Fantastic take out restaurant. What an honor to have it here in the wee little town of Brisbane. Called in for take out and got a few excellent vegan dishes. The menu on the door is not very helpful unless maybe you know your Filipino dishes. No description of what you are actually getting. We got the vegetable Lumpia which came with a little white cream sauce. Also got the Tocino which looked like red peppers but were not and the the Laing which was a tasty sauce like dish. Had garlic rice but next time will get plain white rice. The dishes are so tasty that you don’t need additional flavor on the rice. Everything was really good. It’s pretty pricey especially compared to the adjacent Brisbane restaurants like Melissa’s Mexican, Mama Mia Pizza, or Nana and Lucky House Chinese Restaurants. But it is quite good.

Super cute restaurant to grab vegan Filipino food from! Chef Reina of Nick's on Grand now has her own spot in Brisbane, CA! My favorite dish is the Tocilog, which is a Filipino breakfast item dish with a sweet vegan BBQ meat, vegan fried egg and garlic rice. Also love the Fried Chick'n sandwich with fries. Yummy!! You can also get care packages to cook the vegan meats at home. It's next to a really nice park and there is plenty of free parking on the street. They accept cash and cards. Vegan food on the peninsula is rare, please support!

We were visiting from Chicago and chose Chef Reina's to stop for one of our meals the first day. We got the Tocilog and Deep fried Crunch Wrap, and were so impressed at how incredibly delicious they were. So good! After 7 days in the area, 14 plus restaurants/cafes, we loved Chef Reina's so much that we came back a 2nd time the day before we left for home. Chef Reina is super friendly and helpful, too. I highly recommend this place. 💕

    * Tocilog - delicious * Ube pancake with fried chicken - great, would have been nice to have some vegan butter, and maybe some maple syrup. Fried chicken was good but too much. The thickness of the chicken was also too thick. * brown sugar donut balls - good Fully vegan place! Plastic utensils only unfortunately

My. Favorite. Restaurant. In. San Francisco. How could that be? But it’s only takeout? But San Francisco has some of the best restaurants in the world? Yes, I know, I know! But this is vegan Filipino food which is so incredibly rare to find. And it tastes just like the non-vegan versions of my childhood. Try the tocilog! It’s so good! Thank you Chef Reina and your super friendly team for making Filipino vegan food a reality in SF! 💕💕💕

I was craving vegan and filipino food. Usually this doesn't mix, but Chef Reina made it happen! The food was amazing! I'd say this is the best vegan filipino food I've had (and I've traveled around! You don't see a lot of vegan filipino food!). We got the Kare Kare and Vegan Tocino. Both were tasty! What surprised us was their vegan egg. This is our first time eating a vegan egg. It looks like an egg, but still has a different texture -- still really good! There's only 1 table outside, but there are a lot of parking spaces around. This resturant is really good for takeout. Staff here are friendly and very accommodating! From what I've seen, they wear masks to keep us safe. I recommend coming here!

We went to Brisbane specifically to try this spot. Super excited but was so disappointed since we made the longish trip. Do not get the vegetable lumpia it’s just frozen vegetables from a bag like school lunch and deep fried in the rolls. We ended up tossing the whole thing. It was $15. Garlic rice had no flavor :/ they need to add either some salt or some more garlic. It expensive too. Recommend the pork belly, the texture was good and chicken katsu was tasty despite being super thin compared to their pictures. Really overpriced for what it was… $80 and we are not full. Disappointed the whole day and even the next day still thinking about that meal how it didn’t live up to expectations and felt like a scam.

This is hands down the BEST vegan food I've had in the Bay Area. The vegan tocino is something special, super flavorful and moist with the perfect texture (which is so difficult to achieve with vegan "meats"). I had the tosilog and the lumpia - the vegan egg blew my mind and the lumpia were super crispy but not too greasy. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and I can't wait to return to try more!

Came here on a Monday holiday and it was quite busy. There were a lot of options on the menu to choose from. Best of all, they were all vegan. I don't eat vegan food a lot, but I can tell you the food here was pretty good! 「 O R D E R E D + V E R D I C T 」 1. Vegetable Lumpia | 4/5 : Was very excited to try their lumpia shanghai but they were all sold out. :( So opted for the veggie lumpia. Came with 6 big rolls. It was quite filling. I remember seeing some edamame beans and carrots inside. 2. Pancit (Canton) | 4/5 : The pancit was al dente and flavorful! Full of veggies like cabbage, carrots, bell paper. Sprinkled with garlic and green onions which enhanced the flavors. Not as dry as it looks. 3. Chick'n Sandwich | 4/5 : This came with fries which were fried perfectly! They were so crispy and nicely salted. The sandwich was quite spot on! The sauce complemented the sandwich really well. The vegan chicken patty was nice and crispy. If you didn't tell me this was vegan, i wouldn't have noticed. The vegan chicken patty was on the thinner side so you don't get the full texture of biting into a chicken sandwich, but I didn't mind. Ordered in person. Waited around 20 mins for the order. I'd recommend maybe placing an order over the phone for a quicker pick up. P.S. Some of the popular items on the menu were all sold out in the beginning of the week.

I can’t believe the taste and texture of the lechon kawali and the beef bulgogi! It’s fantastic! If beef tenderloin was made into bulgogi, this would be the texture and flavor. Chef Reina is an awesome place to get your non-meat meat fix. Nestled in the heart of Brisbane, CA, it’s tucked away in a small secluded area of the bay. Minimal outdoor seating only. Take items to go and enjoy the bay area weather in one of the parks nearby with awesome food from Chef Reina.

We sampled their food at the Hella Plants event in Oakland. OMG it was so good, we were totally shocked that everything is completely vegan. The flavor and texture of everything was so amazing - the only other time I’ve had super good vegan food like this was at the Cornbread Cafe up in Eugene, Oregon. Definitely check it out, even if you’re not vegan!

Really incredible flavors and high quality ingredients! I have never eaten Filipino food other than here, and am always so delighted that the servers happily give advice on which dishes to choose. Really wish that there was indoor seating - only one outdoor table, but there is a park nearby.

Yummy vegan Filipino food. Heard about this place from the Omnifoods website (as one serving food made with their plant based ham and spam). It did but disappoint. Loved the "beef" bulgogi tacos and combo plate of garlic rice and "beef" strips. The svam musubi was ok.

I'm so impressed with this creative restaurant that has made a seemingly impossible meat forward menu completely vegan! Everything tasted great. Looking forward to frequenting this place

Preface- this review might be partial since I’m not vegan. I’m Filipino. I’ve eaten plenty of vegan food before. I didn’t like this establishment’s food in the slightest, albeit I am at least glad I finally tried it. When I called to place a takeout order, I let them know that their online takeout system was out-of-order, and the guy on the phone just said there’s nothing he can do about that. Also, their web-ordering system has items on it that aren’t actually valid in the restaurant, so it should either be updated or taken down completely to avoid the confusion that I had to deal with when I was placing my order. The tocino had some tocino flavor, and generally looked like tocino, but had an unsavory, rubbery texture. The lechon kawali looked like actual lechon kawali, but the “fat” simulated part had this sort of chewy-but-hard texture? I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. The taste of the not “fat” part wasn’t bad. The “chik’n” adobo … I don’t even know what to say. Adobo sauce is very simple and totally seems like it would be easy to make vegan, but the sauce was akin to a thanksgiving gravy. Sinigang soup… I’m glad wasn’t terrible but lacked sourness/tartness. I’m glad that it was vegetable laden and not just soup. $79 for 4 items of subpar taste was an entire waste of money and time spent picking it up. I will not suggest this place, even to my vegan friends.

The tosilog was delicious and the fried egg (vegan) was a total and wonderful surprise not only in flavor. I will definitely go back to repeat this plate and try more on their menu.

Ordered their beef stew equivalent (I don't remember the formal name). Staff was really friendly and warm. I asked to get their most popular dish and this is what they chose. The price felt high initially but the portion size was bigger than I expected and the flavor was definitely chef kiss good. Pro tip make sure to check in on Yelp your first time since they have a promo for 15% off. I'd really like to work my way through the menu and I plan on doing just that!
