I've
been
a
long-standing
fan
of
the
Pomona
Valley
Mining
Company
-
going
on
40
years,
actually,
given
that
the
first
time
I
remember
going
there
was
around
my
10th
birthday,
when
I
started
requesting
steakhouse-dinners
instead
of
pizza-parties,
and
boy
did
I
make
the
right
decision,
lol...
Christmas
Dinner
has
become
an
increasing
difficulty
to
negotiate
for
my
family,
recently,
but
I
think
we've
found
the
perfect
solution
in
the
P.V.M.C.'s
Holiday
Brunch.
From
the
moment
we
arrived,
the
staff
excelled
at
setting
up
our
table
(which
we
had
to
reduce
from
a
party
of
9
to
6,
due
to
various
health
concerns,
and
were
met
with
zero
question
or
lag)
and
corralling
us
all
to
to
our
dining
location.
Brunch
at
the
Mining
Company
is
as
extravagant
as
you
might
imagine,
with
every
section
of
the
restaurant
turned
into
a
veritable
smorgasbord
of
culinary
wonders,
their
classic
salad
bar
enhanced
with
the
addition
of
fresh,
raw
shrimp
(cocktail
sauce
available
for
those
who
want
it),
a
perpetual
offering
of
snow-crab,
and
perfectly
cooked
mussels
in
an
oil-and-garlic
sauce
that
you'll
want
to
share
amongst
the
rest
of
the
plate.
Throughout
the
rest
of
the
spread,
you
will
find
every
menu-item
that
you
have
ever
hoped
to
try
there,
ranging
from
some
of
the
most
perfect
"plain"
scrambled
eggs
(read:
full
of
rich,
melted
cheddar
cheese
layered
throughout)
you've
ever
had
(alongside
crisp
bacon
and
rich,
snappy
sausage
links)
to
a
full
omelette-bar,
where
you
can
curate
the
perfect
concoction
of
ingredients
to
be
expertly
assembled
and
dropped
onto
your
growing
plate
of
delights.
Prime
rib
is
sliced
according
your
direction
and
added,
with
as
generous
a
helping
of
au
jus
as
you
care
to
pour
on
either
the
plate
directly
(you
should)
or
the
ramekins
they
offer
for
all
your
condiment-related
desires.
Have
I
mentioned
the
ribs?
Both
beef
and
St.
Louis
Pork
are
offered,
and
they
will
absolutely
inevitably
fall
off
the
bone
into
some
other
dish,
only
to
be
discovered
later
as
a
surprise
flashback
from
this
culinary
journey.
One
particular
standout
I
feel
the
need
to
mention
is
the
Menudo:
I
have
never
had
tripe
so
perfectly
cooked,
and
those
who
have
disliked
the
dish
in
the
past
due
to
this
ingredient
would
do
well
to
give
it
another
go
-
it's
just
tender
and
flavorful,
with
barely
any
chew...
The
drinks
are
generous
and
bottomless,
and
they
have
a
couple
of
self-serve
licuado
stations
set
up
(orange-juice
and
fruit
punch;
both
delicious)
for
immediate
refreshment.
The
service
is
impeccable,
and
our
server,
Regina,
was
as
capable
as
they
were
charismatic,
agreeing
to
take
our
party's
picture
(see
below)
whilst
balancing
all
of
the
various
juggling-acts
they
had
going
on
at
the
time...
and
if
you
*do*
happen
to
have
a
span
between
courses,
just
soak
up
that
panoramic
view!
All-in-all,
I
think
our
family
has
just
discovered
a
new
Christmas
tradition,
and
my
only
concern
is
that
I
might
have
to
make
a
reservation
even
earlier
next
year,
if
it
becomes
half
as
popular
as
it
deserves
to
be,
lol...
the
best
news
is
that
they
apparently
(amazingly)
do
this
*every*
weekend,
so
if
you
have
the
*extremely
reasonable*
$45/plate
(children
negotiable;
I
don't
remember
the
details
-
and
they
also
have
bottomless
Mimosas,
so...),
I
am
giving
this
Brunch
an
11/10
-
would
highly
recommend.
Merry
Christmas
to
all,
and
to
P.V.M.C.,
thank
you
for
making
us
all
feel
like
royalty!
