Charros is such a culinary gem! Ditch your all-inclusive buffets and take a beachside stroll for refreshingly strong drinks and a tasteful fusion of authentic cuisine. We had a party of 8 and were sat at a beautiful table overlooking the moonlit waves through the palms. The service was amazing thanks to Francesca and the other staff. Beyond the the beautiful ambience of the restaurant (there’s also a beautiful pool with cabanas for the day), the true highlight was the delicious cuisine. Everyone ordered a different entree and we were all blown away by the quality and care that was put into the food. My only regret is not taking enough photos of the stunning dishes. Just order everything and you won’t be disappointed — especially the margaritas — make sure to order one.. or 12!

AWESOME Mexican food! I spend a lot of time in Puebla, MX and it's known for food snobs, so I went for Mexican here with an open heart but not sure what to expect, but I was blown away. A couple of local twists, and the gringa was one of the tastiest versions I've had (lighter than the usual and more pineapple). Awesome shrimp tacos, fantastic tostadas. Good job making the tortilla chips fresh. We did tapas so didn't try any mains, but we're really excited to go back and try more dishes. The only note that didn't sing was the coconut shrimp, but it's possible that they just paled in comparison to the rest. Nice view of the beach, or indoor seating that's a little quieter with fans to help with flies; there's also a 100 peso parking lot right next to the restaurant, which was great because we were there Sunday when the beach is busier. If you like Mexican food, or aren't sure if you do, definitely try it here (and most dishes seem to be prepared with minimum spicy heat, with salsas of different levels of hotness so you can customize).

3rd country, 10th city, and perhaps the 50th new restaurant I’ve tried this year. And this really tops it all. The owner was very welcoming from the start as we walked in. We were seated at beautiful table with perfect weather. The atmosphere is amazing; dim lighting, classy music, and great service. The menu was fantastic with options for everyone. I personally had the chimichanga, and it was fantastic. My friends also ordered a surf and turf, a ribeye steak, and tacos among other things. No complains anywhere. I’ll definitely come through again before the end of this trip. As soon as I get the photos off my camera, I will upload them to this review.

The staff are all extremely friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure that every customer has a great dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is also fantastic, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Overall, Charros CaribeMex is a must-visit restaurant for anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

Order a chimichanga with sauce and it was soggy didn’t even seem like they fried the burrito. The black beans tasted terrible way too thick. I decided to order the chicken tacos instead and the meat did not have a good taste nothing similar to Mexican flavors and there was a bone in the tacos. Worst Mexican food I’ve ever tasted. The only thing that was good was the chips with guacamole and the corona was ice and cold. Service was delightful and friendly but won’t eat here again.

Valentine day bliss My husband and I are from Florida. We have traveled extensively all over the world. We keep a running list of our favorite places to eat and meals we loved. Kind of like - if you can have one last meal what would it be…. This past Valentine’s Day my husband surprised me with an “EAT YOUR HEART OUT” themed tour…. We started at our local Orlando steak house… then ….Surprise we are in NY where we enjoyed some of the best Japanese steaks outside of Japan! Next, we boarded the Disney Dream so we could do nothing but eat at REMY’s and Paulos - that’s it… And… just when I think I’m heading home… oh no…. I’m heading to Puerto Plata to eat at **THIS** !! The restaurant that we fell in love while visiting over a Christmas cruise. We literally flew from the USA to Puerto Plata **JUST** to eat at this restaurant!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping my husband make my belly and heart so full!!! This place is magical and so worth it! Thank you so much!!

Food very bland 4 people ate and no one enjoyed their meal. Food lacked flavour. Sauce portions for fajitas were so so small hardly enough for one fajita. Very disappointed in the food

The beer was cold! The staff was nice so we give it 2 stars. The food was mediocre Mexican. We had the appetizer plate, the fajitas, chimichaga, and "charros salad" with chicken. The salad was fresh, but the chimichaga and the fajitas had little flavor. We read previous reviews and expected to be dazzled.... We weren't

First meal in DR, was great! Friendly accommodating staff and great place to enjoy lunch. The food all round the table was great

The food was delicious! We stayed at the hotel The Tropical. We got the shuttle to drop us off at the confresi gate, and we made a right and walked. up the street. It's a 5 mins walk. The restaurant is right across from the beach. The drinks were strong and the food was delicious! My only regret is finding this place at the end our stay. But we'll definitely be back.

This place is life!! Right in front of the beach next to lifestyles resorts. Me and my family where staying at the resort for 10 days we decided to try outside food and this place has flavor plus staff super friendly and affordable not over priced

I had the absolute best dinner of my entire life here. Our glorious waitress, Francesca was unreal amazing! I came here with 7 of my best friends and we couldn’t stop talking about how amazing our existence here was for the remainder of the trip! We are planning to come back to the DR specifically to dine here and with Francesca!!!!!
