It was our third wedding anniversary - we were greeted by the front desk with a Happy 3rd Anniversary, and when we came back to our room, there was a bottle of wine and a lovely handwritten note. Big smiles, people happy to be there, to have a job and appreciated that people were returning to travel. The service in the hotel, by literally everyone, was outstanding. The rooms have a fun whimsical nautical theme. It houses a museum which is a lot of fun. There is free bike rentals for 2 hours which is a nice way to look along the water front. The rooms are clean, and you feel very safe. The location is wonderful - super close to a trolley stop, easy walking distance to museums, restaurants, and shopping. It even houses a wine tasting room that was fun. The restaurant has good food however like most tourist places, it's a little on the expensive side but they try to be very accommodating. Will definitely stay there again. Was a wonderful experience.

We are not versed travellers and have not stayed in a lot of hotels but I have to say, without question, the Argonaut Hotel is THE nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. We chose a bay view King room which was just amazing. A huge room with fabulous character and a glorious view across the bay with the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. Everyone in the hotel is so friendly and helpful. The lobby/lounge area is just beautiful and the Blue Mermaid restaurant is great. Step outside and you have so many choices of where you go and where to eat all within walking distance. We highly recommend the Argonaut Hotel so much so that when we return, and we will some day, this is the only hotel we would come to stay at. It is that good. Thank you everyone at the Argonaut Hotel for making it holiday so special. Peace ✌️ and Love ❤️ Russ and Jackie Clements

While it is a beautiful facility in the heart of Fishermans Wharf, it certainly had its downfalls. The restaurant staff of their expensive restaurant acted as though they were put out by me asking for some water to go with my breakfast, and how dare I ask for condiments. I went for my complementary coffee each morning and I was treated as though I was putting them out. The larger woman with dark hair who brought up our room service, was rude and acted irritated when I asked if they had a table to put our room service on. We were thrilled to have a bay view from our room facing Jefferson street, however if you have one of these rooms, be prepared to be kept awake by the street performers who use a speaker until 10 pm every night. When I voiced my complaints to the front desk staff, I was told they cannot do anything about it. Basically who cares and screw you. They generously took $100 off of our $2000 stay. Laughable to say the least. I won’t ever use this hotel and would suggest to anyone choosing to spend the money, to find another hotel.

We stayed for 11 nights in the hotel and it was a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful, we always had a little chat about our activities and how it was going. We liked it very much and will certainly consider staying at the Argonaut hotel again when we come back to San Francisco one day.

We had a bay/bridge view room which was great, the bridge did show itself out of the fog on a couple of occasions during our stay. The room was huge compared to many other hotels we have stayed in, however, the bathroom was small in comparison to the rest of the room. Bed was super comfy! We used the Blue Mermaid for drinks on a couple of occasions, the service was good and liked the outdoor seating area. I'd recommend the hotel as other than great facilities, it has a great location right on fisherman's wharf

We had high expectations - right on Fisherman's Wharf with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge or the Bay with Alcatraz (attention, you have to book that way) - and we weren't disappointed, on the contrary. A wonderful hotel with all the services, very friendly and helpful staff, wonderful, stylishly furnished rooms with a sensational view, a great atmosphere and the best location. We were able to ride with bikes (rental with a discount through the hotel) to and over the Golden Gate Bridge, an unforgettable experience. It is a short walk to the ship departures and the famous Pier 39 with the sea lions. The breakfast - at the usual high prices in the USA - was great and one evening we also had a good meal in the hotel. We felt very comfortable !

My family and I stayed at the Argonaut recently for a few days and it was a lovely experience. The location is top notch, super close to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf, lots of little shops and places to eat nearby, and the rooms were very clean and updated. Brendan checked us in and he was so helpful and very kind, was very pleasant and had a great demeanor. Everyone at the hotel was super nice and friendly. I like how there is a card in your room telling you who helps to service your room. Our room attender for the nights we stayed was Jane and she did a great job servicing our room each night. Overall was a great stay and we will absolutely stay here again.

Such a wonderful place. Very happy we chose this hotel during our San Francisco stay. The security was amazing. Valet parking was easy breezy. There is a really nice gift shop right across the street. Short walk to nice restaurants but we ordered in. The minibar was fantastic, and the complementary bottle of wine was a nice touch. we definitely won’t stay anywhere else when we visit San Francisco in the future. Highly recommend adding the parking package onto your room because it was one less thing we had to deal with which made our stay more enjoyable.

I had a wonderful time here. This is a beautiful hotel with its own theme and charm. It’s located within walking distance to many tourist attractions in the Marina and Fisherman’s wharf area. They provide valet and bellhop service when you arrive. The room I was in is long and narrow but there was ample space for my stay. The room was delightfully quiet and we had a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge even though we were facing the western side. The Blue Mermaid restaurant is onsite as well as a Ben and Jerry’s. It was raining while there and the hotel provided an umbrella in our room in case we needed it. My husband and I appreciated the hospitality during our stay for our anniversary and look forward to coming back.

Overall I love the place, nice match for historical building style with comfort. Nice staff, convenience in parking walking n surrounded by great dining places. Parking lot have valet but just a bit pricey. You have the option to rent the car few days next to hotel.

I generally don’t write reviews on hotels but this is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed at in a long time!! Staff are super friendly, helpful and efficient. From the front desk to the valet to the concierge, they are top notch! I highly recommend this hotel and it is worth every penny! Location is also a plus.

This is a nice, very well run hotel. It's in a great location, away from the busy centers of San Francisco. The room was clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good quality (if expensive). We did find the air conditioning system to be overly noisy though which is the ONLY reason for the 3 Star rating for the rooms. That aside, if you're looking for a nice and well run hotel, that's not too expensive, near to the piers/Alcatraz/Sausalito ferries, cable cars etc., then I thoroughly recommend the Argonaut!

This is the best hotel we have stayed at. Just wonderful from the first moment we got there. The staff were so friendly and helpful! They upgraded our room and gave us a bottle of wine and chocolates for our anniversary! They arranged a ride to the airport for us. We will definitely stay here again. I have recommended this hotel to all our friends!

Just returned from a stay at this hotel. The location is excellent in terms of all the local attractions and has lovely views. The room was a little disappointing - odd layout with no plug sockets near the mirror or bed, poor plumbing (very old shower which shot water out in spurts and we had issues with the toilet) but was kept very clean. They did find us a kettle as there was none in the room. The lifts were a nightmare - one always out of order and the other very slow. I felt it was a hotel for business guests rather than leisure but overall comfortable, clean and well located.

Our nautical home away from home. The Argonaut is my favorite San Francisco getaway, as it has everything one needs to feel welcomed in the City by the Bay. One of the major perks is its' location. It's perfectly situated where all the action is on the wharf: restaurants, shopping, street artists, trolley cars and more. The decor follows a nautical theme, including comfy deck chairs in the lobby, and gorgeous wood reception desks. Everything makes you feel right at home and goes above and beyond to make sure you have all you need for a comfortable stay.

Hotel is fantastic, check in was easy and staff are all friendly and more than happy to help. This is particularly nice after a long flight! The room was spacious, clean and had a mini-fridge, safe, a seal stuffed toy with the hotel name written (part of the mini-bar, so there is a charge - a cute touch I might add!), with an amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge, couldn’t fault the excellent room here. The on-site restaurant serves great food and I’d highly recommend breakfast here.

Highly recommend! Booked a birthday stay-cation here, and the rooms were huge + service was incredible. We were very impressed, especially because they were so welcoming of my friend’s dog. We didn’t eat at the restaurant, so can’t speak to that but they gave us a thoughtful goody bag for the dog, a bottle of wine for my friend’s birthday, and a sweet welcome note. As a native to SF, this is also a wonderful location to nearby parks and beach. Would def stay here again!

Nice Hotel with Ideal location on Fisherman’s Wharf. I would not recommend buying the Bed and Breakfast package, since all you will get is a lousy continental breakfast. I also felt, that on presenting the vouchers at the Mermaid Restaurant you are treated as a third class guest. Our waiter hasn’t been even able for a friendly ‚Good Morning‘. So the service there was absolutely ridiculous. Bering there for dinner as a paying customer the story was totally different and satisfying.

Great area with lots of dining in the area. Good location to setup as main post to explore San Francisco. Affordable but safe hotels in this area. Valet seemed to be backed up at times. Sometimes car wouldn’t be available from garage as there wasn’t enough staff. Sound echos off brick in rooms quite a bit. If you are traveling with kids or infants this could be something to keep in mind. Front desk staff was great. The hotel restaurant “Blue Mermaid” was just like most other hotel restaurants.

The hotel is in a great location if you'd like to visit Fisherman's Wharf. It is fun, with a nautical theme, and has very nice, clean, large rooms and good staff. It has a convenient restaurant, but convenience is the best part about it.

Very very nice location! Close to everything!! Fisherman’s Wharf just 5-10 walking distance. We stayed there for 3 nights, front desk representatives were helpful and welcoming. Room had a fridge, would prefer to have a microwave too lol. Edit: The hotel charged us twice and I’ve calling for hours nobody can help, keeping transferring my call!!! THEY CHARGED ME $1,433 twice!!!!

We had a very good experience, the room was clean and the people at the front desk was really kind and professional. The lobby is a very big room with a nice fireplace, low lights and a quite place even when there is a lot of people (good music selection). I really liked the style, seems like to be on a cruise ship! Good location, you can easily walk for restaurants or stores (even grocery store).

We had a nice visit at this hotel, which has a cute Maritime theme to it. There is a nice wine bar and restaurant in the hotel which are great places to visit. The rooms are very nice and spacious with big, comfy beds. The lobby is very open and a great atmosphere with a fireplace to sit and lounge or drink a glass of wine. The staff was very nice as well. The only downside was a loud, banging noise we could hear in the room every so often. It sounded like something mechanical, like something to do with the water system/heater....I'm not sure. It's sounded like slamming a very heavy door. But it was very loud and would wake us up.

Room was pretty good. A bit dark and musty but a good size. Bed was not particularly comfortable. Room was quiet. Location in heart of Fisherman’s Wharf. Service was basically non existent. Water in room was old fashioned $5 for a small bottle instead of free water which I expect these days. Would not accommodate request for a small space to do an early conference call. Nobody at front desk when I arrived. Expect more for the price which wasn’t crazy but not inexpensive either.

This location cannot be beat. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very professional and helpful. Only complaint is the parking prices but I know that’s just San Francisco. The hotel used to be a Del Monte factory and a lot of the history and architectural details still remain, which is really cool.

Great location relaxed vibe hotel. Room had two large double beds and looked out to the water. Had to pay extra for internet speeds that sustain video calls - $20/day. Room was clean and quite spacious, shower was in the bath and bathroom felt a little old school.

Location ! The is across from Ghirardelli and on the wharf. Our kids loved this area and we didn't need to drive anywhere. The hotel lobby is so charming as well as the entire hotel vibe. Rooms were darling and we felt welcomed by the staff. We felt very safe and loved the variety of restaurants nearby. Stay here to be a tourist for a few days !

I used to live 2 blocks away from this hotel and it's a great location for work and personal travelers- especially as an alternative from the typical, grittier neighborhoods folks stay like fisherman's wharf and mid market/downtown. Amazing views (i was in bayview king); very friendly staff; only had breakfast at their restaurant but it was very good. Value is incredible - very reasonable room rates. I will stay here again. thanks!

The location is everything. North Beach, Golden Gate, Pier, Alcatraz, chocolate shop, hop on bus (Hyde street) are all within walking distance. This is the place you can use as base camp to explore the city. We were tourists for a few days and felt very comfortable & safe(!) throughout the stay. Excellent hospitality. Thank you - and see you next time. P/S: bed and pillow are on the soft side but nothing too serious that will disrupt your sleep

Overall it was a pleasant experience at the Argonaut hotel. The rooms are spacious and well decorated, check in was easy but valet was a little hectic as there were numerous people attempting to check in at the same time. The valet team did a seller job of navigating that though. They offer free internet that is barely enough to do the basics with, you have to pay $20/day for decent Internet.
