Our family came here at 3pm on a Tuesday. It’s free admission and the staff are very friendly. We spent about an hour admiring the 19-20 century paintings and sculptures. A good relaxing time away from the heat and crowds.

I passionately recommend a visit to this magnificent gallery ... today more than ever, I saw the beautiful temporary exhibition dedicated to Morbelli. We will be back very soon. Thanks .... One of the most interesting and beautiful museums I’ve ever visited! The entry fee is quite cheap (5EUR in general and 3EUR for students). Magnificent artwork. Pieces of famous artists: Picasso, Sezanne, Van Gogh, Sisley, Bodoni, Modigliani, and Matisse. Highly recommended!

(Translated by Google) This gallery is very beautiful both for the quantity and for the beauty of many works present. The halls are very large and bright and create very romantic and spectacular settings. Canova's sculptures stand out, and the collection of works by Medardo Rosso is also very beautiful. There are Picassos, a Manet, a Modigliani drawing, a Matisse and even a Van Gogh that I had never seen. Many works dedicated to Futurism with works by Severini, Boccioni, to pass to Morandi, Segantini, Pellizza da Volpedo, Hayez and many others. Perhaps some description of the initial period halls is missing but overall the visit is pleasant. In this particular period, entry is free but online booking is required.

(Translated by Google) Obligatory stop for all lovers of contemporary art. You can admire masterpieces by some of the greatest exponents of Italian Divisionism such as Segantini, Pellizza da Volpedo and Vittore Grubicy but also sculptures by Canova, small masterpieces by Cézanne and Picasso and much more. Reduced hours and days of entry due to Covid19 and reservation required. (Original) Tappa obbligatoria per tutti gli amanti dell'arte contemporanea. What a gem! Especially the 2nd floor, which is a bit difficult to find. Ask the very friendly staff to show you the stairs to access it. The only thing i would improve is the lightning. It is sometimes really bad and one has to really move around to get a good view of some of the paintings.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful gallery on Sunday morning, just open. Few people and a lot of relaxation. Immediately the faces of Canova almost in the dark with a light on the works. Go up and find other interesting works. Some quandri didn't have perfect light, but that's okay. The rooms of the Villa also host operas by Cezanne, Picasso and then move on to van Gogh and get to futurism. Balla and Boccioni. I will be back. Highly recommended (Original) Bellissima galleria di domenica mattina, appena aperta. Poca gente e molto relax. Balla e Boccioni. Ci tornerò. Consigliatissimo

Lovely museum with a wide collection across major art periods. Nice garden and grounds as well as a solid coffee shop. I especially enjoyed several of the beautiful sculptures, specifically the two by Giovanni Spertini. Curious mural on the outside at the contemporary art pavilion, from a previous exhibit perhaps. Definitely worthy of your time.

If you have spare time then why not. 5 euro is cheap. But it's not worth visiting if you are in Milan for 2-3 days. 90% of exhibition is XIX century Italian paintings. Many rooms but with quite repetitive art, few more interesting but nothing special. Top floor with two smaller galleries present one Van Gogh, 2 or 3 Picasso, one Cezanne etc but rather 2nd grade paintings.

A nice and quiet gallery to visit in a beautiful afternoon. I dont know about the history of the building, but the view to the Garden is awesome. They have a limited art collection comparing to other "pinacoteca" in town, but the quality is great. I love the atmostphere here in GAM, where every room is small enough for me to not feel overwhelmed but big & insightful enough for my curiosity. The slightly minus point is they dont have audio guide, but because of the hospitality of museum staffs, I still rate it 5 stars.

A really nice art museum that looks to bridge the gap between Italian artists and Modern Art. Most of the museum was being changed around as I was there. Some really fantastic pieces including a few by Picasso. Definitely worth the price of admission which was 5 Euros when I went.

Not the kind of mordem I was expecting! But I’m really pleased with the overall visit! Besides the pairing there are some really entertaining sculptures and some product designs in some of the rooms. The gallery is pretty easy to navigate even without a map but I believe they provide you with one anyways when you’re buying your ticket I got there 1 hour after they opened so it was pretty empty and calm.

(Translated by Google) In addition to the wonderful collection that collects works from the thirteenth to the mid-twentieth century, it is worth visiting to be catapulted into a royal, or rather imperial atmosphere. In particular, the Ballroom and Parnassus Hall will leave you speechless. But no more spoilers, go and enjoy! Free admission on the first Sunday of the month and the first and third Tuesday (check the well-updated website with the possibility of booking anyway).

Beautiful museum. Security treating you like crinmals ruins the entire experience. The staff are almost standing on your toes, watching you. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my life. One man took every single step with me, even when just stood still he remained lest than 2 foot directly behind me, just staring. I understand the need to keep the art safe, however I could not move an inch without a staff member following. Left after 10 minutes due to this.

A gallery with two floors dedicated to the development of modern Italian painting and sculpture. Chronologically ordered in a former palazzo, it is an interesting journey. The third floor is an eclectic collection of Italian, Asian, and other art, including some by Picasso, Matisse, and Van Gogh. Spent a pleasant three hours admiring the art and the building. Recommended.

A great collection of statues and works of Antiquity mixed with modern art and a exhibition about feminism and women's right, with a parallel exhibition of prisoners and prisoner's work and phots in the next building, worth a visit (just keep in mind, the parallel exhibition and its photos may be a bit too strong emotionally for you.)

  • 1/5 Flora G. 1 year ago on Google
Rude staff and poor information available online. Museum closes at 17.30, came there 16.32 but was sent away. The ticket shop closes 1 hour before the museum closes and therefor and ALTHOUGH the museum is open, you cannot go inside. Never heard such nonsense before. Unbelievable! Even no tickets to buy online. Welcome to the stoneage.

The art on display did not live up to my expectation of “modern”. I mainly saw paintings of men with moustaches and marble women with babies… Only the top floor was nice with the Picassos.

Terrible and rude personal. No guidance at all about entrance, about ticket price. And finally when you have paid for ticket they will ask you to leave all your staff in some room. This room has no camera, no security, just boxes with locker. No one carries on what is happening there. And they don’t want to be responsible for the safety of the things. I had just a small bag with documents and laptop and was not allowed to enter. I suggested to check my bag if they worry about something, but the personal just don’t to hear you, they gather in the group and just shout on you.

Gorgeous architecture, both outside and inside, create a very particular set for the artworks; at the 1st floor, each room has its own decor and colors.
