Chinatown SF is a must visit stop if you’re traveling through the city - you can’t miss it! China town spans across several blocks and it is defined by its unique Asian culture and cuisine. You can delicious, tasty, affordable, and authentic dishes in some of the original, long standing restaurants. There are plenty of grocery stores, gift shops, souvenir stores, jewelry shops, and tea/dessert places to try. Would caution against walking around at nice since most stores are locked up securely and it is not as brightly lit as some other streets. There is also a square with a kids park and a pagoda-like structure for nice seating outdoors. Lots of walking and hills in this area.

Great Place to explore Very San Francisco, The Buildings 😁 Stockton Street Is Fun To See. Try the Far East Cafe or Sam Wo. Still not too busy lots of pictures to take lots of really neat buildings. Short walk from Union square right next to North Beach.

Biggest Chinatown outside of Asia! Chinatown San Francisco boasts richness of culture and fascinating areas throughout. It is filled with multiple restaurants, stores, places of business, etc. The decorations are something to not miss and definitely adds beauty to the area itself! Somewhat bummed that four of the dumpling places I’ve searched for were all closed when I went but nonetheless still a great to checkout while in San Francisco!

Vast area consisting of several blocks representing Chinese culture. On the plus (+) side: - Lots of good restaurants of different cuisine, but most are Chinese. I saw some Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants. - Many gift shops, herb stores and practically whatever you can think of from China. - Pleasant walk. Some roads are closed for walking purpose. On the minus (-) side: - Cigarettes smells everywhere, even in public sidewalks. I have a kid so this is a bother to me. Usually, you’re not allowed to smoke in public. - Urine smells in some area, mostly vacant store walls or parking lots. The lift’s area of the public parking lot I visited today was full of this smell, so it attracts tons of flies. Waiting for the lifts was terrible.

Walking into Chinatown transports you into another country. Sidewalk signs and storefront names written in Chinese, along with Asian murals and Chinese lanterns strewn above. There's tons of shopping, items tightly packed into stores much cheaper than the tourist traps at the wharf. A wonderful time to window shop and find unique items. Everyone i encountered was so pleasant. As with most of San Fran, bring your walking shoes as parts are definitely on inclines.

Best Chinatown inspired experience in the US! Amazing and possibly the very best Chinese restaurants outside of China, this I'm told be my Chinese friends and personal experience. Wandering the streets going in and out of the shops is fun and for a minute, you might think you left the country. A very immersive experience for the tourist. The oldest china town in California where you can experience strongly Chinese and Taiwanese culture. Asian foods here are nice! Most of the shops only accept cash, but don’t worry, you can withdraw your money from chase or BoA nearby.

Chinatown is San Fran is a must. It is so beautiful decorated with symbols and accents from Chinese culture and so many different market and food options. The entrance is majestic and there are murals scattered throughout the town that are vibrant. All the details are what makes this Chinatown so well known throughout the US. There is shops right at the entrance that are not Asian-owned so I would steer clear. Try to support Asian businesses if you are in town.

Very cool place to walk around and see a way of life less familiar than the typical day-to-day we are most used to. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to visit while wandering around. We were fortunate enough to visit on Chinese New Year and got to see a few street performances as well as here a few firecrackers. I have visited before but each trip is a unique experience. A great way to spend a few hours or a whole day.

Chinatown is one of my favorite places to visit in San Francisco. In fact I have been to various Chinatowns around the country and the world such as New York and Bangkok. I love the energy and vitality around this place . It's filled with tourist shops and great restaurants Tea shops that sell various kinds of tea go inside and they give free classes on the various teas. Herbal shops selling exotic herbs used for Chinese medicine . Asian grocery stores that sell exotic fruits and vegetables you will never see in Western Markets . Don't forget to go to the dim sum shops and try the various Dim Sum delicacies. Chinatown has a lot to offer there's also Temples in Chinatown that most tourists never Venture to see . If this is your first trip to Chinatown I would advise you not to stick the main tourist drag Grant St but venture a block up from there to Stockton st. There you will find many Asian supermarkets herbal shops and many Restaurants. This is the local Chinese community shops and eat .

This is the Chinatown of my ancestors who have lived in the US for 6 generations now. Its dense and crammed architecture and population gives a lively atmosphere. You feel like every nook and granny of this relatively small section of San Francisco holds centuries of history

San Francisco Chinatown, I think is the Chinatown in North America that has a more Chinese atmosphere. The location of San Francisco's Chinatown is very good. It is not only accessible in all directions, but also surrounded by many attractions. I personally think it is one of the attractions worth checking out when traveling to San Francisco. Maybe it’s because I personally have a special affection for Chinatown, so I want to visit Chinatowns in many foreign cities. Because Chinatown is a gathering place for overseas Chinese, you can see the history of overseas Chinese development here. 🗺Location: Chinatown San Francisco, San Francisco🗺 💰Tickets: Free. 💰 ⏰Opening hours: Most shops and restaurants are open during the day, and there are some activities at night, but I personally recommend that it is best to go during the day. ⏰ 📍Address: Google map navigation San Francisco Chinatown📍 🚗Transportation: Search the subway on Google map and take the [Montogomery Station or Powell street] and then walk for a few minutes. Personally, I think the transportation in San Francisco is quite convenient. 🚗 ———————————————————————— ‼ ️As mentioned above, the historical traces of Chinatown in San Francisco. The products sold in the small shops in Chinatown in San Francisco, you can be surprised to find those small products that you can see when you were a child, which are the kind that you may not see in domestic supermarkets. At a glance It really feels like returning to childhood. ‼ ️ PS: Chinatown is a cultural destination in San Francisco with a rich history. After exploring Chinatown, you can also visit nearby Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf.

Chinatown, located in the hart of San Fco, easy to cross into it. Nice place to walk around, take some dessert, ice cream, Chinese junk food. There is a place for drink in the main street, named Budha Lounge or something like that, the lady who is taking care of business is a really kind of person, her name is Any, she made our stay just quite pleasant.

Positively amazing! I absolutely love wandering around and visiting the wide array of shops. The shopkeepers have always been so nice and curteous, and I have learned a great deal from various history tidbits to small bits of language. The food I have found is spectacular, by far the best ever I've had. Pork buns are a must have, followed up by fresh fruits and a stop at the gem shop to see shinies and then kites to fly at the park. Very photogenic, and overall loads of intriguing places to investigate. Plan a day!

Very interesting place to visit :) you can find a lot of places to buy a souvenir, eat Chinese food or markets where you can find groceries in an affordable price. It was amazing, it felt like I was in china. However, the atmosphere was a little dull, they told me that before the pandemic there were more people and a much more lively atmosphere where they played music and you could find street food. i loved this place :)! (I visited in January)

Chinatown in San Francisco is a place you need to stop for souvenirs and cool stuff. Many nice and delicious restaurants of you are looking for an original oriental taste. Also a lot of stuff you won’t find in regular stores, like spices, decor, jewelry, etc. Great place for pictures and kids.

A great historic district to walk around and taste different types of Chinese food and drinks. The colourful buildings are old but well maintained, quite enlightening to see. Don’t miss the narrow alleys hidden away from the streets. A unique way to experience the Chinese culture.

China town has remained a little gem on the list of places to see while in the City by the Bay! Boutique style shops with glitter and charm gifts, vibrant golden colors that are inviting, and wonderful smells of Chinese cuisine. The weather gets cooler at night so be sure to bring a jacket and hat! Be sure to arrive early for the New Year's Parade and secure a parking spot! Enjoy your trip! 😊🐲🐲💖

China town was a nice experience, there's a lot of beautiful Wall art/painted walls. As you walk along there's several restaurants to choose from. There's quite a bit of souvenir shops and stores as well.

We had a great time walking around Chinatown looking at all the shops, had lunch at a place called The Spicey Shrimp. Ended our day walking around town.

Nice tourist place. Lots or people walking, not much parking. We drive around about 40mins when was exhausting especially when you’re hungry and driving past several restaurants. I would recommend getting there earlier during the day or uber. Otherwise pack your patience

You can really feel the Chinese atmosphere, but I felt like there wasn't much to do. There's a lot of restaurants, but many of them were closed. The ones that were open had not so nice staff. There's lots of hair salons.

Amazing! A traditional and classic Chinatown that is fun to explore and doesn't feel too touristy, with actual Chinese folk living their lives in it. Plenty of murals, cool sights, and stores/restaurants. An amazing place for Chinese-Americans to feel at home even when they are on the other side of the country, speaking as a New Yorker.

This is probably the best town, although it is 5 starred, a problem is that it’s pretty boring when I go in here for a long time, besides that, nothing bland, just great, the best part is it has my store in it and it has my grandpa’s restaurant, and it’s on display, however, my store is not in display

Great experience to be in Chinatown. Chinese shops and people with their original cultures. Besides many restaurants and different Chinese and Asian foods, I found many fruit shops that selling rare fruit. For example, fresh Durian (a tropical fruit) was one of them. Also, fish shops are great because you can buy alive fish. All in all I recommend to visit this place and experience Asian culture, food and other stuff.

Definitely a must see... Have it on a bucket list.. But bring a bucket too, since there are no public restrooms 😂. Love the sights and some smells.

A fantastic way to spend a few hours, grab an affordable meal and some Chinese baking for later. Having been to NYC’s Chinatown and living near Vancouver, SF’s Chinatown is huge, and pretty clean in comparison. Don’t miss Ross Alley where the cute decor hangs above the streets. Easy transportation to Chinatown via the Metro at only $2.50 per ride.

While I was visiting the city, I walked through the Chinatown. It gave me a very authentic feel (close enough). I happened to see the dragons dance put up and some fireworks show. Great experience!

It was nice to walk around the China Town. I didn't know it's the biggest Chinatown in US, it doesn't look like that if you only walk there for a few hours, but it looks authentic and interesting. Most of the stores are for food. We only tried some dumplings and some fried stuff that was good. It was also quite empty and not crowded at all.
