My first meal in Milan! What a super place to start. A small experienced team of staff, delivered a well executed lunch, wine was opened & poured, risotto & polenta were served. A nice strong espresso was drunk.

Lovely restaurant in the Milano Centrale area that felt inviting and not touristy at all. Friendly efficient staff and good choices of food at reasonable prices. Lovely decor too, a really good option when in that area.

After reading the amazing reviews I decided to try this place since it was right next-door to my hotel. It was incredible!! Be sure to definitely save room for the cheesecake it’s the best I’ve ever had. Also they had amazing service! I’ll be back for sure.

Looks a bit fancy but it has a fair price. Food was good and service too, but didn’t really excelled from any other restaurants. I wouldn’t refuse to come back but not looking forward to it either.

The most important impression you can give is not the food, but firstly the service and how warm you make people feel. The waiters here are pretty friendly and that coupled with the good food, I do have to give 5 stars. Perhaps because I've been given pretty rude service in Italy before and this place is different.

The restaurant is located just around the corner of Centrale, and quite touristic. We went as a big group 22 people on Monday (when normally many restaurants in milan are closed) and this was fully packed. Although we had reservation at 21:00 we had to wait 15-20 min before to get our table. We had a pre booked menu but were out is options and finally managed to get alternate options. I would say definitely expected better experience but in the end was not bad. They need definitely to prioritise and not overbook and rotate tables unreasonably which was the reason for the mess. I don’t think the locals prefer to eat here I see mostly tourists. The food taste and quality was overall good and acceptable. The service could definitely be much better.

Ate there 2 days in a row. Located close to Stazione Centrale. Great food with traditional Italian dishes. Shame they do not respect the opening times written on the door. Waited for 20 minutes, the second day.

We ate here our first night in Milan. The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. We made reservations and were greeted right away by name. The service and food were great. Everything was freshly made and flavorful. We started with the baby octopus in tomato sauce - they were so tender! Our second dishes were plentiful and homemade. Everyone also enjoyed their desserts. Would definitely recommend it as a place to dine.

There aren’t many strong places to eat around the train station, this is one of them. Veal cutlet was solid, risotto Milanese was spot on. Nicely composed mixed salad and an above average bread spread. Professional, happy staff.

It's a restaurant with very delicious food and desserts. Pasta and appetizers (multiple types of salami and pickled vegetables) were all delicious. The staff are all friendly and professional! The birthday event was also impressive. It was a good meal!

We had grilled swordfish, catalan shrimp and spaghetti casio e pepe with half a bottle of white wine recommended by 1 of the servers for lunch. We had 2 main servers - Tony and 1 which we did not manage to catch his name but both servers were really nice, approachable, friendly and really helpful. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very comfortable as well. The food is really good and fresh seafood served. Really worth our time and bucks here. MUST TRY!! :)

Solo travel experience: The staff mostly ignored me from the get go. I had a reservation through google but they didn't have any tables for me. Asked me very rudely to come back in 10 minutes which I did and still had to wait for a table. I waited about 25 minutes for my appetizer and another 45 minutes for my schnitzel. I was about to just pay and leave when the main dish finally came out. The food was mediocre at best. They give preferential treatment to groups and couples.

Loved it here, all the staff here were very nice and sweet. The food was just as amazing as the staff! The decor is beautiful, welcoming and inviting. There was also someone there that spoke pretty good English so it helped us a lot.

If you want to feel welcome in Italy this is thé place to have a meal. Very friendly staff, beautifull place. Very good Italian kitchen.

Horrible experience. Super slow service. Received my meal 15 minutes after my wife. Vegetables cold. Bread was dry, boring, no dipping oil. Wine menu limited and pasta dishes limited, no picatta, etc. . Food taste was good, but not outstanding. Waiter never checked on us.

Very good food, the staff was amazing, very careful and recommend one of the best red wines to go with our food. Big up for the lasagna, it literally melts in your mouth and gives your taste buds an explosion of flavors. Big up for this restaurant, had a very nice time. Big up.

Best place for having a dinner in warm atmosphere in Milano. Swordfish and homemade Tiramisu is highly recommended. Last but not least an applause for the friendly staff members Gabriele and Tancredi.

It’s never easy finding a good place to eat near a major railway station so we were pleased that this place lived up to the good reviews here. We were staying in the area for a couple of days before heading south on a sleeper train and ended up eating here both nights. Very good food, a lovely rosato wine and friendly service - special thanks to Gabriele. Thanks also for letting us bring all our bags on the second night before we headed for the train.

We had the most beautiful lunch here — Caprese, risotto and focaccia. Service, food, location and restaurant design was all absolutely incredible. Such a wonderful place and right around the corner from the station. Divine!!!

Great place, great service and delicious food. We were in a rush to get our train, they were very nice about it, helped us to have a perfect meal, and packed the tiramisu for take away. Vegetarian options available too.

Highly recommended, the food and the service were excellent. We tried the sea food items and while the tuna fish initially seemed not really ready, it was pretty delicious. So avoid your prejudices and taste the Italian cooking there.

Really good food and at reasonable prices. The interior is light and modern in style. The service is efficient and best of all - really hospitable. We were a large group and service was swift and friendly.

Overall a very decent dinner spot. Service: 5star Menu range: 5star Taste: 4star Ambience: 5star Good for a date or catching up with friends to enjoy some delicious food, not really food for photos, but good for the soul. The eggplant Parm was on point.

A wonderful Milan vacation with a sad ending. On our last evening we ate at the restaurant "Hostaria la baita" which was an absolute disappointment. After a nice welcome and an appealing ambience came the first encounter with a rather reserved waiter. After the obligatory bread was brought and I asked for olive oil, a plate and salt, the antipathy could be read from the waiter's facial expressions. Were probably already a few customer requests too much... After a short wait (perfectly fine) came my order: Lasagna Bolognese. Unfortunately, this was cold in the middle. When I told this to the waiter, he took my dish again - without comment or apology (rather with an even grumpier look than before). Reheating the now more half lasagna took longer than the actual "preparation". When my previously returned portion was served to me again, it was done with a broad grin and the words, "It's certainly hot enough now." Again, no apology, accommodating or alike. From then on, we were rather shunned than anyone interested in our well-being. No asking if everything was okay, we wanted dessert or espresso, or if we had any other requests. We just wanted to pay and leave. Unfortunately, this process also took quite a long time, because the waiter neither knew what we had ordered nor could remember whether I would want to pay with card or cash. All in all, actually the worst restaurant we visited during our time in Milan. Absolutely no recommendation.

We found Hostaria La Baita highly enjoyable, the food was lovely as were all the staff, if we are ever in Milan again we will definitely return. Can recommend it highly enough, perfect final meal to our Italian honeymoon.

Great hotel and location, close to the train station and the main subway lines. The staff is very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Very good breakfast as well.

I would have given this place 5 stars except that i was asked for a tip when i paid for my meal, and i didnt even order wine or coffee. Today is the last day of my 2-week holiday in Italy where i visited Varese, Genova, Bobbio, Cremona, Camogli, Ravenna, Parma and lastly, here in Milan. I had never been asked for a tip and i have visited all kinds of eateries, from simple pizzerias to finer dining establishments. All eateries have only charged me coperto and no tips. Have i been had? It was obvious that i am a tourist in Milan.

Great close out night in Italy! We ate here at the last night of our vacation in Italy. As my wife not feeling well, we had a early dinner around 1900. Luckily, we could grab our seat even without reservation. The service, the food and the atmosphere of restaurant were excellent. We had octopus in tomato source, grilled sea bass, tagliatelle and desert. Everything were great. Thanks to the friendly waiter and the great food giving us a beautiful night.
