The hotel staff is rude and brutal due to the hotel's mistake the credit card was not charged. The receptionist reacted rudely and threatened to call the police. When the matter was settled he did not even apologize. The shower is a bathtub surrounded by a protective curtain from water that sticks to the guest in a very repulsive way. The rooms are old and loud noise comes from the street and makes it difficult to sleep. There was no flexibility when getting the room even though we offered an additional payment. Uri Alon Israel

We have a week timeshare. A two bedroom that has windows facing Pine Street. We think it's great. This year was different for our focus on catching up on medical appts instead of touring. But we noticed the cable cars running again and hope for the general return of historic normality. It was fun being back in the west coast's "City".

This hotel is as far from standard as you can get. It's individual and quirky and fabulous. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and there's complimentary tea and sherry every afternoon. The general manager Mehrnaz is welcoming, beautiful and fabulous. We were given an upgrade to a corner suite and the additional space was amazing: huge bedroom with a brass bed and fireplace and a separate sitting room with an additional tv and hand basin. There were plenty of electric sockets too for an older property. A memorable stay in a memorable city.

Everything was as expected. The rooms are a bit old, but clean. Exactly like the pictures online. The hotel has its own charm. The location is very convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is someone at the reception 24/7. I have read some negative reviews regarding the house policies. E.g. you must leave your key at the reception when leaving. I actually liked it. I do not need to worry about losing the key. Allowing access to the rooms only to guests makes the place feel safe and keeps the calm atmosphere. The noise from the street is normal for a hotel located in the city.

The staff are kind and courteous, unfortunately the amenities are lacking. We were on the 4th floor and it was very warm all night(too warm). There is no air conditioning so you just have to open the windows but then you get major road noise all night. The claw foot tub was very difficult to shower in and there was no adjustability for the temperature, the water was super hot so I couldn't really rinse my face or anything. The location is decent though if you're wanting to be downtown.

Old fashioned time share with pleasant atmosphere. However if you have guests their is only one bedroom with a bed the other is an old fashioned pull out sofa bed. Would be nice if they upgraded to a better sofa bed. We also had a small kitchen which was nice and a small grocery next door for milk, bread, coffee etc. Convenient walk to Market Street off Taylor and close to Chinatown. In the days when I could walk many miles I would walk to the pier and parks.

Great for the price: staff most professional and friendly! Very European with the glass Elevator traveling thru a wrap around staircase. We loved the front turret room suite and central location in Nob Hill SF!

Very reasonably priced. Small room, but clean and in reasonable condition. The bathroom was great. The service was brilliant and reception staff in particular were lovely and very helpful. It's an excellent location for all of the sights of the city. I would definitely stay here again.

Fairly easy access to public transportation. Lots of walking on hills required.

Very nice accommodations. An older Victorian type building with older furniture with a quaint feel. No frills or specials. For our use, visiting our son who lived don the street, it was a perfect location.
