For where the hotel is situated there is not much bad to say. Your right off a cable car stop, a whole foods, and a Starbucks. So if your a business traveler it has the necessity in a quick walk. Best thing is the beds are firm and provide a solid night sleep. Staff was nice and I had no issues. Rooms were clean. A great stay.

We stayed four nights and had a great holiday. Our reservation at another hotel did not exist and the staff here was friendly and gave us room in the middle of the night. We had our room at level 24 and the view was excellent. The AC were very noisy. They had nice gym, warm pool outside and the price includes car parking. Breakfast is not included and I can not recommend it but there are a lot of restaurant round the corner. The location of the hotel is great. I would love to return here again.

San Francisco is a strange placeโ€ฆ if youโ€™re driving in from SFO youโ€™ll almost certainly see people actively doing drugs on the sidewalk but a block or two from the hotel youโ€™ll think youโ€™re back in the US. The area around the hotel is great, as safe as any major city, and the further north you go, the nicer it gets. The hotel itself is well kept and the staff are some of the nicest that Iโ€™ve come across. The bartenders are great and the bar itself is solid for a hotel bar. The food is reasonably priced for a hotel, nothing really special on the menu, but they certainly season it, which is rare for a hotel. There are a few restaurants nearby (I recommend the Village cafe) but most are a bit of a walk north. I would certainly consider it again

My husband and I came here for a staycation (we live in the Bay Area) for a concert in the city. We stayed for one night. We stayed here from Oct. 21-22, 2023. Our car was broken into in the garage on the upper 3rd level. We woke up to missing items in our car and it is clear that it was an experienced robber who did this--not an amateur. We understand that the hotel is not liable but they should do a better job protecting their patrons if they are going to charge $45 daily for parking in a gated garage. They have a security guard in the lobby which is obviously a joke because whoever did this got past the security "guard." They also have no surveillance cameras and say that parking is at your own risk-which we understand. We enjoyed everything about the hotel and even felt safe walking at night to the Fillmore for our concert. But to only apologize and not offer to reimburse or do anything about the car break-in is outrageous. To access the floors that have hotel rooms via elevator, a hotel key scan is required. However, to access the parking garage levels, a hotel key is NOT required. We believe this is how the robbery happened: the person got past the security "guard" and did not need a hotel key to get to the elevators. I don't care if break-ins are "normal" for San Francisco, a hotel should be doing something to AVOID this from happening and protecting their guests. We will not be back--IHG lost a customer.

9/16 - 9/19/2022. My wife and I stayed at this hotel during our trip to San Fran. I wanted a hotel with parking for conveniency as we were going to drive around town to different places. Location is on a busy main street. Homeless people in the area, we are not use to this and it could come off as a bit unsafe, but it was okay during the day. Being in San Fran, hotels are a bit more expensive, parking cost 45 plus tax per day, other misc. taxes, etc. We got the city view room which was nice. Great customer service. We lost our garage door card one of the day and got a replacement card for free when we it was supposed to be 45 dollars charge, so do not lose your garage card. We later found the card in our room on the floor. The only complaint would be there is no complimentary breakfast. For the price we pay for the room and park, there should be some kind of complimentary breakfast. There is a coffee shop in the main floor. Bed was comfortable, pillows were long size which is nice and comfy, room is okay. Overall, good place to stay, it is a bit expensive, and no breakfast. Going to try other hotels whenever we back in San Fran.

Spent the night after an SF event. Great room with lots of pillows, sitting chair as well as desk and big TV. Clean and efficient - hit water with good water pressure. Heated pool was nice for a swim before leaving. Staff was very nice, keyed access to the floors. Parking was pricey but felt safe - both the car and me! Neighborhood had several places to eat within easy walking even in nice shoes! Plenty of activity at 9pm so felt comfortable. Will stay again

This hotel is a good option for times when the downtown hotels are sold out or very expensive due to conventions. If you use public transportation and need to go downtown, there are some options, but if you have luggage, public transportation is not a good option here. The rooms are clean and have a nice view, but some have very small refrigerators but no microwave. I travel so much that small details make a difference for me. For example, I like full size hangers that you can remove from the rod because I use a garment steamer to steam suits and shirts. The ones here are not regular size. Also, they used to offer an option to book a room with a breakfast package; this option is no longer offered. There's a restaurant on site, but unrelated to the hotel. There are no fast food options or convenience stores nearby. There's a gas station and a pharmacy nearby and that's it. I only book this hotel as a last resort to a lack of availability for downtown hotels.

Amazing hotel. We were looking for somewhere in San Fran to stay that felt safe, had great amenities and access to local attractions and this is the spot. Our view was incredible from room 2501, the views were amazing and could catch a glimpse of Golden Gate and Alcatrazโ€ฆ but we were lucky with weather. Parking was safe and convenient in a multi story. The rooftop pool was clean and well kept and a great hotel asset. Staff were VERY helpful and friendly, offering help with local attractions and directions, shout-out to Charles. We will be back on our next trip to San Francisco ๐ŸŽ‰

The NOISIEST hotel Iโ€™ve ever stayed at. You can hear traffic loud and clear from the 14th floor, even with the window & blind/shade & curtain fully closed off. I could hear next door and upstairs like they are in my room. Lots of door banging & unlocking noises that sounded like someone was trying to break in. The bed was not comfortable. Super loud and old AC unit. Bathroom not clean. Impossible to reach the front desk from your phone, unless you call from the phone in the room. So good luck making any changes prior to your trip. The only pro is the house keeping lady was super nice and friendly.

It's just feet from the California Street Cable Car. There is a ticket dispensing machine at the Cable Car stand. $5 for on and off all day tickets. You can ride the California Street Cable Car to China Town or connect to other Cable cars and metro lines. The hotel is not cheap but less than many others. However, they get you on parking at $40 per day. Ouch! This hotel is very close to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods and a Farmers Market. I mean about a block to a block and a half. There is a fridge in the room but no microwave. There is a Kerrigan coffee machine in the room and the front desk gladly hands out more pods for the asking. They have coffee and a variety of teas. The hotel is near the Golden Gate Bridge but not walking distance. In fact walking anywhere can be a challenge due to the steep hills. Take the trolley.

The rooms were large and comfortable. The bathrooms were standard. We did have an issue with the tub and sink backing up, however we notified the front desk and maintenance came and repaired them both immediately. They have a restaurant that had a pretty decent selection and the food was good. The prices were high, but not unusual for the area. The hotel was about a 30 minute ride from the airport. The area was in the city, so it was convenient. It didn't necessarily feel safe to walk at night, but nothing outside of normal city life. I would recommend it overall.

Itโ€™s a decent place for its value. ๐Ÿ‘ cleanness is acceptable. ๐Ÿ‘ staff are great. ๐Ÿ‘ prime location and accessible to downtown areas. ๐Ÿ‘ cheapest parking. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ breakfast is served via coupons for Cafe downstairs. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ room is small for twin beds. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ tiny bathroom. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿพ showerhead has low water pressure due to leakage on the faucet

The location is excellent. The neighborhood is great, with a ton of food and beverage choices just a block or two away. It's easily accessible by car and there are multiple convenient public transit options available. The neighborhood is safe and fairly quiet for a city neighborhood. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. My single room was a good size and spotlessly clean on arrival. The small refrigerator and all of the other appliances worked perfectly. The bed is comfortable and my room also had a sitting chair with a foot rest/ottoman and a desk with a comfortable rolling task chair. There was plenty of storage space and a decent amount of electrical outlets. The bathroom was on the smaller side but functional, with a shower and bathtub. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Great view from higher floors, you can see Karl the Fog roll in later in the afternoon. Room was very clean, a good size with a nice seating area and excellent bathroom. Gym and self service laundry on site are really convenient. Good location and close to all the main attractions. Only negatives include random lift and mechanical noises in the room I stayed in (next door to lifts) which were distracting especially early in the morning and evening. Also there are no water bottles in the room, you need to buy one from a vending machine and then refill it in the gym. Overall though, I highly recommend and would stay again in the future.

Very a great location to stay in as everyone is close by. Grocery shopping centers, restaurants, public transit, landmarks, you name it. The rooms are great with fantastic room service. But, but the place that sells snacks and drinks down by the counter, has many broken workers which are rude as hell. I spent $20 down there for the first time, and I regret that. After that I spend $1000 for just food while my stay, which they could have earned and I am so glad wasted only 20 bucks. Avoid shopping from that kiosk. The rest was great ๐Ÿ‘

Great hotel. Located in close proximity to many night time hangouts and daytime attractions. I stayed here for three nights while attending a medical education conference. The rooms were sizeable, comfortable and impeccably maintained/cleaned. The service and staff were excellent and able to meet all my requests. The gym was a great perk and was well equipped. Overall, highly recommended for anyone staying in San Francisco for a few nights.

We stayed at the holiday inn golden gateway for 4 nights and it was wonderful! The location was perfect, a short ride to most tourist attractions. The staff was super helpful and responsive. When we called for extra towels or to take out the trash, they came immediately. The room was spacious enough, clean and had all the basic amenities. Would definitely recommend!

I'm going to give this hotel a 4.5 star as I've stayed in nicer hotels but it was a very pleasant stay. I was a bit worried with the complaints I read regarding house keeping but I didn't have that problem at all. I told the front desk I wanted my room service daily at 10am at check in and every day they did at 10 am. The hotel was clean and well kept and is located not even a block away from restaurants and the cable cars. The rooms are a bit small and was roughly 300 square feet but that feel more like 150 with a king bed. Was actually someone impressed as we got a rollout bed for my daughter and it was nicer than I was expecting. The one negative that I do agree with is the AC units can be a bit loud. I'm a light sleeper so I typically like complete silence, pitch black and cold but what I had to do was leave the TV on with the volume low at night and AC no lower than 70 and I was able to sleep uninterrupted

We travel a lot and truth be told are never really a fan of SF but love when we find a great hotel. This Holiday Inn was amazing. Alex at the front was so nice, super friendly and genuinely helpful. Not often we see people who love their jobs (or are good at faking it lol). Itโ€™s right next to a lot of fun bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was super nice. We ended up in room 1100 and the view was phenomenal.

The room itself was nice, and the hotel seems well kept. The area it's in is decently nice too, some good restaurants nearby. Just make sure you don't have a room above the pool, as you can hear everyone in there, which is especially annoying when trying to sleep in.

Completely loved the room, view and cleanliness. Most definitely would stay here again. Alex at the front desk was my favorite! He was kind and calm and cared. A mini crush for Alex just being a good human who was trying to help. They have an area you can get food and drinks and snacks that closes around 1000 or 1100ish so be prepared. The only reason it got 4 stars is because is was a small room for the price, but absolutely loved the room and the parking situation was confusing to me. But most definitely worth staying at this location to get to anything else you need.

Had a nice stay. Staff were friendly and the on-site coin laundry was very convenient. It is an older building however, sound travels through the walls and doors rather easily. The air condition was VERY loud. And some parts of the room were certainly dated. However the wifi was good and overall would consider coming back.

Decent stay, good value for money. Some of the biggest attractions of SF are within walking distance. There are also bike rental options nearby. As IHG Platinum I was upgraded to the 23rd floor and a corner room which was highly appreciated. One thing I did not appreciate is that they ignored my request to get my room cleaned. I think they should have a better system in place to ensure that these requests are fulfilled.

Staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating, your car is parked safe inside ($45 a night) beds are comfy as hell, close to walkable restaurants and Whole Foods! Had a great 2 night experience here. Will definitely book again.
