Beautiful view especially when taking the ferry at night. You are able to see the whole city. The bridge is huge! Never really realized how long it is. The lights are so beautiful. They twinkle. It’s a great sight to see at night.

We drove through the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge, couple of times. The iconic bridge connects San Francisco and Oakland and offers impressive views each time. Every time we drove through the bridge was busy with constant flow of vehicles, even after 10 pm. Additionally, you need to pay a fee to drive through.

Amazing bridge. No pedestrian access but it has beautiful views going over it. Often quite busy but the views make up for it. Whenever I go from the city to Oakland I always take the bay bridge and has gotten me to a lot of track meets and more. Overall it’s an amazing bridge

December 2022: A must visit in the night if you're in the Bay. 86 years ago, the Bay Bridge opened to the public, connecting San Francisco and Oakland. The views here are incredible and the lights twinkle across the bridge in the night. A very underrated bridge, and would highly recommend going here for that scenic look, and some memorable photos.

Amazing bridge. Fantastic look at night with lights blinking on this bridge. One of the cool bridges in San Francisco. This bridge connects San Francisco and Oakland through Yerba Buena Island. 7$ for bay bridge toll.

It is a modern and majestic bridge that connects downtown San Francisco to Oakland. The landscape around the point is another interesting point to be admired.

Did you know that the idea of the Bay Bridge started as early as the days of the Gold Rush, and even Emperor Norton had his own eccentric plans for it? And a rail line once ran on the bottom deck of the bridge? The Western span of the Bay Bridge has always been the "Automotive" Gateway to San Francisco to me even though there's that other San Francisco bridge that confusingly calls itself Golden even though it's red that holds the official title for the Gateway to San Francisco. The Bay Bridge has such a rich history and holds such spectacular views with the Embarcadero, the Ferry Building, and the tall downtown Financial District buildings as a backdrop. Not too shabby! And of course, after Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, the old blue-collar Eastern span of the Bay Bridge has been reborn as a magnificent work of art and a symbol of the Bay Area's achievements in a Self-Anchored Suspension Bridge. You can even walk or ride your bike up that bridge to Yerba Buena Island. Striking picturesque panoramic views from up there!

In 1872, Gold Rush era Emperor Norton commanded a bridge be built from Oakland Point to Goat Island and hence to Telegraph Hill. The structure was completed in 1936. The Emperor would have been proud. The Bay Bridge is considered a workhorse bridge because of the high volume of vehicles going over it. Toll is one way from the Oakland side. The bridge has survived being crashed into by a plane, earthquake damage and damage from an oil tanker hitting it. The bridge takes me home from Oakland, through San Francisco, over the Golden Gate and on into the wine country.

The views here are incredible. The opportunity to see the colors of a beautiful sunset erupting in the sky over the San Francisco skyline while watching the traffic race by on I80 is one that should not be taken for granted. I highly recommend going here for that scenic look, a memorable photo, and maybe even some engagement photos!

We travelled across this underrated bridge back in December of 2018, while travelling from San Francisco to Death Valley. The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is made up of two bridge segments: a skyway structure/single anchored suspension bridge between Oakland and Yerba Buena Island, and a suspension span from the island to San Francisco. Connecting the two is the largest diameter bore tunnel in the world. The design of the new East Span — which opened in September 2013 — features a single-tower, self-anchored suspension bridge for the segment of the bridge that crosses the shipping channel, and a skyway structure over the shallower waters close to the Oakland shore. Its a must visit bridge at night if you want to see the brilliant lighting scheme of the bridge.

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge stands as an engineering marvel, providing breathtaking views of the Bay Area. For first-time drivers, I highly recommend starting from the East, journeying from Oakland to SF. Whether you're crossing it by car, strolling along the pedestrian path, or simply admiring it from a distance, this iconic structure is a must-see. The bridge is also beautifully visible from Treasure Island, offering a unique horizontal perspective. The double-decker design of half the bridge adds to its charm. With its distinctive architecture against the backdrop of San Francisco's skyline, it promises a memorable experience for any visitor. Don't miss the chance to witness this architectural wonder.

When you get into the great Oakland Bay Bridge, you can forget about the commute traffic, it's smooth sailing once you pass the toll gate.

Better known as the Bay Bridge, it is a complex of two bridges and a tunnel on Yerba Buena Island, which connects San Francisco to Oakland, having two floors. Walking or cycling is not permitted. From the Embarcadero region you have a good view of the bridge. In a few hours it is possible to cross this bridge, stroll through Oakland (where Bekerley University is located), cross the bay via the Richmond Bridge, visit Sausalito and return to San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge.

Wow, underrated bridge. Not as pedestrian friendly as Golden Gate but close to SF Giants stadium and the piers and offers nice view of bay and Oakland.

The Oakland Bay Bridge is an engineering marvel that connects the vibrant city of Oakland to San Francisco. The mesmerizing lights of the bridge at night are a sight to behold, and the views of the bay are breathtaking. It's not just a commute; it's an experience. Whether you're crossing it during the day with the sun glistening on the water or at night with the bridge illuminated, it never fails to leave you in awe. A symbol of the Bay Area's innovation and beauty. Don't miss a drive across this iconic structure!

I love this bridge. It is a different experience when you travel each way. I live here but if you are wanting to travel over it, then you will start under the lower deck if going from San Francisco to Oakland and this is the older half of the bridge. My favorite is taking the bridge from Oakland to San Francisco on the upper deck. This starts at the new half of the bridge which you enter through the toll plaza which is about a span of 12-16 lanes wide. It’s a marvel every time, unless you use it to commute, then it may be redundant and something you don’t enjoy.

Just as cool as the Golden Gate without the notoriety. Very long spanning bridge with great views of San Francisco.

While the Oakland Bay Bridge doesn't get anywhere near the attention that the Golden Gate Bridge does, I do think it is nearly as beautiful driving across it. You get views of Alcatraz, as well as amazing views of downtown San Francisco.

Beautiful bridge, it was the first site next to the market in the ferry building and a great introduction to the city. You can enjoy some coffee and croissant while enjoying the view at the ferry building patio area.

Another bridge in the bay area that has allowed me my entire life to drive over water...5 stars. The traffic and toll isn't the bridges fault

This bridge connects San Francisco downtown and Oakland and has number of view points. You can view this bridge from Coit Tower, Alcatraz Island and from all the different piers on the bay. The views at night are splendid, it is lit with variety of colorful lights. A drive through this bridge at night must be an addition to your itinerary if you are visiting San Francisco.

This bridge is the most fun bridge to drive across than any Bridge I've ever been on got like 8 9 Lanes. They've rebuilt it it is just an awesome Bridge it didn't used to be so much fun especially on the way back when you were underneath but that's all gone super modern and super cool and super smooth if you like driving like I do this is a must drive. Try not to drive too fast like I do. They will give you tickets got during the pandemic this was the most fun in the world riding a roller coaster almost and it's just so beautiful don't miss the Golden Gate Bridge is super popular but the Bay Bridge is just as awesome to me because it's the one everybody really goes across here in the bay
