Nice clean hotel. It has a beautiful lobby and a little outdoor seating area next to it. Our bath tub had a weird bubble or something in the floor of it, which made taking a shower feel odd. There was a mini fridge, which was nice. The tap water was safe to drink, tho there was no bottles or anything else in the rooms. There is water bottle fillers on the first floor and up in the gym! We were told there was free coffee in the lobby, but maybe it was only on the weekend, as when we checked out Monday morning there was nothing available. Front desk staff were nice

The Grand Hyatt at Union Square is a wonderful hotel that I hope to return to soon. Have stayed at several hotels in the same area in the past and in different price ranges, but the Grand Hyatt is my favorite. The hotel seems to be well run in every way, the staff are pleasant, the bellboy/doorman service is impeccable. In addition, the level of cleaning is, for once, very good. Both the rooms and the hotel area are otherwise characterized by good order and cleanliness. If you want to live near Union Square, it is not possible to find a more perfect location. Very nice rooms of a good size. Tip: ask for a room as high up on the floors as possible with a view out onto Union Square.

Nice hotel right in the middle of Union Square. Easily accessible to lots of shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and check in was painless. We had 2 rooms, one of which was ready before the other so it was nice to be able to drop our stuff off and come back and get keys when the other room was ready. Lively bar and mezzanine area. We enjoyed having the option to stay at the hotel for the evening while still feeling like we were β€œon the scene.” 4-star review because our bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly upon arrival. I know some things are bound to be overlooked but in this day and age, I’d prefer that to not the bathroom. Would stay here again!

Excellent service, front desk, lobby, bar, restaurant, and valley parking stuff was courteous, and we would definitely stay here again. Entering the room was refreshing to see how nice and clean it was with all the amenities we need. Our room had a beautiful skyline views. Hotel located in the very best walkable location. Our one week stay was very good. Grand experience at a great place.

Whatever the reason that brings you to SF may be the location of this property really can’t be beat. For business it’s a 15 min walk to the convention center or to financial district along busy streets that feel very safe to walk by yourself compared to some of the streets just 2 blocks west. It’s right on the edge of Union square with amazing world class shopping the moment you walk outside. No ascending 200 feet hills to return to your room like nearby 5 star hotels.

Great hotel, great location and great view. However I’m giving 3 stars considering the lack of amenities in the room and the premium price I paid for it. Let me tell you it was not cheap, so I would expect much more for a 4 star hotel. Also I was not able to go to the last floor for the sunset which is something I was looking forward. Other than this the room service was good every time they cleaned, the views are amazing and the location is very convenient, there are bus stops or any form of transportation within a block or two and as a visitor I value this.

I love this hotel! The customer service is superb and the gym is amazing. It is really centric too for good food spots specially Asian stuff. The area has cleaned up a little of homeless people, I try to not wonder in the street after 10 pm but it is not the Hotel's fault is just the way downtown SF is these days. The hotel has a nice decor the rooms are comfortable and spacious and they have amazing bathtubs . Everything is always super clean and neat. I love this hotel and it makes my heart happy everytime I get to stay there .

Room was clean and well laid out, and all amenities were readily available. I did notice a sour smell in the room but it passed after a couple of days, or maybe I got used to it :D otherwise, it was nice and quiet despite being so central. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay in SF!

We had a nice room next to the SE corner, floor 24. Those hallways, when you exit the elevator, are confusing unless you Pay Attention! πŸ˜† Of course parking was atrocious$$ - we parked diagonally across the corner. Towels are grade B+, plenty nice but not Noteworthy. Same for the paper goods in the bathroom - I hate cheap rough paper and tissues. I loved the magnifying mirror at the little dressing table next to the bathroom. The toilet flush is very noisy and woke me in the night. On occasional flushes (I didn't figure out the variable that Caused it) there is a Loud scraping Bad noise that makes you jump. The shower water pressure is below average but does the job. I had to provide my own bathroom nightlight, and didn't value the motion-activated floor-light by the bedsides. It would come on from ?flapping the covers around? and disturb me. I know they were trying to be helpful. There was no "service" other than the maid, but she was very friendly and Did Come on our second day (of 2). So many hotels aren't doing daily Maid service. The view is great, although the silly sliding door could only open about 6 inches. The view from the gym is Fabulous. Having No bathroom in the lobby is an irritant to me. It is up the elevator (a wait), 2nd floor, but at least it doesn't require a room key, although there is one of those pads by the door where a room key is "booped". Thanks for unlocked.

Edit: 2 separate stays: one room better than the other.. The service was phenomenal. The employees set it apart from being just another hotel. The first visit the room was lovely. The second room was not as kept up to date but the standards of the service and cleanliness did not waiver.

The Grand Hyatt Hotel is one of San Francisco's luxury hotels, strategically located in the city's Union Square. The room in this four-star hotel is very good and comfortable. Basically, the beds, tables, chairs, sofas and other facilities in the room are of good quality and hi-classes to meet our convenient needs. First in first, please remember to ask for a hi-rise position bedroom with bay view, the higher the better, then we will have a better view looking out from the hotel room window. If it is in the correct position with an appropriate view, we can enjoy the beautiful city view of San Francisco as well as the beautiful scenery of the bay and harbor, and the welknown Golden Gate Bridge of course. We can also easily take public transportation from here to travel freely to many nearby tourist attractions and landmarks. It is close to San Francisco's Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street at Russian Hill, and only a short drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and winery at Napa Valley. Grand Hyatt Hotel of San Francisco is surely the right choice for us when coming to San Francisco, easy to reach tourism sites pleasantly. (201123/x)

Great first stat here at the Grand Hyatt off of Stockton. I took my family here (wife and 2 kids) and it was a wonderful experience. Customer service: 5/5. I reserved a room that (potentially) had a soaking tub and called main customer service if that was possible. They had told me that they would put in a request. Upon checking in, I told them my name and the GM (Agnes) immediately came out to personally greet me and also let me know that there no rooms with the tub, but they would instead put me in a suite of my choice. They definitely did not have to do that but that extra step was very appreciated and made me feel valuable as a Hyatt loyalist. Room: 5/5. We had the bay view suite and highly recommend it. It was a two bedroom suite perfect for a family. Everything worked properly and very clean. Seems like they had just repainted so there was a bit of a lingering odor but we simply opened the door to allow fresh air in. Location: 5/5. We wanted to be close to Chinatown for the APEC kickoff so it was in the perfect location. We were close to Union Square for some shopping but also a walk away from Chinatown. Also close to all the central transit hubs you would need to get around. Grand Club was always well stocked and maintained. Overall a wonderful stay and standout customer service. Thank you to all the staff that worked so hard.

Perfect location in downtown! The doormen/valet were incredibly friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Check-in was easy and our room was ready when we arrived. The room was as advertised, not too roomy which is fine for two people, although I can see it get crowded for a group of four. Housekeeping was attentive, we had requested more towels and they were knocking on our door with more towels within 20 minutes which was amazing considering it was very early in the morning. Overall our stay was amazing and I would definitely stay again.

Ideal for a quick weekend visit to San Francisco. Rooms were great and spacious, and I had a stunning view of the city. If anything, I spent a solid half an hour trying to figure out how to turn on the lights of the room...

Had a pleasant and enjoyable stay on the 31st floor. Loved the view, quiet room and friendly staffs. Housekeeping service was satisfactory - sheets were kept clean, fresh towels everyday, coffee pod and tea refills. Right smack at Union Square. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable, centrally located stay.

Great hotel and location. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The rooms were pleasantly sized. If I had to have one negative, the gym was perhaps not quite as nice as some other Hyatt properties in the area, but even that is a stretch. Will end up coming back for sure!

A wonderful place to stay. Depending on your room, can offer amazing views. I would definitely book again. Rooms are lovely, modern, clean, luxurious. Service is impeccable, helpful and efficient. Location is very convenient for the business traveler.

Good location, the meeting facilities were great. However the suites are looking dated, and some of the food options were just not up to what I expect from grand Hyatt. Especially the breakfast and the hotel restaurant just had very limited options. The gym has great views, as well as the lounge.

I've stayed a couple of times in this hotel and I don't have a single complaint. Everything is in its place, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The gym is clean and organized. Bed sheets were clean and I haven't had any issues with hot water. Yes, it's true that it may lack of some amenities, but it wasn't a big deal for me. No doubt I'll come back next year.

Comfortable, clean room, with beautiful bay view overlooking the city. Slightly disappointed with in-room amenities. No robes/slippers. Had to get bottles of water from front desk. Though we just purchased our own. Staff were friendly, and catered to our every need. Breakfast was superb! We enjoyed our stay. Love the electric blinds/shutters! Would stay again.

Expected more from a 4-star hotel. Room was reasonably clean, but amenities left more to be desired. No bottles of water in room, could only get it from front desk, no toiletries kit, no bathrobe, no slippers, etc. Walls are super thin, as many reviewers mentioned. I heard full conversations every time my neighbor was in her room. Service staff were always friendly but the weird lack of in-room amenities was unexpected. Would not recommend because there are places where you get more for the price you pay.

Located close to union square, prime area worth great shopping places around. Rooms are excellent. Flexible reading lights, window shades can be controlled from bed or near the room entrance. Night lamps below table have motion sensors, so it is easier in night. Staff is polite. On-site cafe and concierge service is available. Overall happy with the stay.
