Great food, great views! Located in a building at Fort Mason the restaurant has a primo location for views of the Golden Gate Bridge and nearby marina. While they do offer outdoor dining, thats located in the front of the restaurant, NOT on the water side. Nice choices on the drink menu including cocktails, beer/ciders, non alcoholic cocktails, tea and coffee. The menu consists of small plate options, soups, 1st courses, second courses, and dessert. We tried the grilled peaches and the Muhammad a from the small plates. Both were unique and good. Unexpected flavors but went together well. For 2nd courses we went with the Chipotle bbq eggplant and the Chile relleno. The eggplant was covered in the chipotle sauce and dominated the flavor profile. The Chile relleno was good and mild, might have benefitted from a touch of heat/spice. For dessert we had the S’mores Tart. What a pleasant surprise. Big enough to share, it was served as a base of graham cracker crumble with a layer of raspberry sauce topped with a rich chocolate ganache bar with toasted marshmallow meringue on top. Not you’re average s’more, in the best way possible!

We requested a seat by the window and we were sat pretty close we so we were able to have an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge. The waiter was extremely nice and was accommodating as we had to leave in a rush. We ordered the fresh spring rolls, green gulch baby lettuces and fresh papardelle pasta. They also gave us a sorbet because it was my mom's birthday. Everything was super delicious and I can't wait to see their next seasonal menu!

Overall some things were excellent and some were good to ok. Would definitely get the mushroom pasta and the melon salad again, but not the rest. We got the seeded rolls to start which were tasty but would have been even better a bit warmer and/or with a more interesting butter- the one provided was super underwhelming. I loved the melon salad with mint and cucumber - was so fresh and crunchy. The shishito peppers were cooked super well imo, but I was definitely not sold on the whole orange dip/breadcrumbs situation - much preferred them plain. The rosé sangria was beautifully light and not too sweet but I was not impressed by the lemon verbena refresher, seemed a bit one-dimensional. As for the mains we got the saffron risotto which was just ok - I didn’t particularly like the risotto or the veggies especially not the sauce that the veggies were cooked in - my favorite part of this dish was a plain cippolini onion which I think says a lot. The mushroom pasta however was absolutely delicious- I was worried with so many different ingredients it would feel a bit confusing but it was rich, decadent and had so many flavors that were actually quite cohesive. I kind of remember having a similar experience last time I was here (a few years ago) where some of the dishes I really liked and others were just ok. I must of course mention the restaurant itself is stunning with views of Golden Gate Bridge so it’s a good place to bring parents or visitors!

The best vegetarian restaurant in SF. Gorgeous views, classy decor, attentive service. Every dish we ordered was delicious: grilled peaches, wild mushroom pasta, and cauliflower tofu curry. Dessert were good, but could’ve been improved. We got the honey & fig tart, and brownie sundae. The tart and the brownie would’ve been way better served warm. The brownie was hard.

Food was good , great service. They have a rule in place we have to carry a digital copy of vaccination card to enter. Service was quick. Spring rolls are veggie rolls they are not like Chinese spring rolls which are deep fried. Main course was tasty . Pizza was very expensive and not worth the price for given quality. Desserts were a disaster. Apple tart was better among all of them. Worth a visit for the views food was okay and bit expensive .

This was my first experience at patronizing a vegan restaurant. My Mother had gone there many years ago and raved about the food. Upon arrival to the Fort Mason Marina area, it was hard to locate the restaurant, which resided down a one way only street. Once we entered, I noticed the fantastic woodwork and table setting area. I used Open Table for my reservation, and we were promptly seated. For dinner, the wine and cocktail offerings were exceptional. We ordered soup, sourdough bread and our entrées. Although the food was esthetically appealing, it was not as flavorful as I had hoped. I would have appreciated at least 1 seafood dish to be offered on the menu for those who are not vegan, like me. Nevertheless, we topped off our experience with two of their desserts, which were excellent!!

Three of us had brunch here. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. The menu is simple exclusively vegetarian and has a broad selection of our food came fast but were were there at opening so your times could be different. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge was great the food was great and thus a lovely meals was had. If you have been skeptical about vegetarian food this should be your gold standard. I really enjoy eating here simply for the pleasure of not missing meat and proving that excellent vegetarian is possible. For San Francisco dinning this is reasonably priced but it’s not a budget restaurant.

Had a brunch date here and the setting is SO gorgeous on a sunny day, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The shakshuka was good, but I found the French toast to be too sweet. Nevertheless, I believe the menu is seasonal, so definitely try the place out. You’ll not regret it.

Excellent food and service. Loved it so much I ate there for brunch and dinner. Very high quality food. For brunch we had an exceptional seat, right by the window where we saw sea lions swimming. For dinner we got the very artistic but less functional table by the tree. Highly recommend, especially if you don't get the tree table, which was a little difficult to eat at.

We were told this is the best vegetarian restaurant in San Francisco, so the expectations were very high. On December 31st we had to wait a bit for our 7-persons table, but once seated, the service was super fast! Got excellent reviews from my family about the tacos, the roasted squash with lentils, and we tried the mushrooms pappardelle, and the pumpkin curry noodles. They were both outstanding! The curry was a little spicy for me, but paired with greens, string beans, and mushrooms on the side, it got tamed, and I could really enjoy it. The pappardelle had a very generous mushroom stew, grana padano flakes, and were delicious! The desert was a very subtle, grapefruit infused cheese cake, with a side of grapefruit pieces, and was perfect! Not too sweet as it's often the case, and also airy, and light. I can highly recommend this restaurant! The servers were very attentive and friendly, and accommodated any special requests. Special mention to the avocado cilantro sauce accompanying the tacos. I tried it, and it was out of this world!

This vegetarian restaurant is situated in an old warehouse at the seaport. I liked this location. As a first course I had a citrus and barley salad. It came among other ingredients with some delicious veggies like fennel and pickeld beet as well as some whipped goat cheese. It was really tasty. Very tasty was also the main course! I ordered wild mushroom papardelle on this. The portion was not large, but intense and rich in mushroom taste! It came with some crispy chili flakes on top, which went well together. They had a wide selection of local and international wines on their list, but I decided to go for a beer instead. The service was done in a friendly manner and the waiters were omnipresent, maybe a bit too omnipresent. In my opinion this veggie restaurant deserves for good reason to be recommended in the Guide Michelin!

Superior pandemic dining. Wonderful service, nautical-midcentury vibes, and inimitable views of the Marina and Golden Gate Bridge. As a vegetarian, I was disappointed in the relative blandness of our courses. It’s vanilla vegetarian. Green beans with oil. A fig salad. Coconut tofu stew. All of it shy on spice, complexity, passion. Although the overall experience was positive, I’d be more inclined to invest the $140 (for 2 people dining without alcohol) on 9 vegetarian plates at Himalayan Pizza and Momos.

What a wonderful experience! Excellent service, incredible food, and a peaceful ambiance. All aspects of this experience were dialed in. Ambiance: The room was not loud even when completely full. It's a calming space to be in. Service: Really good service, not sure what else to say. Food: Everything was at least good, and some of the dishes were outstanding. (The seeded bread and hot peaches on the appetizer menu were outstanding.) Fun cocktails too. The espresso I had after my meal was very good. I'll definitely be coming here again. The restaurant is vegetarian. Many menu options have "vegan possible" or "gluten-free possible" options.

Edit: Went to greens again and really enjoyed all the dishes. The menu keeps changing and we tried the avocado hummus, Mexican corn cakes, pasta and grilled eggplant. Got a table by the window and enjoyed watching the sun set over the Golden Gate Bridge. Got the beets small plate, masala vadai and soup of the day! They were all just okay. The masala vadai lacked salt, the beets small plate was just boiled beets and the split pea soup was very underwhelming. For the main course, we had the cabbage shawarma which tasted really good. Overall, don’t see the hype.

Maybe it was because this restaurant really was out of my price range, but it was just ok. Don't get me wrong, everything was delicious and the evening was wonderful: great views, beauty restaurant, etc. All in all, we ordered 4 drinks, 2 appetizers, and 2 entrees, and our ticket was $155 before-tip. We waited ~45 min between our appetizers and entrees, which seemed a bit much. I'd say were definitely expecting our entrees sooner. The drinks were ok. Delicious!...but nothing special. The almonds at the beginning of the meal were divine. I hate to say it, but I don't know why i would come back to this restaurant. There are SO many choices in the bay area, and this one left my expectations unsatisfied and my wallet empty. Although, our server Chloe was a true gem.

Everything about Greens is amazing! The service was fast and knowledgeable, the food was creative and over the top delicious and the atmosphere was warm and scenic! The backdrop of the sun setting behind the Golden Gate Bridge was a beautiful scene not to be missed!

Sunday Brunch Treat Last came here many years ago so .... Arrived just before the end of the Brunch menu. Got a great seat by the window with views of the fog rolling in over the GG Bridge. Watched Pelicans, Sail boats, Sea Lions and Herons passing by. My wife had the pupusas, I had the Autumn plate and my daughter had the French toast. My meal was delicious. a bed of roasted veg with two perfectly cooked poached eggs and a couple of slices of Focaccia. Chased down with a 'Goat Rock' cider (recommended!). Service & wait times were acceptable. Prices are what you would expect for a world-class vegetarian restaurant in a fabulous location. Not excessive by any means. Left feeling pleasantly full, wife and daughter similarly loved their meals. We won't leave it so long before we come back!

One of the best places for a special dinner. Food is exceptional - every dish we tried was full of flavor and expertly crafted. The Wild Mushroom Papardelle is our favorite item on their menu - we couldn't stop eating it. Toffee Pudding is one of the best desserts you can have - it has salted caramel crystals next to the pudding, along with caramel sauce, hot fudge and rum raisin ice cream. The place has great views and ambience - you might need to wait a few minutes to get a window table but it's worth the wait. Service is slow, but that just gives you more time to enjoy the views.

Wonderful place to enjoy a delicious meal by the water. Interior was very nice, staff were top-notch and good variety of options to choose from. From our first dish to the last, it was a taste bud adventure. It was hard to pinpoint one favorite dish and we look forward to a future visit.

Amazing food! The ingredients are fresh, and the service is very good. The scallion pancakes and the heirloom tomato pizza were my favorites. We noticed a bug had slipped in to one of our cocktails and our server was quick to replace it with a new one. Overall, great experience.

I was looking for a restaurant to have lunch before heading to the Golden Gate Bridge and I found this place on the way. I had the artichoke and potato pizza with vegan cheese: really tasty! The staff is really mindful and really nice. It’s a bit on the expensive side but it was worth it.

Dined with a party of six before nearby Smuin Ballet. We were seated promptly at our reservation time despite being 10 minutes early. Food was excellent! Our server was personable and certain about who ordered what but service was disappointing. We were left for long periods of time after each interaction and had to flag our server down to order entrées, order desserts, and get the bill. Food arrived in good time. Enchiladas had a terrific spicy kick. Spring rolls were great. Zucchini soup was excellent. Breads were excellent!

If you're planning a day trip to San Francisco city and want to end it with an amazing dinner with a view, this is your place to go! Great vegetarian options, cozy but elegant interiors and amazing sunset views every time I have been there! Their food and service is equally good. Try to get a table inside, not outside if you want the amazing view

Definitely 5 stars for the ambiance and the views! Makes a great spot for a night out or date night. The staff was also really helpful. I love how many healthy vegan /vegan possible options they have on the menu. Definitely recommend the spring rolls (a bit on the healthier side but with delicious dressing) and the chocolate cake! I also tried the wild mushroom larb which wasn’t a favorite of mine but I will certainly be back to try out their other entrees and salads.

The perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner with beautiful sunset views of the golden gate bridge. The restaurant is fully vegetarian and most dishes can also be prepared vegan. As a starter we shared the griddle cakes which reminded me of a falafel just with a more complex flavour. As main I opted for the risotto, which was delicious and well cooked. On top of the great tasting food the service is polite and helpful. Reservations are recommended. If you want to get one of the best tables (the ones at the window) your best chance is to reserve at 5pm and be there when the restaurant opens. These tables are first come first serve.

We’ve now been to Greens several times & it never disappoints. It has really hearty, filling vegetarian food that looks & tastes extremely fresh. For both vegetarians and not, this is a fantastic place to go—and the changing menu is a great reason to keep coming back.

Had a brunch reservation with a group of 6 outside in their patio space at 10:30am on a Saturday morning. Wasn't packed or super busy yet. The main parking lot was available next to Greens and had tons of parking spaces with few cars. $3 for 1 hour, $6 for two hours. Recommend if you don't mind walking to get cheaper/free parking just outside of Fort Mason area across the way. Greens staff, atmosphere, and the delicious food were all A+. We all couldn't stop raving about how yummy every dish and drink was! I went with the pupusas and loved it! Other folks got the famous cup of black bean chili which I'll get next time), sourdough pancakes, tamales, salad, yogurt, and biscuits and all turned out beautiful and exceptional. Would love to come back!

Outstanding all-veggie restaurant that is worth a visit for its food alone. We went to Greens Restaurant for a New Year's Eve dinner, for which we had made the reservation well in advance for a 5 course prix-fixe option with wine pairing. And right off the bat, service was friendly and efficient. Maybe a little too efficient for us since we felt a little rushed throughout the entire experience. The live music was also great. However, it may have also contributed to us feeling a little rushed. Though, to be honest, this is to be expected on a day as busy as New Year's Eve. That said, the food was amazing. The Kohlrabi & Apple salad was a great and refreshing start to the 5 course dining experience, with our personal highlights being the Tikel Gomen Hand Pie and the Gateau Concorde. The portion sizes were massive compared to what we had expected, so we left the restaurant well fed. Also, as a German, I was positively surprised by the wine selections for the pairing to the 5 courses. The Hans Wirsching Silvaner was definitely a hit for the Kohlrabi & Apple Salad. Personally, I would recommend going there for lunch or a clear sky day during sunset. The view must be amazing, though as said at the beginning, it's wort a visit for the food alone.

I do not go to American vegetarian restaurants as their food is deracinated and insipid compared to the Indian cuisine that I am used to ; But Greens is an exception and makes flavorful vegetarian food ; it’s sprawling space with calm views of the Bay make it a must visit place on weekdays when it’s less crowded; Our server had warmth and wit. I need to come here to try out many of their dishes.

I really loved the people there, but for the price and the hype, we were sorely disappointed. We had a variety of items and nothing felt memorable. It was good, but not something I'd return to. We tried the soup of the day and it was pretty basic. The pear and greens salad was fine, not sure we agreed with lentils as a choice addition. We got the potato cakes, expecting a bright latke type of taste but instead, it was a dead ringer for a crab cake with a dry radish on top. The tofu croquettes needed to be cut thinner for texture and flavor saturation. Things just needed to be more... Elevated with more clear flavor profiles. We had very engaged manager and servers come through but things didn't come out as promised and it seemed like there wasn't much back of house communication about if we were being served and at what stage, so we had to provide it. For a place with these prices and this reputation, I just expected more.

Beautiful experience! Felt like eating something healthy and came across “Greens”. It is located right by the bay with spectacular views of the water and Golden Gate Bridge! We were able to reserve a table 45 mins later! There’s a paid parking lot right next to the restaurant! Once we were ushered in, we were asked the preference of a window seat or internal table! We opted to wait for the window seat! And it was worth the wait! Beautiful views + lovely breeze! Upon asking for some recommendations (Thank you Cara!!!), we opted for the Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwich and pupusas! I love that they can provide vegan possible and gluten free possible foods! The food was great, although I’d never tasted something like Pupusas! Definitely recommend, especially for the views and service!

Beautiful view from their dining room or from their outside tables. They have a Cafe menu for happy hour (3pm to 5pm) before their dinner service. The $5 slice of pizza is small, but oh so tastey. Get the cheddar biscuit, just do it! The spring rolls were great too! As a vegetarian it was so nice to be able to eat any of the delicious looking items on the menu, and I'll totally go back for a full dinner soon.

Truly, Greens needs to be on your list to visit. Don’t pass on them because they’re vegetarian or vegan as you’ll miss out on a wonderful dining experience! Tucked inside the corner of Fort Mason, I love that the exterior at first blush is very unassuming. Upon walking in, it immediate clicks as if it’s a “hole-in-the-wall” gem you just stumbled upon. From the high ceilings, tasteful wooden decor, and best of all: the view - you simply cannot go wrong here. The windows are floor-to-ceiling, offering you beautiful bright views of the Marina (⛵️) and of course, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge 🌉 in the distance. Beyond the ambiance, the food is superb. Speaking to their brunch menu, it’s best when a group of three can’t decide which items to get because they all look delectable. The ingredients are locally sourced, presentation was spectacular, and the flavor was richly balanced. The chefs here do a wonderful job bringing out the best flavors and we were all certainly impressed. Key meal highlights were the Hash with Poached Eggs, and the soup of the day, a divine beet soup! (Which says a lot as I’m not typically a fan of beets). The pancakes were also perfectly fluffy and the right thickness that made every bite wanting more. Finally, beyond the food quality, the real measure of driving a return visit is a place’s service. We were very warmly attended to throughout the whole dining experience by our lovely waitress. She was both informative and attentive through service! It was a true joy dining here. We dined in early November, and they had both outdoor and limited distanced indoor dining (we sat inside). Look forward to returning in the future.

Seems like there was a mass exodus of staff that really made Greens special. I haven’t been back since, but it’s sad to see special people go and it generally shows something wasn’t working quite right behind the scenes. The food is good, but maybe a bit basic by modern vegan standards. You’re paying for the name and the experience at this point, but the views in the evening make it worthwhile. You won’t necessarily be disappointed, but you might not be as thrilled as you’d expect.
