on all night on the streets it was impossible to sleep. If that wasn’t awful enough, the air conditioning was super noisy, it was like having an airplane engine in the room so we weren’t able to use it. The staff was meh… we complained about the noise and asked for earplugs but we were ignored. On the bright side the bar on the rooftop is nice but overpriced. I have to add that i am a marriott bonvoy gold elite member so i was extra shocked by the low quality of the hotel and the service. Overall i wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you are here on a work trip and need a goodnight sleep.

Me & my minor child had a 2 bed queen suit And was bitten by little red bugs. I went to the front desk clerk and showed her the pictures that I took of the bug & also showed her my bite marks. No one has called me & I called them they say their investigating this!! This hotel appeared to be clean, just a heads up it has red bugs & they are bed bugs. I’m a member of Marriott for 5 years & I’m discontinuing the membership asap

The hotel rooms are a bit small, around 200 square feet or so, but they are clean and pretty new. The location is good, and the rooftop bar is nice. My main complaint is that the windows have no sound proofing. It's located right beside a nightclub that has a rooftop. You can hear the music blasting late into the night even if you're on a high floor. You can also hear the garbage truck in the morning. Make sure to bring your ear plugs, or ask for a higher floor or a room facing away from the club to help minimize the sound.

Uncommon for a Courtyard, this hotel exudes a boutique vibe with its spacious layout. The rooms and lobby are efficiently designed, showcasing cleanliness and brightness. Its central location in the Gaslamp Quarter makes it ideal for weekend getaways and equally advantageous throughout the week for its proximity to diverse dining options. Despite its closeness to a seemingly popular nightclub, the room remained quiet. The rooms are characterized by cleanliness, sizable bathrooms, and an efficient sleeping area. With excellent walkability and a plethora of food and drink options, including a rooftop bar, this hotel stands out.

Bed was hard as a rock, very difficult to get comfortable enough to sleep. Pillows were flat. Room is very small and the shades didn't cover the entire window, so light streams in all night long. There is only valet parking, which is inconvenient and the car is parking 2.5 blocks away. The worst part is that the general public can go into the hotel lobby and use the elevator to get to the rooftop bar. This absolutely should not be allowed, as these patrons can be (and in my experience-are) rude to guests of the hotel. I am extremely disappointed in this hotel stay. I booked with points and this was one of the highest Marriott point hotels in the area... had I known I would have to experience completely rude people in the elevator who were going to the bar, and that the bed would be so uncomfortable, I would have never spent my points on this place. The rooms are modern, including the bathroom, but there's really no counter space for anything either. The only reason I'm giving a second star is because the hotel staff have been nice on all of our interactions with them.

The rooms in this courtyard hotel are very nice and modern. Probably the nicest courtyard I have stayed at. However, it is next to a nightclub (Friday/sat night might get loud) but they do provide a white noise machine. You might need some earplugs. That being said, they do charge for $6 per bottle of water and the fridges are terrible - only on for 2 hrs at a time. Valet parking only, cars are shuttled to an outdoor parking lot a fair distance away. Might be able to get deals for 50% off valet if you are booking 2 nights or more. Staff is very nicely. Rooftop bar is nice but not very big. Sunset hour (4-6pm) has food and drinks for $9.

Fast and easy check-in and check-out; room is a bit small but clean. Great location a few minutes walking distance to the historic gaslap quarter, convention center and more. I have enjoyed my stay here and loved being able to walk to all the attractions around.

Wendi is why my stay was good. She’s a G! Give that woman a raise right now. Matter fact whatever hotel she’s working I’m there. She cleared all of our issues. We watched her single handedly work a full lobby of non guest filling up the lobby on New Years Eve so respectfully. Followed all protocols and was so respectful. That woman has the key to customer service. She went above and beyond for us. Love her!!! I’ll only come back actually if she’s here. The best!!!!

Housekeeping staff and Wendy at the front was so helpful!! We stayed over Christmas and my son lost his lovey doll he’s had since he was born (he’s now 6!) A couple weeks after our stay I took a long shot and called them. Thank you to the staff for finding and submitting our raggedy old doll. Wendy sent me a picture to confirm and was able to get my sons treasured item back to us. Thank you all again, it means the world to us that you were all so thoughtful.

Received a call @ 8:00pm the night before check-in, desk clerk wanted to upgrade me from my 2 queen room to a king executive room. I specifically asked if the room had a sofa bed, she stated it did and would have the necessary linens and extra towels in the room at check-in. She was also going to give me 3 breakfast vouchers for my assistance. The room I was upgraded to was the smallest king executive I have ever been in, no extra towels, no linens for the sofa bed and no breakfast vouchers. Staff was friendly, that is the only thing that elevated the rating from 1 to 2 stars.

If you would like to sleep at night, I would not suggest staying here. We could hear music blasting from their rooftop bar which kept us up at night. After checking with the front desk, they confirmed there's nothing that could be done and the only option was for us to look for another hotel. My coworker was in a room down the hall and also complained that the music kept her up til midnight on a weeknight and was exhausted at work the next morning. Friday it was blasting music til 1am and we could barely wake up for our flight in the morning. If you're staying here just to party, it's probably fine, but if you want to actually sleep during your stay...look elsewhere. The hotel is walking distance from many restaurants. The rooms are extremely tiny.

Not up to the standard of other Courtyards unfortunately. Staff was friendly and accommodating, but room was REALLY small and I have never seen a smaller hotel gym.

Room overlooked Petco Park. Clean and comfortable. Wish room had a mini fridge. Breakfast was included and was very good. Staff was very friendly. Valet parking easy in and out.

I would like to leave this review for the Manager - Wendy. She was extremely helpful and accommodating! Thanks to her, we would stay there again. And the staff was very friendly and courteous, as well. No issues with this hotel.

Our little family had a great stay. We felt welcomed by all the employees we encountered. The front desk team were great to work with and took good care of selecting a room for us. The hotel was clean and as expected. The location was very close to Petco Park, which is why we stayed there. I will say that the Gaslamp Quarter is not the best location for a long stay with kids, as it is an area with a lot of bars/clubs/restaurants. The hotel worked great for our family's one night trip to the baseball game.

The hotel is nice but very cramped. My room was very small, view was 360 degrees of concrete building walls. There were no common areas to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather other than the rooftop bar. I did try to visit but it was quite loud. There are a lot of displaced people living in this area of San Diego and if you go 1-2 blocks in any direction of the hotel you will notice this. I was staying alone and did not feel very safe parking offsite but valet was $54/day. It was a good location as far as being close to things but I did not feel safe to wander about and couldn’t really hang out at the hotel except in my room.

The bank aesthetic of the hotel was neat, and the location is certainly great. However, the price does not meet the quality or experience. Valet was $54/day, there was generally not any carts available for carrying luggage, water pressure was low on the 8th floor, and the water temperature switched between hot and cold during showering. Beyond that, the hotel only had a reduced rate for the first night, so the second night was almost twice as much. $770 for two nights at this hotel was not worth it, and I wish we would have just gone a bit outside downtown where hotels are 1/2-1/3 the price.

This review was for 05/02/2021 The front desk agent Wendy was a sweetheart. She was very nice and professional, feel being care during my 3 nights stay. Pro -Staff are all nice. -Bar- got the drink coupon from front desk, so we decided to give it a try. T roof top bar is a great, good coattail and nice staff. -Restaurant nearby -Welcome drink. You get a welcome drink of old fashioned upon check in which is really great and special. Con -Starbucks was closed on Tuesday morning. -No parking lot. It’s understandable, but it would be great have partnerships with public parking near by, that way hotel guest can have in and out privilege.

I stayed in this hotel for 7 days and got to know the staff very well. From the moment I arrived in San Diego until I left, everyone took really good care of me. I had never been to San Diego before and Liz was able to guide me to the hotel for check in. Her and Natalie were very kind to me all week long and answered any questions I had as well as gave me great places to go and explore. I also enjoyed talking with Diego and Connor who worked for the valet service. I would definitely recommend this place if you are coming to San Diego.

Staff was great. The room on the other hand was very small. Unless you were laying down in bed, there is no real room to sit and relax in your room. None. Overly priced room for basically a bed. Furthermore, the bed itself was obviously old and was lumpy. I literally woke up every morning with back pain. The sink/faucet splashes water out and onto you, while using it to wash your hands, face, and brush your teeth. It also drained very slow. $54 a day valet parking for vehicles as well
