I stopped by to get some decaf beans, but I must say I am impressed by this place. Situated in a old warehouse, it shares space with some other cool shops. While getting beans I decided to try their decaf mocha with oat milk. Normally I would add sugar when a mocha is not sweet enough, but this one was so good I drank straight. It was pulled perfectly, and mixed well with a good quality chocolate. They don't use paper cups anymore, so either drink there or get their reusable jars. I support this initiative as it is better for the environment.

This is a cute little coffee stand inside a common area for several smaller shops. There are several tables to allow you to enjoy your coffee/food inside. This is a nice combo of indoor with very open space and large entryway with natural light. Lots of fun people watching! The coffee was delicious! As an abode canner I was super excited to also be purchasing a new lug lid and matching jar!! I will happily pay the deposit to keep the jar and lid! The coffee was very smooth and flavorful. I ordered an iced mocha latte. The chocolate was good quality and not overpowering. Service was friendly and helpful! The area was clean, even the multiple tables were kept clean.

I’ve been here a bunch of times and will continue to do so. Parking anywhere in Little Italy is a task by itself so go early soon after they open. Service is good. There’s plenty of seating. Most importantly, the coffee and food are good. I personally like their iced Mexican mocha and iced honey cinnamon latte. On this trip I got the “pull apart bun” and I can’t wait to get it on my next trip! So good.

James Coffee Co. never disappoints whether online or in store. The coffee is amazing hot or cold but I love hot coffee and ordered a Vanilla Latte. So tasty and natural tasting. My fiancé ordered a iced Honey and Cinnamon Latte both very tasty. Beware, the store no longer does cardboard to go cups but is now doing to go jars for 1.25 extra which can be reused at a later date. We thought that was cool and also more sustainable.

James is another popular roaster from San Diego. This spot near Little Italy is in an industrial looking warehouse which perfectly tops off the hipster coffee vibe if you’re looking for that. The coffee stand is near the back of the warehouse and the menu is decent. I ordered the cold brew straight up and it was delicious. Smooth yet bold and not too watery. They had some cool glass jar recycling program for frequent cold brew drinkers but I didn’t ask as I was only passing by. Glad to have found James coffee and been able to try it on my trip.

We went on the Caffeine Crawl this morning and got to try and experienced the Chemex Coffee in James. The tour guide did a full demonstration of how to make Chemex coffee. It was amazing to see how temperature, grind… effects the results of the coffee. We loved the coffee very much. It is super delicious and flavorful!

Cute little bohemian coffee shop operating inside a warehouse space in Little Italy. The service is methodical and meticulous (so not fast) but the results are lovely and delicious.

Inside a domed roof Quonset style building and nestled amongst bespoke shopping stalls lies the James Coffee Co. makers of the raucously delish Golden Hour Blend. Take 5 here now!

I was in SD and finally stopped by this location. The first time I went (Saturday ~9am) it was very busy but I got my order in a timely manner. The second time I went (Sunday ~8am) it was pretty empty. I got a cappuccino and butter croissant and both were good! Definitely check it out.

I don’t know James, but if I did… I would say congrats on making a superb shop of coffee. Excellent espresso with unique seasonal offerings. Very impressed by the strawberry latte. This place does glass only to go. Pretty cool idea but will cost you a 1.50 extra per drink.

This place was amazing. My brother and I both had cappuccinos that were both delicious and beautiful. We also tried out one of the chocolate almond croissants and one of the traditional croissants. They were both warmed up for us and delightful. The space is great with the different storefronts and several different types of seating available. Since we had never been there before we asked some questions about the options and the staff was very polite and knowledgeable. One of my favorite things to do is watch someone who is good at their craft, and I was not disappointed at James Coffee. You can even sit at the bar behind the counter and watch them all in action. The stores where not open the first time we went so we actually came back later in the day to go through the stores. I believe that I spoke with the owner in the James At Home Shop and he was very nice and helpful. You can really tell from the space and the quality of product that they produce that this is not just a job but a passion. I highly suggest stopping in and giving it a try if you are in the area.

Good vibes! The coffee shop is inside a building with some tiny stores. They have a small selection of pastries. I got the Mexican mocha without knowing it’s gonna be spicy, and was surprised by it — I didn’t enjoy it, and I hope they wrote the ingredients on the menu.

Really quality coffee. The taste is on par with alot of the best cafes I've had. Really good selection of pastries as well. And they serve you the coffee in a mug as opposed to the boring paper cups everyone uses.

Walked into here unexpectedly while strolling around Little Italy. This place has got a super chill vibe and great coffee for a good price.

This was the first coffee shop I visited on my trip to San Diego. They set a really high bar. I only drink decaf, which can be hard to find sometimes - and even harder to find good quality decaf. This one was fantastic! I will be buying some online and having it mailed to me. (I had planned to go again and get a bag before leaving, but my trip had other plans.) So thankful I was able to visit at least once and try their decaf coffee. None of the other shops I visited in the area competed with James Coffee on the coffee front. (And you can’t beat the planes flying right overhead!) Highly recommend!

An on-point coffee shop with delicious coffee. Ordered the iced latte, and the blueberry muffin. Both were great. This has been the go to coffee place for all of our days in San Diego . Great service and lovely baristas.

Greatest coffee on the planet! This isn’t just another typical coffee shop. This company is the real deal and the owners, Kennedy brothers (David and Jacob) are amazing people who are passionate about their coffee and it shows! Even if you don’t live in SoCal I highly advise to order online or become a monthly subscriber, you won’t regret it!

I came here to buy coffee beans for my partner as a present from my trip to San Diego. Saw it had good reviews online, went there and got the best consultation on coffee beans! The guy (I do not know his name, unfortunately) did not mind me being a bit indecisive or not know much about beans, but kindly explained everything super well. I felt it was simply great individualized customer service! Really chill dude that knows his stuff! And the coffee ? OMG, SO GOOD! - so sad I am based in the UK and cannot get it on a regular! (got the 'house blend' beans)

Trending co space style layout with the coffee shop in the center rear. Unique modular storefronts line both sides of the space. The atmosphere was lightly above average on account of the custom furniture and tables. The service didn't quite stand out as above average and felt forced, but there was engagement and a helpful response to my request for a suggestion. Unfortunately the drink itself was not a temperature that adult steamed milk beverages are typically served at. I didn't test it with a thermometer but the beverage was at best kid temp warm, maybe around 130?

Craft coffee and espresso beverages, plus an indoor 'open air' arts collective.. AND a barista class space too!! this place is a one stop shop you could stay at all day.. Their roasts are phenomenal, can't wait to try their Huehuetango (guatemalan) Super fancy, but very tolerant eclectic vibes makes for a great co-working space 🤌

This morning, we grabbed breakfast at this coffee establishment. Their cuisine was delicious and nutritious! The cappuccino, the greatest coffee in the shop, was even better! Their employees were really friendly and inviting. For them, we made a lovely carrot and walnut cupcake! Coffee enthusiasts, such as myself, should pay a visit! :)

I'm not quite sure how I feel about paying the extra $1.50 because of the "ecological earth environment no waste cup." And at the same time, the prices with paying for the glass jar are the same at café's with to-go cups. Meh, it's a toss up. Truth be told I will forget that the jar is even in my car or it will get broken in my car and I would have to continue to buy a jar. Such a quandary. What's not a quandary is I enjoyed the entire music track from CSI playing while enjoying coffee. Oh, and the coffee is good as well. Did you know that you can buy a deck of brand cards and play go fish while sipping cafe? Five stars because of "Bonsai." You will only get this inside joke at James Coffee and Bonsai will be apparent. Paid parking and even the meters are only up to 30 minutes. Moe's Coffee is 3 blocks northwest. Just add delicious, no extra pay and suitable free parking.

Located in a refurbished warehouse, you will find this little coffee gem and a few other shops. Honestly, I'm just tired of drinking coffee in a paper or plastic cup. I was served a cup of Americano in a ceramic cup, which was my absolute favorite part ❤. I see that people take their coffee to-go in a reuseable glass jar- what a WONDERFUL IDEA 💡 👏

Very fine coffee and espresso spot with a local artisan market vibe. Great coffee, and they offer reusable/recyclable glass containers (with coozy!) for every drink. Worth the trip.

If you want a cool place to drink your coffee, then check out James Coffee on India, Little Italy. The concept is great with the warehouse and the additional businesses inside. Sit at the entrance and watch the planes fly by right above your head. I love the Vanilla Latte and their Americano. Great coffee and staff are super friendly.

Interesting location, inside a refurbished warehouse shared with some gift shops and a barbershop. Coffee was good, and their single origin Ethiopian was fantastic in a cortado. Tried a black sesame and lemon curd croissant, it was tasty and original. Nice staff

Beautiful coffee shop located at the end of a walkway taking you past a few specialty stores. High quality coffees made by friendly staff. They recently chose to be 100% environment friendly by eliminating paper and plastic cups - only glass now. Get a coffee and browse the nearby stores or even visit the barber shop that sits right next to it!

Best coffee in San Diego even if it’s a bit overpriced I really don’t care. Good things aren’t everywhere.

So glad we stopped here at the end of our San Diego trip. Great coffee and friendly staff. The entire space is pretty cool. Their glass jar exchange program to eliminate the single use cup is a great idea! Super cool of them to do that.

I would 100% recommend this coffee shop. I got an ice chai with an espresso shot. Everything was delicious and I like that they were recycling. Using the jars the participating in the program is an excellent incentive for people to make a change. Definitely, will be back also the stuff was very friendly.

Some say its the vibe, others says it’s quality coffee - I says it’s both👊🏼 this place has a great concept location with the friendliest staff. Coffee is amazing!! They are creating a new normal to have a recycling program which much needed in the coffee world. Great example of how we all take part in change.

The coffee is good. Parking is limited in downtown of course. DO NOT order online especially through their website. They just use DoorDash and you’d probably receive better service using DoorDash itself like getting a refund back. I ordered a coffee and croissant and when I went to pickup, they did not have the croissant so the barista said she would issue me a refund. Hopefully, I get my refund back but was given no record of it either through an online or paper receipt.
