Looks pretty cool. Was more interested in the many different kinds of birds swimming around

Someone does a good upkeep here. Hard to maintain with lots of plants but still beautiful. Looks like a spot to sit and play or have a conversation near the lake. Wouldn’t recommend to be out here when the mosquitoes come out to buzz around. Unless that doesn’t bother you have a great time and be safe out there.

At first glance I was mesmerized by the pavilion, but as I entered and read the plaque in the center on the table, I truly appreciated what it stood for.

Overrated pavilion right on the shore of the Stow Lake at the bottom of the Strawberry Hill. It's nice pavilion of a quick stop if you've been hiking around the lake, but there is not much more to it.

Asian inspired Pavilion on the Strawberry Hill island. There’s not much to do here, but take some photos - I’d recommend dawn or dusk, and the whole lake looks nice and spooky in a dense fog.

A traditional Chinese Gazebo (a gift from the city of Taipei to San Francisco), surrounded by a lake, a waterfall, boats, scenery, benches, and a walking trail -- you can't ask for anything more for a relaxing day in the park.

Beautiful Chinese gazebo in a lovely setting by the lake. A great place to visit the park when it's raining.

Amazing to consider that the majestic beauty stretching to the ocean one way and Stanyan the opposite) only exists at all because a man named William Hammond Hall drove his mules to the edge of Stanyan where the sand dunes began and fed them barley…which took root and allowed him to have the vision of the park that allowed him to become the first Superintendent. If you walk the path down to the closed northern road (John F. Kennedy Drive, weekends only) toward McLaren Lodge on Stanyan you pass the open air skating rink (6th Avenue Skate Park) and the Conservatory of Flowers on one side and a world-class tennis club alongside the backside of Hippie Hill on the other. Three miles of sand dunes to the Pacific Ocean less than 200 years ago…remains amazing to contemplate five decades of my life later…

A great simple hike, Stow Lake offers variety of natural and man made features to experience. Climb the stairs alongside the waterfall and eat a picnic lunch atop Strawberry Hill. If the ascent is too much for you, the pagoda is a shaded, calm, lakeside viewing area to sit and relax. The boathouse cafe has a large offering of food and drink to choose from, and a large indoor eating area. Oh, and paddle boats and row boats are available to rent for the more adventurous type!
