Overall my stay here has been disappointing. I paid close to 300 dollars for a room without a working refrigerator. This place also charges a 35 dollar ammendities fee. I contacted the front desk to which the receptionist was quick to send someone with a replacement. By the time someone came in with a fridge the employee checked the current fridge and said it was still good. To add a dash of condescension he stated "hotel fridges aren't like home fridges" he then left in less than a minute and did not switch the fridge. I have been to multiple hotels before so I know how "hotel fridges function". Fast forward 3 hours later my items in my fridge are still room temp. At this point I have decided it's not worth my time to pursue this further. I will never return to this hotel and I recommended anyone considering coming here also consider that staff may be short and condescending. To top things off the restroom exhaust fan stopped working mid day. I assume at one point this place was a quality hotel. For 300 dollars I expect a hospitality to match.

Ok this Hotel. The walking distance for the Bay Area canā€™t be beat! They have great activities in the hotel, and a abundance of food locations within walking distance. As for the roomsā€¦ theyā€™ve tried to paint and sparkle up some very old and small rooms. The bed are uncomfortable and small as well. The rooms look nothing like the pictures in the website. The lobby and courtyard are amazing and very up to date they just need to focus on the rooms next. They donā€™t clean or restock the roomā€™s daily or weekly for that matter, you need something you have to ask for it. I requested the room be cleaned and restocked once, not only did they not do it but I had to take out my own trash and go get more towels. When I went to the front desk and said something they asked if we wanted it done right then and there. We had been out for hoursā€¦ I have a babyā€¦ No way were we going to leave again so they could do something I already asked. They gave me a $20 refund for the troubleā€¦

tourist trap, overpriced for what you get, nothing special. all up, we paid $350/night. yes we had a bay view, but couldnā€™t open the windows and had no balcony so it wasnā€™t really that cool. the people at the front desk were super nice. they were great hosts and had recommendations when asked (thanks, team). legit, our room to the lobby was 500 steps on our watch. it took foreverā€¦ comically long hallways. i suppose thatā€™s not a bad thing, but i kept imagining people lugging big bags through the hallways and how insane that would be. no food on site, no bar, the game room was cool but not worth the extra $30+ /night you pay to use it. after staying here for two nights, we got curious to see what else was out there and there were much nicer places in better areas. we would not stay here again.

We got two rooms for two nights. One smelled like body odor and the other reeked of pet urine. It was so bad that even us spraying it with spray didnā€™t help the smell. The hotel is pet friendly which is great but maybe use some extra cleaning products? I mean it was awful! The bell desk people told us that we canā€™t bring down our own stuff and have to use bell desk because of liability reasons. The bell boy dropped our stuff, broke a bunch of things that spilled on my jacket and completely ruined it and the only thing he had to say was: I cut myself. We didnā€™t wanna use them to begin with and didnā€™t even get an apology for ruined clothes and broken stuff. Israel the valet driver was great. The location was awesome and the activities inside of the hotel were neat but the pet urine smell for two days was unbearable. We would not be staying there again.

Had a decent experience at this spot. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do and see. Parking in the garage was the most expensive parking I've had. The rooms were small but nice and clean. We had a balcony but it looked out to the roof of a first floor so not much of a view. The problem for me was the lights flickering. I presume it's because of the elevator. I kept hearing stomping from above. I kept getting bit by mosquitoes (horrible) but of course that's not the hotel's fault. The thing I didn't like the most was I was sandwiched between two loud rooms. First room had a dog that barked all night, and the second room kept trying to open my door and or knock. Kept going to the first room and being super loud as they were probably drunk and hanging out. The staff were okay and nice. Overall I think there are rooms for improvement (no pun intended), but I had a great time with my family. Just not quite sure if I will stay here again. But I hope your experience is better than mine.

Excellent location to use public transit and see fishermanā€™s wharf. Lobby was fun and playful. Room was missing a fridge, mentioned this to the front desk and was told it was because we booked through a third party site. Showed our reservation, and was given more attitude and told the fridges are just for the higher end rooms. Carpet was coming up in the room and sink didnā€™t drain. Not afraid to pay but i do expect a bit better treatment. **In response to Tony, just to clarify, we booked directly through Hotel Zephyr's website, and the confirmation listed a fridge as an in room amenity. When this was shown to your staff, the attendant replied that only high end rooms have fridges. We enjoyed SF, but felt the impression has already been made unfortunately.

The location and the staff are the best attributes of the hotel. Every person we ran across was warm and helpful. Giant praise to the housekeeping staff as well! The rooms are basic. The beds were pretty comfortable, the shower was low pressure and lukewarm. All the provided bathroom amenities were nice. The furniture was scuffed up and worn. The hotel was decent, if it was in any other location it would not be worth the price. The game room was fun, and the fire pits were amazing. I did not hear any noises from other rooms which is phenomenal, the street noises start at 6 am and can be alarming if you are a light sleeper.

I was in town on business and visited Hotel Zephyr... Parking was easy. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is nice. They have a nice outdoor area and a huge game room! pretty awesome! I was able to see several of the rooms and they were nice and clean. Great views of Alcatraz and the Embarcadero / piers! I'd definitely stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zephyr. Starting with the check in process, the team were all very nice and were able to check us in early with a beautiful view of the water. The double bed room was a bit tight but in good condition. We had an issue with our toilet which was quickly resolved by the team. The only improvement would be a bed thatā€™s a bit more comfy. The hotel itself is centrally located and loved the style of it. The courtyard area and sā€™mores kits were a nice touch. Overall I would recommend anyone to stay here when in San Francisco!

We really enjoyed Hotel Zephyr. You can't beat the location and view! The rooms are small but clean. The indoor/outdoor game area were fun for the whole family and we really enjoyed the fire pits and s'mores. The nautical Popeye theme creates a unique atmosphere. My kids can't wait to return. Highly recommend for a family getaway!

The room was great! We had an awesome time with the Hotel, how close it was to the wharf, and the activities in the hotel. Our daughter loved the stores, firepits, and games! The decor was a unique experience and loved our stay. Staff was extremely friendly and polite. Would love to stay again on our next trip to SF.

The hotel is very neat with great rooms. They have very nice court yard area with fire pits and lots of games like pool, table tennis, chess, etc. My kids really loved the hotel. The location is great. The hotel stuff was very friendly and helpful. When we called asking if they had a microwave somewhere in the lobby, they just brought the microwave in our room! We had a really pleasant time staying in this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

Been there first week of December for one night. The hotel is nice, what I liked the most is that everything inside is following the "fishermen" thematic and I have to say it's really well done. Rooms are spacious and clean, the price is fair considering you are in the piers area (Which is exactly where I wanted to be :). The hotel is right around the corner of the Big Bus Tour office, 5 minutes away from Pier 35 where the Alcatraz tour starts and 1 mile away from the famous Lombard street. Perfect for us since we only had one and half day in San Francisco. Didn't have many interaction with employees from the hotel except in the reception, where they were nice and friendly Free and fast wifi connection. Recommended.

Nice hotel for families. Right across from fishermanā€™s wharf and the shops at pier 39. The staff are friendly and just all around wonderful. They have games for the family to enjoy, a complimentary bottle of wine, and sā€™mores at night for the kids. The room was nice;however, the bathroom could use some updates. Again though this is a nice hotel for the family and affordable.

Great location. Fun lobby. Great outdoor courtyard, including several fire pits and a unique form of ping pong in a tube ā€” very fun! Fun game area inside with pool tables, ping pong, a selection of board games, TVs, etc - plenty of kids clearly loving it. Room was basic but nice. Unexpectedly hard to sleep in the mornings with the sea lions on Fishermanā€™s Wharf constantly making a ruckus ā€” but thatā€™s just part of the location.

I often get asked how I find such deals. The secret's out: Źœį“į“›į“‡ŹŸį“…į“œŹŸŹŸŹ.į“„į“į“ This stay? A testament to their awesome comparison features. The experience here at the zephyr was one of a kind. The outdoor patio with all the games, the bar and food right in the back were everything. They served us stores by the many fire pits and a great atmosphere. We has a dart board in our room which was just too cool. Pier 39 is literally out front and there balconies with ocean views. I loved our room ans stay here. The staff was so friendly, helpful and cool. Our favorite guy was Chad and he made our time there. I would most certainly be happy to stay here again. šŸ˜Š What a great time we had. Stop in whenever in the City. Best place I've stayed in the bay area!!

Stylish, modern and funky decor. Ground floor has useful common areas and a nice outdoor terrace. Rooms were clean, spacious, lots of table tops and surfaces to put stuff on which is useful. Staff were friends and attentive.

The courtyard is so fun! The rooms are cozy. Great location. Staff is very friendly. Parking is pricey, but ya pay for a great location. I did request a balcony with a any view and didnā€™t get it, but itā€™s ok. We wonā€™t be spending much time in our room.

Loved our stay here! Great convenient location. A unique hotel with tons of charm. Fabulous for families with older kids - the games room was very well used. And the courtyard fire pits made for a communal experience. The lounges were very comfortable to unwind in. We would stay again for

We had a great experience. The hotel has plenty of games and lounging areas and free sā€™mores from 4-10 pm. Wish we stayed longer to enjoy all of the amenities! Very close to Pier 39. Highly recommend!

Location was fantastic canā€™t deny that but the rooms were pretty ordinary imho, felt dated, small and cheap. We didnā€™t have any issues here but Iā€™m not sure Iā€™d be in a hurry to go back plus we had a view of a car park which sucked. The Smores are a nice touch as are the outdoor fire pits which helped as it was freezing when we arrived.

Hotel Zephyr in Fishermanā€™s Wharf is ideally located near Pier 39, offering great access to local attractions. Though parking is costly, the rooms, while not spacious, are comfortable and clean. The hotelā€™s unique maritime design and amenities like the game room and outdoor seating add to its charm.

First stop in the USA. Amazing service to start with, being able to check in at 7am after a 15 hour flight from Australia. The hotel is in a good spot, and the room was nice, cool, and clean. Blinds did not work properly in our room, but with a bit of force we could close them. Parking is super expensive for 1 night. The good experience ended after we departed. The day we left to go to LA I noticed I had left an expensive international charging dock in the room, along with an expensive duffle coat hanging in the robe. I tried to contact the hotel direct, but after 3 failed attempts to get thought I contact via email. The next day was instructed to log it via a lost and found website. 4 days letter I receive and email to say the items were not in the room. The hotel staff have obviously lied here and stolen the goods. Thieves. Before this moment I would have highly recommended Aussie friends to stay there.. I will definitely not recommend this hotel now due to honesty and respect for its paying clients.

Great location, be aware there is no kitchen accommodations at all, fridge, microwave, none, not in your room, not in a lounge. Website says accommodations provided upon request, when I requested utensils for my food, I got pointed to the seven eleven around the corner. Anthony, the concierge is truly amazing customer service, heā€™s five stars all around and the reason there were any stars in this review. Edit, thanks Tony, great hoteliers like you, always see good ideas such as utensils for guests, since thereā€™s no fridges and microwaves, not even upon request. (Was told no for fridge, went to employee lounge for microwave). Anyway, it takes some logistics to do this instead of pointing guests to seven eleven, so Iā€™m happy to see you look into it Tony, great hoteliers like you are the reason business is thriving.

Location was great! Staff were friendly, the only thing I was not happy with was the parking fee, $58 per day sounded good until I found 24 hour garages next door that were $39 per day. If Iā€™m staying at the hotel cheaper parking would be nice. The game room and common area were awesome though. My kids loved hanging out in our down time and playing all the games and using the free sā€™mores coupon they gave us to sit by the fire! All in all a good experience and I would stay again when Iā€™m the area!

Great experience overall, staff were not phased with my kids climbing the boat wall, and everyone super helpful. Loved the decision to have pump soaps and lotion and this is the first hotel bathroom had one dim light, genius, we always leave our hotel bathroom lights on. Overall great design and layout. The sā€™mores was a sweet surprise. The resort fees, however, are an annoying surprise. Why not just leave it in the price of the hotel?!

Nelson at front desk was so great! He stored a cake I had delivered for my sonā€™s bday surprise, got us a great room and was super friendly. We had a great time and loved the eclectic feel. So close to all the things of you Al want to hit the touristy route.

I will start with why I didn't give them a 5-star rating. For a hotel this highly rated with a concierge and a bellman, I expect that there is a refrigerator in my room vs. the shell of what was and that the hot/cold would not be reversed in the shower. Quizzically, after a couple trips down the hallways with a carpet pattern that looked like it was moving and seeing the octopus graphics on the walls, I figured out that it was meant for you to feel like you were underwater. Beware, it could be a little dizzying. I did like that everywhere you looked there was a different "water" themed decor. The outside patio was furnished with several fire pits and a continued surprise of the larger than life sized games.

This hotel was so fantastic! Better than I could have believed. I got it primarily for the location, but the hotel itself was phenomenal. Great amenities cool common area, and close to bus routes and Pier 39 and Fisherman's wharf. It's a little pricey, but if you've got the money to drop I highly recommend it.

The service and comfort was excellent. Very close to pier 39 and all pier attractions rooms look modern and extremely clean. The game room is great, fun for all the family. Will definitely return amd and highly recommend.

Iā€™ve stayed at Zephyr once before and wanted to come back because of the positive experience. The zephyr is located right next to fishermanā€™s wharf, pier 39 and a Trader Joeā€™s, all walking distance. The concierge helped us with early check in so we could put our bags in the room before our tour to Alcatraz which was extremely nice of them. While self parking for the hotel is expensive ($60) a night, its well lit and safe. Upon checking In we received two packages for sā€™mores for the outdoor fire pits. This place very kid friendly. The industrial theme and life size games is one of the reasons I recommend this place. Inside they have plenty of great seating areas, board games, ping pong, shuffle board and pool. Outside they have ping pong, life size connect four and about three fire pits to sit at for large and small groups. The toasting marshmallows at night around the fire pit was a great way to end the evening. Now for the items that could use some work. The gym because of Covid is unfortunately closed. One of the downstairs main lobby restrooms was closed throughout our stay. They donā€™t serve breakfast but you can order room service which they have a decent size menu. Some of the entries from outside the hotel to the floors are broken and the key card doesnā€™t work. The concierge upon checking in said we were getting a room upgrade but it was fairly small. The paint was chipping on the bathroom doors, there were no trash bags in the trash cans and the air conditioner could have used a cleaning. We went to Trader Joeā€™s to buy some snacks and realized upon purchasing that the area which used to be a fridge had been taken out and replaced with a safe and empty space. Also the bathroom in general could have used some more cleaning. All in all We really enjoyed our stay here, you really canā€™t beat the location.

This is a 2nd attempt at writing a review for this hotel. Iā€™m very disappointed in both the hotel and Priceline. First of all the staff was incredible, the game room was amazing but after that it goes down hill unfortunately. I do not see the Hotel as a 4 star hotel, Iā€™ve traveled all over the world and do understand what makes up a 4 star rating. The staff that have been hired are 4 star without a doubt, the location is phenomenal butā€¦.. The room I was assigned was not clean, had water damage in the bathroom, no mini fridge yet I was charged a deposit for it. The room was very small and walls were paper thin to the extent we could hear our neighbors having ā€œfunā€ at 0300 hrs. The parking was more expensive than most, it was a real disappointment to find that a supposed 4 star hotel had no restaurant on site and no pool or hot tub. If not for the incredible staff, the visit would have been horrendous. Iā€™m deeply disappointed and wish that my hotel review could have been all praise but I have to be honest and everyone has a right to know what to ā€œpossiblyā€ expect.

Such unique and artful Hotel. Stayed here on a Staycation. And had a Blast. Place has a great game room and outdoor patio with fire pits and many games! They even give you complimentary smores for the fire pits! The place is super clean and organized. Plus the staff is super nice and helpful. We plan on coming back and getting a room with a courtyard or bay view and a balcony for sure!

  • 5/5 Erin W. 2 years ago on Google
The location is perfect. There is a Starbucks just around the corner. You can see the bay and Alcatraz from your balcony. There are several bus stops within a block of the hotel. Pier 39 is right across the street. The outside area is awesome. The game room is also cool. Lots of tables in the common area for all your needs, including working remotely. The internet was good. The staff is very friendly. The beds are comfy. I would for sure get the room with a balcony. Itā€™s cool to sit outside and just listen to the seagulls and smell the ocean. This area of San Francisco is the cleanest area that we went to, so I am very glad we stayed here. Even with several of the local shops and restaurants closed because of Covid, this is an awesome place to stay.
