While the location is quite central, I must say beds are very comfortable and staff is friendly. But, there are some big negatives for me. 1. In the room I am staying the bathroom wallpaper and carpets are in need of change. Even as I checked in the bedside tables had dust. There was a weird smell outside the room. So, cleanliness for me was a big downer. I did complain to the guest desk but no response yet and I am a Hilton Honors member. 2. There is no room service, i am calling this out because different travel sites have different descriptions. 3. While catering to tourists there is no international adapter in the room. 4. The hotel service is not 24x7. So if you need some help at an odd hour you could be in a fix. 5. Last, not a big one but good to know that there is no spa on location. There are many hotels in the vicinity. If I were to book again, chances are I would not book this one.

Great hotel, nice rooms. It is big and yet the stuff make you feel so at home, they are super nice and go out of their way to help. Great facilities (valet parking, gym etc). Reason for the 4 stars is that the room could be cleaner and also the location is central but not very pleasant. There is a nice restaurant which serves breakfast and you can also buy the products separately and be seated to eat it.

I recently stayed here for a long weekend. As a former resident of SF, I knew exactly what area I was in but was still sadly shocked at the increased homeless/fentanyl population just several blocks down Ellis towards VanNess avenue. The amount of litter on that street was jaw dropping as well. It is easy enough to avoid but tread carefully if you head in that direction. This is definitely the tenderloin district. When I first arrived I asked if there were any rooms available on a higher floor as the one assigned was boxed in only overlooking rooftops and an alleyway. I was offered an upgrade for a higher rate. I accepted it. In the new room, the view was better but the windows were in need of a good cleaning unfortunately. The rooms are comfortable enough but outdated and slightly dusty in places. Still standard for what I am accustomed to. There is a lot of nearby convenience for food choices etc. It is also just steps away from the Bart station. Overall three stars.

Really nice place to stay. I brought my mom here to celebrate her retirement while staying I'm San Francisco. The front desk clerk Mavis was extremely pleasant and helpful. She surprised my mom with a fruit basket and a bottle of wine to celebrate her retirement. I do wish it had a pool but other than that it has been a delightful place to stay. Room is very clean and elevators are super fast and efficient.

Clean, spacious, comfortable. Keep it this way please! My favourite hotel this holiday and this year so far!!! The restaurant at the hotel was also great. Nice salads, tea. The bed is clean and comfortable, clean floor, bathroom. Just great it has not always been this case in some other hotels. The employees are doing their job web and the managers too! Thank you.

I love the room had a great view. The hotel staff super friendly and accommodating great listeners. The Walgreens nearby super awesome. Had everything I needed at the hotel. I didn't like the location very dangerous and the dark creepy halls. Update: I recently stayed in the skyline suite and the only thing good about the suite was the view and the balcony. The room itself was very outdated and dusty. I didn't feel comfortable in the suite I was not impressed and very disappointed. Next time I will just stick with the classic rooms those are much better.

I really like this place. Great location. Awesome customer service all around. The floor I’m on is a little outdated but still nice. My room is 2620. Beautiful view (see picture). I’d give it a 5 Star but the rooms, or at least on my floor, is a little run down but not horrible (mainly the carpet). Also, the pool and hot tub are at the Hilton across the street (we checked it out and it isn’t that nice.) We had dessert last night at the hotel restaurant. It was delicious. Breakfast was good too. We flew into SFO and took the yellow line (subway) to Powell Street. Got off and the hotel is right there. The hotel is in a great location for restaurants and retail stores. Loved the room #2620. Two full size beds. Larger room than others. Last, I have to say how nice it is to show up to a hotel and the front desk person is just really nice. After traveling, you’re tired and you just want your room and to be met by someone kind and caring. I’ve stayed at a lot of 5 star hotels and the staff here is one of my favorites. No attitude. Just kind people. Keep it up. I’ll be back.

Overall, a pretty nice stay. We had a nice corner room with a lovely view. The hotel is obviously an older building but kudos for their remodel, which feels new and elegant. The elevators and restaurant are very urban upscale. Points off for 1) the absurd valet fee of $80 a night. This feels like they know about item 2 upcoming and are gouging for safety. 2) Don’t stray far from the hotel. Walk two blocks in the wrong direction and the neighborhood seems super dangerous. 3) There’s an odd scent they pump into the lobby that I think is supposed to be flower-y but just comes off as Febreeze. I’m not sure we would stay here again just because there are better options. We chose this place because of the proximity to the Palace of Fine Arts theatre for a show we saw. Can’t heartily recommend this place but it’s certainly nice enough.

Rooms are clean and staff is friendly, the view from our room was fabulous. Cable 55 (on-site restaurant) has an excellent breakfast and the lunch/ dinner menu is amazing! Hotel is in walking distance of some really great shopping and very unique restaurants. *The hotel property itself backs up to the tenderloin district, which is plagued with homeless and all that comes with them, this might make visitors from smaller towns and rural places very uncomfortable, this isn't intended to be negative just something to be aware of.

We were pleased with receptionist Mavis. She made us feel relaxed and comfortable at the first moments of our registration. She helped us to find the best room. Hotel’s location is perfect for tourists like us and if you get a room above 10th floor you’ll have amazing views of the skyline. The sheets are made of polyester that makes you sweat all night and windows in our room at least weren’t cleaned but all the other attributes of the hotel made us disregard little problems like this. We definitely will come again! Thanks for all the friendly staff!

Great hotel in a nice, centralized location. Parking is a bit of a challenge as are the poop gift packages that are left on the sidewalk just outside the hotel, making it difficult to navigate through. However, that seems to be the norm anywhere in San Fran. Watch your step! The hotel itself was nice. The rooms were clean and the beds really comfortable! The trolley is a short walk outside, along with many shopping options. We walked to Chinatown from here and didn't seem to be too far. Everything else in San Fran is a quick Lyft ride away.

The best part of my stay was Sarah at the front desk. She is hands down one of the sweetest, friendliest people I have ever met. She alone made my stay spectacular. The rooms are fine, a little pricey for what you get. But the hotel staff makes it all the worth while to stay there over another place.

Had a wonderful stay for New Years! This hotel is very nice. We usually do the smaller boutique hotels in the city. Which we love. This was a very nice and modern change. What really stood out was the cleanliness of all parts of this hotel, from the lobby, restaurant and our rooms. But most of all the wonderful staff we encountered. They actually seem to enjoy being there to assist the guests. Parking is available, however we chose to use a parking app(SpotHero) where we found covered parking for $15 a day. A half mile from motel. We'd definitely stay here again.

A true 4 star experience; Our stay had little room for improvement, valet, front desk, even the gift shop attendant were all very eager to please. Our room had an amazing view of the downtown area. Housekeeping was friendly and very helpful. Everything was perfect Except the bar/restaurant (cable55) had very very very limited and honestly disappointing vegan food for dinner and absolutely nothing for the buffet breakfast or continental breakfast. Oh and they overcharged us on wine. Otherwise the experience was wonderful and I would return.

I nearly missed out on this fantastic room, but a quick check on ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ made all the difference. From check in to check out everyone we met was polite and helpful. We received texts asking about how they could better assist us during our stay. Water bottle stations in the main lobby were a life saver and the elevator system was efficient. We felt the rooms were needing a bit of an updating, but clean and well-kept. Central location for what were were doing during our visit and we were provided great dinner recommendations close by. Mobile check out was great, and the tablet in the room was convenient. Overall great stay for us!

Michelle, the one who checked us in was very fast and efficient even the line turned to be long, we didn't wait too long and everything was precise and have what we needed. We didn't have to ask any questions. The ambiance is very clean and inviting. We stayed there for 3 nights. We stayed there the previous year and we came back because it's clean and the security is on point. Which we really appreciate and keeps us safe. I just hope they change the elevators to be activated with a key card like their restrooms in the lobby. Other than that it will still be our first choice when we come back to San Francisco.

The rooms could use a remodel, but only because they are a bit dated. They are clean and still nice enough. The location is great as it’s central. My favorite part about this hotel is the views! It’s worth the extra cost to get a corner room so you can see the hills and downtown SF.

Sorry, but I have tried to be patient. We are staying in 2 suites and we are having significant service issues with the staff. The bar staff, some of the registration staff and some “room service” staff (room service is in quotes because there is NO Room service). Staff barely wants to be of service. We are trying to do business here and have to constantly go out of meetings to address basic (basic) stuff like getting paper plates, plastic silverware, coffee, water. I would absolutely NOT recommend this property until Hilton cleans up their act here.

For the price, I need a cleaner room. Turned the couch around to see the city view. Food, nail clippings and coins were underneath. Bathroom needs updating. 55 fitness is new, well equipped and clean. The staff was very nice and attentive.

Very nice amenities. Comfortable beds. Clean rooms. Good room service. No free breakfast is the only downfall. Nice restaurant in the lobby. Food is a bit expensive but worth the money.
