I booked my room online the day of my stay. I came in an hour after booking and the process went very smoothly. I showed my confirmation number and they will hold $100 deposit (you will get it back after your stay. Just don’t break anything.) My family and I stayed in room 505 and the room was clean and tidy. Theres a tv but no microwave. I don’t mind, but just wanted to put it out there for y’all. Clothes iron is provided. The bathroom provided good amount of towels as well as soap and shampoo. I didn’t see any air conditioner but we don’t mind since it gets cold in the morning. Its not a fancy hotel so don’t expect that everything is perfect it may show its age, but it looks like they’re maintaining it well. Its a nice place to have a bed to sleep in or crash in for the night of your trip. We did receive two key cards but I believe only one worked at a time. So I went to the lobby and they switched it to the keycard I have and it was all okay. Their service always goes smooth every time I talked to the staff. They open the elevator doors for us whenever they can. We walked back to the hotel late at night and found the entrance blocked, but it was then opened by staff so don’t worry. They probably did that for security reasons since it was late at night. Theres an open public parking at the back. But theres also a gated parking right behind the building. Its not their parking but I believe you can park for $30 for the gated parking. I hope this helps.

The hotel wasn't terrible like other reviews claim it to be; the neighborhood did seem scary, but in reality, everyone was just going about their daily lives without much thought. The facilities are somewhat outdated, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. However, the rooms have poor soundproofing which basically means you could hear everything, didn't bother me that much since I sleep with earbuds, but if you are sensitive then you might look elsewhere. Remember that there is a $30 cost for overnight parking there, but since the lot is well-gated and supervised, it is actually worth the money. The front desk can occasionally be unresponsive or simply vanishes, but he is often helpful and pleasant.

Very charming, old SF style Hotel. Unique. I enjoyed my stay. Good size room and closet for storing luggage. Decent bathroom. Was cleaned everyday and happy with staff. Lots of restaurants nearby including Brenda's Soul Food next door!

Booked for two nights. Ended up checking out a day early and finding somewhere else. Yes, the hotel is in the most rundown and unsafe part of SF, but it is also just a bad hotel. Rooms are dirty - carpet is darkened and clearly hasn't been cleaned for a long time. Springbox on bed was stained and blankets were discolored as well. Hard to tell whether it's from the Tenderloin outside or the room itself but it smells strongly like garbage. No air conditioning, so you either sleep hot or open the window and let more smell and noise in. The Tenderloin is loud all hours of the night - police, ambulance, and fire trucks every few minutes - so it makes sleeping difficult. Shower lets out random bursts of boiling water when showering and toilet isn't completely bolted down so it jostles. Also, much of the infrastructure is old and thin, so you can loudly hear every person who climbs up the stairs or opens a door. Motel (or worse) quality for hotel prices.

Horrible experience. There was no fridge in our room, no microwave, and there was bottle of water (half empty) in our room. Floor was dirty, bed smells and bugs in the bathroom. We paid almost $200. Disappointed!

It's basically a step above a hostel. The rooms were decorated in a very cool art deco style. However, there was no A/C and our room got pretty hot, which is apparently unusual for San Fran. The location was great, I just wished the beds were better and there was at least a fan to circulate air provided.

The staff was very friendly & the parking was easily accessible from the hotel. I had peice of mind knowing my car was safe & didn't have to park on the street. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Check-in & check out was easy.

It was ok. The check in process was unusually long bc they aren’t linked up with the company I made the reservation through. I had to give him every detail in order to keep my booking. Overall not that impressed with the front desk

I checked out immediately minutes after I saw the place. I WAS SCARED!..I am not used to the environment surrounding the area. I moved to another hotel. I hope I will get my money back.

It was the only affordable hotel in town due to some business conference folks using all the hotels. The area didn't feel very safe. The walls were paper thin so you can hear everything, and the shower temperature would wildly change from cold to boiling hot without touching the dial. It almost burnt me. The beds weren't comfortable and the receptionist said that our reservation didn't register properly in the system so he had to rebook us and give me a new, higher price.

$140 including parking. Beds were clean and comfortable. Great coffee shop next door. Booked about a week prior to arrival. Came in a little after midnight after our flight. Entrance to hotel was dark and locked. I had to park in the bike lane. I knocked on the door and the clerk verified i had a reservation and let me in. Was there with my wife and two older children. I was a little scared honestly with the neighborhood. I checked in and drove around the block and he let me in the secured lot- just past enterprise. I have never seen a hotel elevator like that before. The elevator license was expired which didn’t help my alleviate my concern. We made it up to the 4th floor. Surfaces were clean but due to the age of the carpet and curtains it seemed dirty. Overall you get what you pay for. However, I’ll look for somewhere else to stay next time i’m in San francisco.

Bill was awesome! The rooms were what I expected them to be. But Bill (front desk person) was so helpful and provided the best customer service. My girlfriend and I had an issue with the parking attendant, Bill went down there himself to take care of it. One night we ordered take out but didn't receive any utensils, Bill came to our room with paper plates, napkins, and utensils.

I’m not sure what all the bad reviews are coming from, maybe they had a management change recently? I had a very easy and very pleasant stay here. It’s in the Tenderloin, read about that area before you book any hotel there if you’re unfamiliar. I had a passport appt across the street the next morning and this place was exactly what I needed. Came in late, called the front desk to get into the gated parking, parked and checked in seamlessly. Super friendly guy behind the counter. No surprise BS fees. Room was just fine. Everything was clean, it’s an old building, bathroom is funky in a cool way.

The room was too dirty, We found blood, hair on the blankets as well on the pillows and towels. The room stunk from the moment you entered , I don't recommend it at all.

We were pleasantly surprised. Great value. The staff was most helpful! I'd come back for sure.
