Pros: good location, nice and clean rooms. Cons: Breakfast is terrible. I got charged 4.5$ for a coffee cup while the exact same coffee was offered for free 10 steps away. They charge 22$ for 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices , 3 burnt potatoes and 4 pieces of wet toasts. Recommend going elsewhere.

Hotel Zelos is indeed in a good location and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. With that being said, there's a few things that are very interesting about this place. When checking in there was no discussion about an amenity fee of $29 plus tax per night. We found it strange this charge was so high due to the fact the amenities included 'Free' WiFi (Which every hotel in the world has in this day and age), a 10$ bar credit which we weren't made aware of and lastly morning coffee or tea is available in 6oz cups. For $29 a night these fee's don't reciprocate what you get in return. I understand hotels charge amenity fee's and they need to stay 'competitive' with other hotels amenity charges but being charged an extra $90 for three nights for their amenities' is a rip off. The hotel was decently nice and the staff were great however for the cost, Hotel Zelos just isn't worth the price.

Nice hotel! Most comfy bed I have ever slept on!! Really cool, art and design! Good location. I thought I was getting a great deal!! Since I am on budget I was shocked as soon as I arrived and found out we are getting charged 30 something dollars a night for amenities! Honestly would have booked somewhere else had I known that. They have coffee, tea and Internet…. That is all not worth 30 dollars extra a night. Also they mention they have room service but in fact do not because of COVID. They should add the 30 dollar amenities fee to the price of the room as it’s a bit of false advertising otherwise.

Pros: Good location. Front desk staff were friendly. Bed was comfy. Cons: I have an issue with this hotel being described as 'eco conscious' as it absolutely wasn't in my experience. They changed the towels even though I'd hung them up according to their instructions (which said to hang them up if you don't want fresh towels). After housekeeping had been in, every single lamp in the room was left on. Nowhere to fill up a water bottle so you end up with no choice but to use tons of plastic. The room weirdly had an adjoining door to another room. It was locked but you could hear everything from next door. The toilet cistern was cycling water constantly so the noise was a bit annoying and the air con/heating was incredibly loud. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Not a bad hotel but expensive for what you get.

The hotel location is primary. Close to Union Square and transportation. Closest shopping and restaurants. Been the manager at the hotel is really great. Guys that work at night are excellent. The rooms are extra clean and the housekeepers are great. The only thing I got really offended at was a $35 a day resort fee. So once you really get charged on your credit card is not what you sign up for. There was a good deal on travel zoo so we signed up for it. Then when you go to check in the bill is totally different. I inquired why this was and they said because every hotel in San Francisco has a resort fee. So if they were to put that onto their true price they wouldn’t get any business because they have to be competitive. So everyone in San Francisco has a resort fee. It is definitely not a resort. It’s a business class hotel. And you need to watch the charges on the room because I got slammed for $50 in food that I didn’t use. I wasn’t real happy with the billing. And I think that they should present you with a bill on an iPad or some thing when you’re signing out. You really have to watch the payment. And it didn’t feel very transparent to me.

The hotel itself is fine. It's in a great location. It's about the same quality as you would find at a Holiday Inn or Marriott, only it's about triple the price per night. Plus there is a mandatory amenity fee which is $45 PER DAY that they don't tell you about until you check in. So I'm paying $45 ever day for "amenities" and they still want $7 for freaking bottle of water in the room. REALLY? They probably charge for the toilet paper too. 🙄

A solid option if you are attending a local conference as it is a block from many of these conference halls. The rooms are decent size especially when many in the area are getting smaller. I had a particularly bad experience in room 504 which is outside the restaurant on the 5th floor. DO NOT STAY IN THIS ROOM IF YOU CAN. Even though they say it’s an “upgrade” which it is for more space, it sounds like you are sleeping in a restaurant. It is SO LOUD. I’m sure it’s the same for rooms 503-510 A few cons: - amenity fee: know this coming in. It is $29 a night and does not include the valet. I don’t think it lives to its value. - gym is tiny: as part of the amenity fee, this is a disappointment of a gym. Maybe it’s the Peloton that they think is worth the cost… - it’s noisy: the doors are really thin, so be wary if they give you a 5th floor (where the restaurant is) or 6th floor (where the gym is). These floors are high traffic and you will hear everyone going by. It’s also true about the toilet flush sound people mention in other reviews.

I was excited to stay at a nice 4 star hotel for my birthday. I specifically booked the spa king room for the beautiful soaking tub. Upon my arrival I noticed some trash under the bed (brought to my attention by my dog who went straight to it)and human hair all over the room including in the tub & shower. Fortunately I travel with my own cleaning supplies. When I got to the tub to clean it I legitimately almost had a breakdown. The jets in the tub were filthy with what appears to be mold. I went downstairs to the lobby to lodge a complaint and was given the manager's card - Ben Lau. I called & left him a voicemail the night I arrived along with an email that included picutures of the tub and damage to the cabinet doors in the bathroom. Ben NEVER followed up. I checked in October 27th and checked out October 30th. I called him October 31 and was told he wasnt there. Called November 1 and was told the same thing. I called two or three more times on November 2nd before I finally got in contact with him. Ben told me he was "just now seeing my email" because he was on vacation the last 4 out of 6 days. Ive successfully completed basic math - what about the other 2 out of 6 days ? After expressing my disappointment he refunded me $120 back. Which isnt even a nights stay & i was told he could not refund the pet fee because they had to clean up my dogs hair. It's a pet friendly hotel so I've done nothing wrong & I cleaned up an atrocious amount of human hair that did not belong to me. He offered to upgrade me should I ever choose to stay again but the lack of response and care from the manager has left me more upset than I would have been had there been SOME attempt to remedy my situation while I was still at the hotel. Also the cabinet in the restroom very obviously needs to be replaced as it is an eyesore. I have no issue with any of the staff except management/Ben as everyone else was friendly and at least pretended to care and be helpful

This is an excellent hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the location is right at the centre of city. We had a very pleasant interaction with the reception staff (Jeff and Cassidy) who were welcoming and helpful. We highly recommend Hotel Zelos.!

The hotel was very clean and modern and has great amenities. I love the chic vibes and decor. The front desk representatives were always very nice and accommodating. I'd definitely stay here again! The location is very convenient, next to a large mall and trader Joe's, walking distance from a lot of restaurants and coffee shops, across the street from a BART station. My one con is that the area is a bit rough, a lot of unhoused people and addicts, there was a shooting half a block away the first night we were there, and we saw a physical altercation around the corner one night on our way back to the hotel.

Friends since high school, 5 girls turning 50 in town to see Pink. We thought we had picked the perfect hotel,, and went out of our normal Marriott box. We got 2 rooms prepaid for $300 each. Got there was told restaurant and bar were closed(nothing said on booking site) for the night. Which were two things that were important when choosing out hotel. Manager Ben, didn’t seem to concerned with our disappointment. Gave is $10 coupons for breakfast, but the were already included in the reservation. Went to breakfast, waiter was rude as well as parking attendant. Again, manager just said sorry. We left there with another bill for $250 on top of what we had already paid for our room. It was for parking, more taxes, and $39 per room for “amenities “ such as Wifi)didn’t use) shampoo, soap , toilet paper, Things that should already be include in the room price. I called the manager again after I got home to share our disappointment, and all he said was, we gave you $10 credits for breakfast) again 2 $10 credits were already included in the room price. What it boils down to is our disappointment in the hotel really pit a wrench in our girls night stay. I don’t know about everyone else, but getting 4 of my very busy best friends from high school together was a gift from god and a lot of planning went into making it happen. There are so many other hotels near Hotsl Zelos, that there will never be a reason for us to stay there again. I am a very big Marriott fan, and there was one right across the street. I should have stuck with what I know, and how I love their customer service. Aside from the hotel being a huge disappointment, the Pink concert was amazing!!!

Awesome stay! The location was perfect, close to our conference downtown, on the corner of a metro/bart station and a streetcar/bus stop to take us around the city. Friendly and flexible management, amazing value for the price! The hotel restaurant Dirty Habit was also great!

The location is great even with a busy bus stop right outside the door. The ambience was nice. But when walking in, it feels like they pump the lobby with so much cologne that it was overwhelming. It's the only way in and out of the hotel though. The rooms were nice but didn't stand out from other hotels I've stayed in like the Holiday Inn Express for example. Beds were really comfortable. There was a small fridge but no microwave. The shower doors were in a weird configuration with the inside handled door closing in front of the toilet instead of where I needed to get in and out. It was an odd setup. The fan didn't work in the bathroom either. And there were hairs on the sliding door. The breakfast was really good. But it all starts with the lobby area and the smell was too overwhelming. Great location and that's all that it was for me.

a totally nice and fine hotel that’s really convenient to BART. the amenities fee was a total surprise for me, and added a few hundred dollars to my bill. given that it’s not optional, it feels like a really hidden fee to me. robot art was not to my taste! also found a hair wrapped around the shampoo in my shower, not my fav.

Older hotel that’s has the lipstick on a pig makeover. It’s showing it’s age dispute the modern furnishings. Staff not particularly friendly. Rooms not particularly clean/dusty (found a previous guest sock in our room).

Great location, clean, very friendly staff! However, doesn’t really feel like a 4-star hotel…Which was a little disappointing because my boyfriend and I had treated ourselves, and were looking forward to the experience. There’s no room service or pool. The restaurant is supposed to stop serving food at 10, but usually stops by 9:30. :( The bathrooms could use upgrading.

Really well located, and service was really nice. The room is big and roomy. The painting on the wall reminded me of "I, Robot" or something, not fully my jam. Would have also liked if there was a master switch somewhere near the bed, had to get up and turn all the lights off, which seems a bit daunting when you're falling asleep.

I stayed at this hotel for four days on a business trip and had a great experience. The front desk staff (especially the night manager who checked me in- he was extremely helpful) were really friendly, the room was spacious and clean, the other guests were quiet despite the hotel being busy, and the location was perfect for walking to where I needed to go. I will definitely be booking this hotel for all future trips to SF!

Wow, Zelos really made our stay special. We were visiting San Francisco for my husbands birthday and the hotel reached out to me asking if there’s anything they can do for his birthday.. when we arrived, there was a bottle of champagne and a birthday note, hand written. The rooms are big, and clean. Very modern feel inside, and the artwork throughout the hotel was really abstract and awesome. Anytime we’re in the Bay Area, we will be staying here. Another awesome feature is the front door is key access 24/7 and there’s security at night.. very safe.

Fantastic location! Comfy beds and large rooms - lots of space to move around especially when sharing with friends. Friendly staff, nothing was too much. Tasty breakfast at Dirty Habit (in fact it was so tasty we ate the same thing twice). Thank you for an amazing stay!!!
