I stopped in here to get a bite to eat with my buddy after we finished up some business work. Thankfully, it was brunch time! I ordered a beacon burger and man oh man was the meat fresh and tasty. The bread was also unique and the fries were tasty. They also have a wide variety of drinks to choose from (including Mezcal 😁). The environment is also superb. If you're in Jack London, DT area and are in the mood for a tasty meal with great service, you gotta stop by the CHOP BAR! 🙌🏽

Fast service and great staff. Is a popular spot for after work fun. Try the rigatoni and the oxtail poutine. Street parking. Free on Sundays.

Came across this place by accident because I had a flat tire close to here. Went here for breakfast and had the Chilaquiles with Carnitas. I was very impressed with the taste and quality of both. Chilaquiles crunchiness was just right and the salsa verde was in point. I came back here a few more times and will be back often. Highly recommended!

Nice place. Great vibe. A few outdoor tables. Dog friendly. Drinks were fantastic. Food was flavorful, fancy and were good portions.

Enjoyed our dinner, the service was great, food was hot and fresh. What I did not like is they added a fee to my bill without asking. I realize it was a small fee but that does not make it right. Please ask next time.

I come to Oakland, California a few times a year, and I cannot help notice what a great job the local business is doing here. Chop Bar is near Jack London Square in what looks like an industrial part of Oakland, CA much in the way of the artistic Bohemian style of De Pijp, Amsterdam. I ordered the breakfast burrito with carnitas. $21.00 The unique blend of cooking styles in California, particularly Oakland where you get a fusion of Asian cuisine, Mexican cuisine, etc... gives that simple dish (burrito) a certain flare not found in many spots. Chop Bar has a full bar, with specialty cocktails, bloody Marys. Great ambiance with large glass window views from a reformed warehouse/loft environment decorated with local, relevant cultural themes makes this place a winner! Their signature award winning dish is the Oxtail Poutine over fries. Great spot to stop in and chat with friends over a couple of drinks and comfort food. Price range between $10.00 appetizers to $27.00 high end of entre spectrum. Lovely, friendly staff. No stuffiness, very attentive.

Love to come with friends or by myself to enjoy a great breakfast served by friendly and attentive wait staff. I have enjoyed sitting at both inside and outside tables during the week and on weekends for brunch. I've hesitated a bit to post my review and pics because I selfishly would like to keep this place more of a secret rather than letting all those who use Google know but I decided it's better to share...enjoy!

Wings, chips + guac for apps. Ordered the chop burger with cheddar and meatloaf as the main dish. My kids had their chicken + fries and the Mac & cheese. All delicious! Had the bad bunny juice, and it was very refreshing. Will definitely be returning!

Drizzly Saturday afternoon with most restaurants with no outdoor seating, we were SO grateful for Chop Bar to let us with our handsomest doggo to enjoy some snacks and drinks. The "poutine" wasn't really a poutine but still really fresh and yummy along with Beet Salad. Everything came out in a timely manner and would come back to try other goodies

Pretty dismal service; my order went to someone else and I wasn’t even notified until I asked someone where my food was. The burger was okay, there was a little too much sauce, no pick to hold it all together, and had a random slice avocado that didn’t exactly cover the entire burger

Their patio seating is located along a busy street and makes me nervous to think about having a rambunctious toddler running loose. I am a big fan of the P.E.I. Mussels ($19), guac (make sure your kiddos watch out for the spice!), and fries ($8), but wish there were more vegetarian options. Make sure to order a fancy cocktail if you are so inclined.

Typical Friday after work and my husband and I were looking for a place to eat for dinner last night and we found this place ! Nice ambiance! We are both from Oakland. The food was great and delicious! Drinks were awesome and staff! Can't wait to go back and try other one's on their menu!

Mimosas were nice, service was bs. Went got a brunch menu and when we went to order, they took the order and went to the back. That’s when we were told that we can’t receive our order. We were then handed another menu and told from 3:00-5 they stopped serving brunch (it was 3:10 and i don’t mind policy/rules) , they still brought us mimosa’s we asked if they’d still be able to honor our order and we were told no and that we have to order off of the Lunch/ Dinner menu . At this point we have been sitting for well over 30-40 minutes and still haven’t been served or any other thing like that .The times that brunch was stopped being served was never on the menu nor were we informed we walked in to be seated . Not to mention, we were seated by the manager.

service left a lot to be desired. whether fine dining or casual, people go out to eat to be served. i had to physically stand up to ask someone for every thing i needed throughout my meal. server never checked to see if things were okay or what was needed & it was not busy. passion fruit cocktail was great, 10/10 mussels were amazing & great sauce, but the bread that was served was day old & you could tell had been sitting out because i could hardly bite threw it & ordered fresh. 7/10 The pear crisp had a last minute raw flour + water mixture ontop that you could tell should have been the “crisp” but it just tasted like flour. 5/10

I had the cheese steak. It was so delicious 😋 and a mimosa. I was very pleased with the food and service wasn't bad. I wish my drink had come before my food rather then after but it's a cute place. Definite would go back when I visit the area again.

The food was mostly good. I love the online ordering and bill paying. The service was really slow, so be ready for that. It too over 15 minutes just to get our drinks. Our food came out randomly. The time from the first dish to the last (5 people) was about 10 minutes. Maybe slightly longer. I probably won't go back, but it is worth checking out.

Had a really great time at the chop bar! Reference and I came here for my birthday and it was a super fun time! The food was slightly smaller in portion then I would have liked for the price, but everyone was satisfied and everyone's food look delicious. Would definitely come back.
