What pretty little sanctuary in the city. Right across from museum of modern art. Perfect for a picnic or just catching up with a friend. Lots of comfortable places to sit and chat along elevated water features and waterfall just above park. Very nice.

The Yerba Buena Gardens Music Festival is NOT to be missed; Loved the very first Latin American jazz outdoor concert today ; double billing , all for free; The main act, the John Santos Sextet band starts with an invocation to the Gods who stop the drizzle. The fusion music is complex, curiously infectious ; it’s a mix of jazz, calypso, salsa and some reggae ; The thumping electric bass never lets you forget it’s harmonious presence; the three drum conga defines the very sound of the band; cowbells are ubiquitous and so are shakers; Thee trumpet soloist is gifted; no wonder , Carlos Santana stole him away from this band ; loved the solo on timbales which are shallow steel drums on stand; the two hours go by quickly.

Seemingly in the middle of everything in the Financial District. This place is very photogenic. Different Museums across from here in every direction. Also, nice place to bring a lunch and sit out people watching. Nice watch fixture in the middle and a Target right there also.

This is a very pretty and peaceful garden in the heart of the city. Great place for a contemplative stroll and just generally relaxing. I strolled through here in the early evening and it was worth the visit. The Martin Luther King monument was very cool to visit as well.

One of my Favorite Green spots in SFO. It's a beautiful park located next to SF MOMA Surrounded by high-Rise builings. It's this Blend between Green and Concrete that gives this place it's uniqueness.

Such a wonderful park in the middle of the city. It's above the street, so you can't see any cars and they're not quite as loud sure to the acoustics. Near several cool spots like the Art Museum.

Basically what this place is is the roof for the Moscone convention center. It just happens to be covered in the most beautiful gardens and parks in The City! There is only one place in San Francisco. That is a better park. This is the Victoria Manilow Draves park on Folsom Street between sixth and seventh. Visit both if you have the time !

visited this garden multiple times during my two week stay in san francisco. close to everything, plenty of seating, multiple different settings. you can sit on a bench in near the grass or climb some stairs to sit atop the water fountain, or by the flowers. great place to work remote or read a nice book.

Beautiful park in the middle of downtown San Francisco! Well manicured lawn. It was clean and neat. Beautiful Saint Patrick's Catholic Church across the park. The water fountain was not on today, but there is water in the pond.

The Yerba Buena Gardens are a beautiful urban park near Union Square and downtown San Francisco. It’s next to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and there are plenty of food options nearby to have a meal al fresco. The park sometimes has music and dancing events that are worth looking into.

San Francisco is home to some of the most beautiful parks I've seen so far. Yerba Buena Gardens is one of them! It has beautifully maintained grounds despite it being in the busy area around South of Market and Mission (SoMa), with so much daily foot traffic. Grab a bite to eat inside the Metreon or at Target right next door and take it outside. There are ample grassy areas to chill, many amazing plants and trees (seasonal blooms such as cherry blossom, bougainvilleas, and magnolia trees to name a few) to admire, a Martin Luther King Memorial with inspired messages and a powerful waterfall you could walk under or zone out watching, stairs to an upper area with even more benches, an infinity pool style fountain and gorgeous plants and cityscape views of surrounding buildings including the St. Patrick's church across the street, museums such as SFMOMA, and gorgeous architectural buildings. If there's time, you could easily spend many hours exploring surrounding areas, as it is part of a larger development that stretches across the street to the carousel and discovery areas that's great, for families, friends, a date idea, and so on. There are occasional homeless people as it is right in a busy area, but nothing to be surprised about living, visiting or exploring a city. May they get the support they need to be housed and get out of their situations. I feel both the sadness and awe of the stark differences of these experiences and pause to reflect. As busy as it gets, the gardens provide this space. Let's respect it and keep it clean, follow the simple rules and enjoy the park.

An oasis in the city. The green space is very popular with the locals as well as tourist. There is small concert here. We also like the Martin Luther King Memorial with profoundly powerful words.

An oasis in the middle if downtown San Francisco! With vast green space amidst the high rises of the city and a stunning artificial waterfall, this is a must see tourist attraction and all locals should enjoy this space often. Across from the secured 5th and Mission Parking Garage and within steps of over a dozen restaurants, this is a wonderful place to be on a warm sunny day to get away - if only momentarily - from the hustle and bustle of city life.

An easy reach from convention center, it is right behind Moscone North. Nice running water features, St. Patrick church stood between moder high rises frame the green and flowering (dependent on season), and blue sky. Nice refresh from busy schedule if you like to take a break from the hush hush.

This place is so beautiful.. I went to the first Soul Music Festival given by BLK. It was hot as hell but it was fun.. The area was big enough, green grass, a stage which you can see and hear from wherever you are seating and standing. The bathroom was close and clean along with Target, Starbucks, movies etc. The parking is either on the street or in a parking garage. I would go to another event here but, I would prefer Sundays only..

Got curious seeing this on the map and went to check it out. Was not disappointed. Open view spacious little park with benches everywhere and several interesting features, including it's main feature, an artificial waterfall in the middle with historical information. You will get wet on a windy day. Overall a nice little side quest I enjoyed start to end. Recommended for everyone, young and old, parents and teens.

Very big and convenient shopping mall. Target is huge there. The place is amazing. Especially under those 5 huge trees. Such a charming spot. Grab a coffee and sit next to the waterfall. Close your eyes and enjoy the life

With San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on one side, Metreon and AMC on the other, Moscone Center on the back and facing St. Patrick Church and the Jewish Museum, Yerba Buena Gardens is an urban oasis hidden in a forest of steel and concrete in San Francisco Downtown. It's a small park, so you probably don't want to bring 20 friends and throw a party here, but do come take a break from your walk, work, or whatever you were doing, enjoy the fresh air, green grass and your coffee, lunch or afternoon snacks. Relax, recharge, then resume.

The only public park bordering Mission Street, an oasis in the densely urban landscape. Bring a lunch or snack and enjoy the view of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial fountain or listen to one of the frequent free performances. Sit on the grass and soak up so sun 🌞.

Beautiful and stunning heart of the city park and waterfall. The new JoyRide Pizza restaurant located to the right, above the waterfall is absolutely delicious! Best Detroit style pizza I've had, hand made from scratch WORTH a try!

This was such a find! A large, lovely park behind the Metreon Center with a beautifully landscape, hilly area below with trees, benches and a pavilion. Then there's a walkway past the HUGE waterfall that leads thru flower gardens, an infinity style pool where storks and gulls splash and ends at a lookout with stellar views of the city.

Liked the atmosphere! It was educational & relaxing. Various activities scheduled this month. Near a museum, AMC, eating places, & Target.

  • 5/5 Nicole S. 1 year ago on Google
I love this place. It's very family friendly. You can stay near the trees and get some shade. It's right next to a Target, so it's easy to grab snacks or lunch and then head to the park. I also recommend Bimi Poke for lunch.

Cool and calming atmosphere for a light picnic, perfect for a quick boba tea catch-up with a friend, or even to walk through some greenery to escape the SF busy-ness. Of course, the waterfall is where you'll witness Instagram cartwheels, yoga poses, etc., but that's expected! Lots of dogs being walked by their owners.
