Fabulous place to stay when you visit or even live in the #Dominican Republic! Only 15 minutes from downtown Puerta Plata located in the #Munoz jungle area! The hostess Diane is an amazing lady and ensures your stay at SuncampDR is a lifetime experience at its best! The rooms are not a 5 star but are extremely unique and have everything a person would require to make it home if you wish. Mosquito nets are provided although not many bugs at all which is great! SuncampDR is a peaceful place to relax and soak up the sun, dance to merengue, swim in the #Munoz River, participate in activities or go on site seeing tour which can be arranged through Diane. Nothing to worry about if you are a solo traveller as #SuncampDR provides a local car upon arrival at airport and includes a bonus tour of the area. Transportation is fantastic as it runs about every 10 minutes from just outside Suncamp gated area to #Puerta Plata or you can even connect to #Sosua and #Cabarette. I do highly recommend #suncampdr as a wonderful place to stay when on vacation or even live as Diane rents long term. Check it out you will love this place!

Suncamp DR is my Home Sweet Home getaway in the Caribbean. The moment I enter the gate the Beautiful Tropical Flower lined drive melts all my stress and worry away. Diana, the owner/manager of Suncamp, welcomes each guest as if they are family. Her contagious smile and upbeat attitude is impossible not to love. Diana does everything possible to make each guest at Suncamp as comfortable as possible. She will gladly help you schedule the Awesome Horseback Riding Excursions I adore, as well as beach trips, go cart riding, trips to nearby Puerto Plata, volunteering or tours of the Hattian Village in Munos, or anything else a guest may desire. Of course guests are also welcome to simply lounge by the bankor swim in the beautiful river that runs right through Suncamp. She even provides a library free of charge of all her guests. If you are looking for a Real Dominican experience I highly recommend Suncamp. I cannot wait to schedule my next visit and enjoy another Sancocho Feista with all the wonderful people I met while visiting.

SubcampDR is a wonderful place to experience the real Dominican Republic. The staff is wonderful mainly the owner/manager Diane Pellerin. She's committed to making every person feel welcome and a part of the family. The facilities are excellent she has upgraded the rooms and the there is hot water and excellent Wi-Fi and food if you want it. It's a comfortable place to stay for a long time or a couple of days. Plus, if you want, you can volunteer in a local community community and make it real difference.

Lovely accomodation away from tourist areas, and a bit "in nature" but at walking distance of a lively village. Diana was wonderful, giving us a lot of information and help. If u dont like being the tipical tourist coming in a cruise, this is your place.

I live here now. It's so good- you never want to leave. With rooms of all styles(modern or typical domenican), cushioned by lush nature near a beautiful river in which you could swim and only 10 minutes drive from the city, even closer to the nearest public beach, Pueblito. Many options for any mood- introverts and extroverts can enjoy.

(Translated by Google) An amazing experience with nature, Munez river is in the same camp also Playa dorada and Playa puplito beaches are near (8 minutes by public transportation). I will visit again soon! A more than wonderful experience for this camp and it contains a small swimming lake from the Moniz River, and there is a beach nearby, which is Plaga Dorada and Baga Pueblito, which are 8 minutes away by public transportation available next to the camp. Soswa is also 18 km from the camp. (Original) An amazing experience with nature, Munez river is in the same camp also Playa dorada and Playa puplito beaches are near (8 minutes by public transportation). I will visit again soon!

The community was friendly and easy to live with, and management was readily available for any needs. However, our room had a bad smell and was overall not very clean (our pillows smelled like mildew, the sheets didn't seem clean, the shower didn't drain, and there was broken glass/dead bugs in the living area). The good parts were the price (although after staying, I wish the price were lower), the view, and (for us) the convenience of being in Munoz.

Visited twice 2012 & 2013. Had a great time on both occasions. What is locking in basic functionality, is fully rewarded in congenial and genuine atmosphere evolving around the clock at the Papaguy Tavern of Shanty looks. Here you meet everybody who visits the Sun Camp. Parties are happening almost every nite. The owner is outgoing and very accommodative to vacationers.

Large welcoming compound a short way down a dirt road. Has excellent food, a little river to take a dip, many activities organized here. Secure facility and parking. Public transport at the main road. It's very peaceful and quiet. Suitable for large families or solo travelers.
