Beautiful spot in Puerto Plata. Great area to admire the beauty of its historic infrastructure and great vibe. Have patience with finding parking, but once you do the walk, I will keep you amazed.

(Translated by Google) It is a small path that is very nicely decorated with umbrellas on the roof, it also has many posters whether small or large for people to take photos and they also have some places for both foreign and native drinks among other things. This area has lots of fun shops, ice cream cafés etc! Find this guy showing off his skills at opening a coconut 🥥 for you and much more! You can also feed pigeons for very cheap!

Umbrella street is a fun place to take pictures, taste local coffee and chocolate. Puerto Plata also offers Paseo de Dona Blanca St which is bright pink and just a block away.

A vibrant street that instantly caught my eye. It's an absolute gem for capturing the perfect shot, adorned with a delightful display of colorful umbrellas. When the cruise ship docks, this street becomes a hub for American tourists, bringing a lively atmosphere. But during quieter times without the cruise ship, the street becomes a haven for locals, revealing the true essence of the place. People-watching here is a delight, with every moment presenting a unique photo opportunity. I couldn't resist capturing the captivating murals, vintage cars, and of course, those charming umbrellas swaying gracefully with the ocean breeze. As I strolled along this captivating stretch, I couldn't help but notice the charming little shops lining the street. They offer a variety of treats to savor, from refreshing coconut water and delightful ice cream to aromatic coffee and delectable bites of beef and other local delicacies. If you're into fashion and cigars, there's a clothing shop and a cigar store too, catering to different interests. And here's a secret tip: don't miss the "Paseo de Dona Blanca," just a block away, fondly known as the "Everything Red Street." It's another captivating spot for incredible photo ops, and you wouldn't want to miss it!

Over-hyped tourist "street" catering to never-ending cruise shore excursion groups. If you are already in the area, it might be worth a quick picture, but other than that, it's nothing special. Security guards were shooing local kids away and it was sad to see. Not recommended.

Some classic cars and small shops with interesting places to take pictures. You can walk here from the cruise in 15 to 20 so I would save the excursions if you are docked in Taino Bay. Not super interesting but close to the city Square and Cathedral.

Beautiful, a great photo opportunity stop. In the middle of historic area (warning nearby "museum" is a *shop* with a display case). Several lovely little shops (beachwear, bags, souvenirs, coffee, ice cream, quick eats); decent prices. Area still under development with active construction @ far end of street). Security in place; hawkers kept to minimum. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful place to visit. It is super pack so it was a mission to get a solo shot. It ended up raining which made things great because it cleared the path lol. It was a bunch of little stores on the inside and great drinks and food as well.

This is just an ordinary street with several cafes and bars, and different color umbrellas above it, that you can see in almost every city. Imo, it's a 100 met pass through street for a quick photo.

  • 4/5 Keffrey S. 9 months ago on Google
Fun little place to take pictures. There are a few shops to look at and some places to get a light meal that line the street or are in the vicinity. The best time to visit would be in the morning before 9:00am when almost no one is there, although the shops may not be open. There are also security guards there in the morning and late into the night. Its a safe place to go and visit. It would be wise to be precautious if walking elsewhere but area in general is pretty safe.

Umbrella Street is an absolute gem for capturing vacation memories! The vibrant array of colors provides the perfect backdrop for striking and lively pictures. A must-visit destination for photography enthusiasts seeking a burst of creativity.

It was a fun tour, with a good amount of walking, but it was such a cool exposure to more of the Dominican. We bought our tour at the port, instead of on the ship, and saved a ton and still got to see everything. Went with another couple from our ship and together, we all had a fabulous time. Highly recommend for a good, short excursion.

  • 3/5 K F. 8 months ago on Google
A bit overrated. Lots of cigars, amber shops. Some in dollars, some Dominican cureancy We got on a tour as we got off the cruise boat $45 each. I would say missold, you could have walked up more like a sales tour...hot on a tour bus off after a couple of minutes then walk around the rest of the way. Cigar factory factory, chocolate factory, amber Museum and jewellery maker. With cruise ship $85

  • 5/5 Robert “Mellow” C. 7 months ago on Google
I went during the non-peak period. Locals were not sales aggressive. Security was great. There were hand rolled cigars for sale. Chocolate factory. Good trip!

Visited on a tour of Amber Cove. It was neat. The umbrellas were pretty. There was a man there with an umbrella who let us borrow it for a picture. He did not ask for a donation. He created an amazing video for me. I left him a tip.

I was totally determined to go this little callejón in Puerto Plata 🇩🇴🎉 Its near the end of the of El Malecón, by the Puerto Plata (selfie) post. If you're lucky enough and happen to go when there are 'important' high-ranking officers present, like I did, then you will see there impressive colorful vintage cars 🚗 💙 It truly IS a must go to.There are numerous small shops and café through out the area. Also around the corner is another cute place adorned in pink that seems to have eateries and/or vendors towards the back (not too sure) But definitely worth stopping by and feeling magical for a second! 😉🇩🇴☂️

Listen when I tell you... this little street of cute umbrellas that line the outdoor promenade ceiling, houses the BEST EMPANADAS I've ever had... and I live in California... (see pics of vendor and product) a festive street of food, alcohol, and tourist shopping...

Our driver took us here on our private vintage car tour and it is a quaint colorful street. The brightly colored umbrellas make for a lovely photo. We sat at a coffee and chocolate spot and just enjoyed the scenery.

Umbrella streets have become quite a thing, and this one is fine. Obviously it's a tourist trap, but Puerto Plata is not a great place for tourists, so whatever. But this is one of the better looking places in town.

  • 5/5 Scott E. 1 year ago on Google
It looked like three shiploads of people were all here in the umbrella avenue and pink alley at once! But it was fun, and the empanada's served by vendors there were excellent.
