(Translated by Google) This park is very beautiful. There are hundreds of pigeons that can be fed just like in the Colon Park of the Colonial City. Right next to the Cathedral and an ice cream parlor worth visiting. (Original) Este parque es muy hermoso. Hay cientos de paloma que se pueden alimentar igual que en el parque Colón de la Ciudad Colonial. Justo al lado que la Cátedral y una heladería que vale la pena visitar.

Visiting the colonial town feels like taking a trip to a quaint town fulled with colorful houses, friendly natives and pleasant walk. Definitely take a pic with the pigeons. This friendly guy will feed them corns and place them on your hands. Its very pleasant to walk around the quaint colorful streets. Great shops to quench your thirst.

My bride and I really enjoyed our tour of Puerto Plata. Some history of the island, a look at the neighboring countryside and a very nice lunch of local cuisine. This was a really fun and informative stop on our cruise.

Great environment to go with the family. I love taking my son there to run around and feed the pigeons. You can enter to the catedral and do sightseeing. Have a lot of amenities around to explore. During the weekend gets busier.

(Translated by Google) I went like 9:30 PM The area was very quiet to hang out There were several Politur agents guarding the area. At first I did not understand why, then I noticed that there are several beggars who tried to approach people for one reason or another and they do everything possible to prevent it. Undoubtedly, you have to find a solution to the issue of the mentally alienated and the beggars that are roaming the area. The park is well lit, I loved seeing the birds that inhabit the trees of the central park. Seeing them fly is quite a show.

Highly recommended stop if you ever visit Pop! The park has changed for the better since I was last here. It is much more organized, clean and tourist-friendly. A government-sourced guide was available and wears a uniform-type polo shirt with his ID; he gladly took our pictures and walked with us to the nearest touristy spot (El Callejón Rosado). There, he showed us to the spot's own historian/guide (who told us all about the Rainieri family's contribution to the local and national tourist landscape) and offered to show us to the next spot, but we opted to stay put, until we left for the umbrella-starred street (both spots shown in pics below). The park also has tons of nearby food spots, gift shops and museums, that all seemed worthy of a stroll. It also had some really great local food vendors, including the can't-be-missed "coquero", or coconut vendor, who was more than happy to find us exactly the right coconut to quench our thirst and our hunger. The cathedral looked gorgeous from the outside. The vaccination spot for Covid-19 vaccines (Pfizer on call today) was open and there was no one in line. There was also a spot for taking your vitals for free; a very community-oriented park.

This park is just a square but we visited right after New Years and it was decorated lovely. It is a short walk from the port. There are a lot of pigeons! There was a gentlemen that would use bird seed 5o attract them and you could have your picture taken with them if you want to be that close to pigeons. St Philip the apostle cathedral is right off the square and has beautiful stained glass.

This is an amazing place at Christmas time. Everyone is out and enjoying themselves. Even the children and it is probably 8 or 9 o'clock. Now, very family oriented, very nice. There is a very hard time parking but other than that it's great

This little square contains statues of Gregorio Luperón and Juan Pablo Duarte. A nearby sign contains a poem about the patriotism of Duarte. In the middle of the park was a two story grandstand not regularly open to the public. Peddlers and self-proclaimed tour guides in this area can be pushy. Do not be afraid to walk away if you do not need their gadgets or brochures.

Parque Central located in Puerto Plata, Dominican Replublic is a beautiful and historical plaza. It was full of tourists and vendors for shopping. There were several shops for souvenirs, a church, several statues that tell you a little history of the city and a vendor with some fresh cut coconuts to drink and eat the coconut. There were several policeman directing traffic and we felt very safe. A good place to visit while in Puerto Plata.

It's a nice spot full of people, locals and tourists alike. A cute little ice cream shop that has decent milkshakes and acute upstairs venue that overlooks the square. During holidays it's very festive and people do photo shoots here. A nice little date night with many hidden gems nearby if you're a Wanderer like me and you happen to be in the area

Beautiful park square that houses the cathedral and drives business and leisure in the downtown of puerto plata. Well worth stopping by and checking the shops and restaurants that line the boulevards surrounding the square.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas, security making sure the place is safe, several portions for coffee, drinks, desserts and food around the park, it’s a family environment, sometimes they hold shows and artist performance. Also many well maintained buildings from vernacular architecture worth viewing and photographing.

Nice central area to access pink street and umbrella street. There is lots of police protection for tourists so you can feel safe! We saw a guy in a donkey riding costume. Kinda looked like 'the most interesting man alive' lmao. He was great and allowed pictures. Didn't ask or push for any tips from anyone, but I'm sure it's appreciated.

Make it a day trip. Choose a day when there is no fog and order a taxi. Wander around. Don't get sucked into the round building. It is a tourist trap. The gardens are wonderdul, bring water and snack and enjoy.

There used to be large red flowering trees which they cut down when they remodeled it's taken quite a while for the new trees to provide shade .. guides with t-shirts .. are helpful if anyone wishes a guided tour.. for anyone wishing an ice cream at half the normal price with fresh fruit just up the road from the church 5 minutes opposite cedcom the computer place is a small ice cream shop with fresh fruit not touristic prices. ;)

If you want to see the Dominican culture come alive then this it the place to witness it. Located in the heart of Puerto Plata, Parque de Central comes alive daily. From families gathering to tourist sightseeing you can feel the vibes of POP. It is not unusual to see kids playing and riding their bikes. Many cultural events and activities are often hosted here. The park sits directly across from the Cultural Arts building where you can find all sorts of activities and events taking place. During the weekend you can find local artist displaying their crafts, tour guides ready to show you the city, couples on dates, restaurants with delicious foods, and people dancing to Dominican music. You will also see the historic St. Phillips Cathedral. One of the largest in the city and open daily for visitors. Shoulders must me covered for entry. Overall Parque de Central is a must. The experience is like non other.
