Rooms are pretty basic for a 5 star hotel. Room service has very limited menu, breakfast is coffee and a muffin. Unfortunately my room wasn't clean when I checked in, and they struggled to clean it even after 5 hours. Other than the location, there are much better places.

Nice centrally located hotel. The rooms were smaller but nice, and I appreciated the daily housekeeping. They kept the rooms very tidy. The staff here really brought the whole experience to the next level. The doormen were very friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to accommodate our needs (shout out to Edwin and the night shift doorman, sorry I forgot your name!)

In the first 24 hours of my stay, 5 different room keys malfunctioned. I have never staid in a hotel which made it this difficult to use the elevator or access my own room. The reactions of the staff make it clear that this is a persistent problem, and management seemed oddly unconcerned. My expectations for hotels are pretty basic; the Taj Compton Place managed to undershoot them in a frankly impressive manner.

I stayed here for 5 nights as a solo traveler for both work and leisure. Probably the best hotel Ive stayed at in the entire San Francisco and Bay area. Customer service was the best I've had at a hotel around San Francisco. They were incredibly polite very accommodating and make sure that both my check-in and check-out was handled very smoothly. The rooms and beds are very cozy and comfy and omitted any outside noise. The gym and workout area is on a nice balcony rooftop, definitely worth checking out! Was treated with chocolates at my door upon getting into my room, which was a very pleasant gesture. Great and safe location. This is the place I'll definitely always choose when I go back and visit San Francisco.

The staff here are AMAZING. They are beyond professional and courteous from the doormen to the receptionist to the housekeeping crew! The rooms are spacious and very clean! The location is absolutely perfect; not a lot of homeless people nearby and within walking distance of some great restaurants! I would 100% return!

Booked a stay here through Fine Hotels & Resorts collection. And we were very impressed with the nice touches and little things that this place does to make you feel welcome and in a high end place. Everything from the chocolates, to the Nespresso machine to even the soft close toilet seats. They make sure to think of everything. Also service was top notch.

Outstanding service. The hotel is is a great location near Union square and the rooms are large and comfortable. What impressed us most was the super friendly and super nice staff. They really take care of you. I had a sore throat and the gentleman during the breakfast prepared a complementary delicious ginger and lemon tea. It really helped. I really recommend and would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay on every level. The VERY personal service with every staff member we encountered was so appreciated. The food, drinks and service in the restaurant and the bistro was Outstanding. Housekeeping didn’t miss a detail. The front desk and doormen were very friendly, welcoming and so helpful. Our room was very comfortable and offered everything we needed. Really can’t say enough good. We had absolutely no issues and zero complaints. So very impressed and we’ll stay again on our next visit to SFO.

From the moment my husband, our two cherished dogs, and I entered the elegantly appointed lobby of Taj Campton, we knew our stay would be something beyond the ordinary. Enticed by an advantageous American Express promotion, we discovered a gem that delivered far more than the monetary value we sought—it delivered a promise of perpetual returns. The heart of this establishment beats with the rhythm of exceptional hospitality, personified by the front desk manager. His expert orchestration of our check-in was a prelude to the series of delightful encounters that awaited us. The hotel’s modern and contemporary design, with nuanced touches of Indian finesse, was a visual feast, equally matched by its central location. Perched in Union Square, it’s a mere stroll from the vivacity of Chinatown, the scenic Embarcadero, and the maritime charm of Fisherman’s Wharf. The gastronomic experience was a high note, with breakfasts that tantalized our palates. The salmon Benedict and the Indian-spiced omelette were masterpieces of flavor, each bite a testament to the culinary prowess of the kitchen. Our breakfast was accompanied by the view of a beautifully adorned Christmas tree, standing tall amidst the hotel’s festive décor. As the day waned, the hotel bar became our sanctuary. Here, David, the bartender, an artisan of spirits, crafted drinks that were personalized odes to our tastes. His repertoire extended well beyond the menu, limited only by our own imagination. David’s gracious demeanor and cocktail wizardry were not just services rendered but genuine acts of kindness. In every aspect, Taj Campton exceeded expectations. The warmth of the staff, the pristine and inviting ambiance, the exquisite meals, and the intimate encounters with people like David, have woven into the fabric of what will now be our San Francisco home away from home. The value we’ve found in Taj Campton is immeasurable, a rare find in today’s world of travel. For those seeking not just a place to stay but an experience to savor, Taj Campton is the unequivocal choice. It’s where the true spirit of San Francisco hospitality resides, awaiting to embrace you with open arms and a crafted cocktail, tailored just for you.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel . We were greeted by the most welcoming, friendly doormen John, Dan and Edwin ! Andy, Sergio and Juan always made sure that our meals were prepared to our satisfaction . Everyone, here is dedicated to making sure our stay was first class ! One night I was having trouble with our pot heating water for tea. I called Gursharn at the front desk and he went way above to make sure that I recieved everything for my tea ! After coming to San Francisco for 36 years. We finally found our favorite home away from home! Thanks to everyone for making our stay so warm and inviting ! We, hope to see everyone again soon !

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We came in December and everything was very festive. The rooms are lovely, the food is absolutely delicious. I used their gym every night we stayed here and it is the perfect travel gym that is enclosed on a balcony. I loved running on the treadmill and looking out to see union square.

Loved the place ! Great service. Wish would have known there is nothing mentioned about tips of 15% will be added at their restaurant. We enjoyed food / breakfast added 25% tips and on the total Taj added additional 15% tips. Great location though.

I loved staying at this hotel! The room was spacious- the coffee in the room was great, the service was exceptional and the location was convenient. We had a cute little view. What I liked that it isn’t a massive hotel. Just big enough to get great service and not have to wait for the hotel elevators too much. Definitely will return when we visit again.

Had a lovely room with en suite bathroom and tub. Loved the view. Very warm welcoming staff, quality room cleaning. Sadly no bar, no filled mini bar after 9 to wind down or have a glass of champagne in the tub. No breakfast at a table. Convenient and not overpriced parking in the area. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore much of SF simply hiking: Loved it!!

I been here few times. One of the nice hotels in SF. The room is small side, but clean and view of Union Square. Good breakfast and excellent services overall. Each time back to SF I will stay in this hotel.

Very nice boutique hotel off of Union Square. The very best customer service we have experienced... From the bell captain, bellmen, valet, front desk and room service - all went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and enhance our stay. Highly highly recommend the Taj Campton.

So highly impressed by this Hotel!!! From the second we walked in to the second we got into our Uber we had nothing but top notch service that went above and beyond. I would especially like to shout out Dan. Dan was that delightful face that makes you feel like Julia Roberts at the end of the movie, Pretty Woman. It’s rare to meet someone like him these days and he made our day a little better when we saw him. The rooms were clean and inviting. The entire staff was professional and delightful. Highly recommend!
