Pier 43 Ferry Arch

Tourist attraction Historical landmark

👍👍 It’s not the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, it’s San Francisco’s very own Pier 43 Arch built in 1914, and used to load and unload rail cars on and off ferries. One of my top five favorite arches in the world. Arches have a place in my heart since they have enabled us to build different types of buildings...

This is where rail cars used to be loaded onto boats to cross the bay. Evening has beautiful views of the bay and the far shore...

Aside from being a great place to photograph, the street next to it offers a wide variety of stands, such as fruit and taco ones. Both of these were delicious and a fun experience. I highly recommend them

One of the docks in the port of San Francisco, California. Place where thousands and thousands of immigrants who arrived by boat to America crossed.

I want to know the history of this ferry arch.I've done a lot of research, but it doesn't come up with all that much detail, and it's a mystery why the railroad rails are pulled over there.I wonder if they were moving freight cars from the ship I feel a great romanceIf there are actual photos or movies from that time, or videos using computer graphics, I would love to see them. The waves may have caused the freight cars to slip off the rails, but I think they were made using a really high level of technology. The technology of the old people is very wonderful
