Nice and relaxing place where you have the option of swim in the Carmel marsh' river. Safe for kids as some areas are shallow. Beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife to appreciate.

This is one of my favorite parks. This is a more Northern entry to the park. On the North end is Carmel by the Sea. On the South end is Monastery beach. Along the many trails are views of Monterey Bay. To the South you can see Pt. Lobos. Looking East is the Carmel Mission Basilica founded in 1771. There is a hill with a cross commemorating a supply ship for the mission that was lost at sea. The birds love the Carmel river estuary. So many beautiful walks along the trails. Take the time to visit beautiful in the morning or sunset.

We love this beach! Family and dog friendly... safer to have kids in the lagoon in the back, and they can play with the dog in the meantime. πŸ₯°

Very small parking lot and slightly off-the-path location make for natural crowd-control. Not to say it will be deserted of people, but it's easy to have large "beach acreage" for yourself. The surf break and water currents are warned as being dangerous and, from appearances, the cautions are warranted. Watch out for "sneaker waves" on this beach! All that said, the south end of the beach is where the Carmel River dumps into the ocean making for some impressive (and dangerous!) water currents that are strictly impassable.

Beach was very clean besides the overly large amounts of seaweed but that's also the beauty of the area and the ecosystem. Not overly crowded. Parking was an issue in the actual parking lot but street parking definitely available. Def would recommend.

Perfect for small ones. The inlet/baby beach is one of the clearest & cleanest I have seen.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Nice beach with soft and nearly white sand. You can take the trail along the beach and enjoy the sights of Carmel. In the ocean I was able to see dozens of seals floating about, but none came to shore.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Not only is this a dog friendly beach, but it’s one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to. The bluffs are nice to walk along, it’s easy to access the beach, there’s surfers to watch if you want to sit on the beach and just relax (not my style), the sand is comfortable to walk barefoot on, but the be...

😠 Beach here is amazing and you can walk to the Pajaro River mouth to the ocean. Reason for the 1 star is because your car is not safe here. We went on Christmas eve 2022 and had our car broken into. Not just a broken window but then used a tool to break it which caused damage to window frame and w...
