It started with racial profiling: the clerk wouldn't open the door so I could check. Others in the lobby tried to open the door but he told them not to do it. Then there was the broken elevator and vending machines. Once in you're basically trapped inside the property. Theie policy is to text a # and someone will open the garage door to let you out. I went down for a smoke, didn't have my phone with me so I buzzed the front desk. Who never opened the door. To top things off, I called almost a week later and asked Edwin how long do they hold security deposits he said the day you check out it's released. We checked out on Monday. I gave him my info. Edwin placed me on hold, moments later he says he just released my security deposit TODAY and it should reflect on my card by Monday. I asked, 'so it was still on hold"? He replied, "Yes.".

I had a fraudulent unauthorized charge on my credit card a few days after staying at this place. The charge was from an unauthorized online purchase. This is only possible if someone had access to both my credit card and driver's license... guess which type of business has access to both of these documents?

So, stayed four nights. Our room was renovated. Looked good. But the walls are very thin. You hear everything. The toilets, like the other visitors wrote, jam very fast. Service staff very friendly and seems to work fine. Reception in the evening and afternoon could be more friendly. They offer a breakfast, but i wouldn't call that breakfast. See picture. The area seems not very good, a lot of homeless and suspicious people on the street. But had no problems. Streets all around smell like piss.

The location was not bad. However, the service could have been improved. I booked their hotel online, but was having a card/transaction issues. When I arrived there after a very long flight, and suggested paying them with cash instead, as I was having issues, they just bluntly told me they didn't accept cash and they couldn't admit me as a guest. I understand that the business is going digital and they have their own policies. But in hospitality industry, especially dealing with International travelers, businesses should have empathy towards their customers and try to find a reasonable solution, especially when it is late hours and people are willing to pay.

I was told I could check out early and was still charged for the night unused. They kept us booked when we were already home 300 miles away. The rooms are dirty and stink. They lied about checking us out. They did not refund the $125 deposit and charged me for the night not used. Staff never called the manager like I had asked and told me he was the only one to talk to. They kept telling me that the manager had stepped out. They said they had refrigerators when I called ahead and there were none. The room smelled like someone had smoked in it prior to us. The phone to the front desk did not work. They were working on remodeling the hotel which began at around 6:30 am and way too early for a vacation. I fell because there were no signs for slippery floors. Front desk had removed it and forgot to put it back. It was placed there after I fell. The elevator did not work. The cleaning crew were the only ones that helped us out if we had questions.

This hotel was fine when we initially arrived, however once I realized that it had bad reviews after heading to our room I felt a bit concerned. Listen to the reviews that are negative, because the reviewers are trying to protect you financially. The workers will attempt or even succeed at stealing your credit card information and make charges on your accounts once you leave. I found a similar review before this incident happened with my girlfriend’s card and we hoped for the best that it wouldn’t happen—well, it happened. Luckily we put locks on accounts once the purchase for our stay was locked in to ensure suspicious activity didn’t occur and go through. Aside from the financial theft, you’re very limited on toilet paper and I found it to be a bit strange as I had to go downstairs and ask at the front desk; to which I was questioned on if we had a small amount on a singular roll in the room or just had a full roll and wanted more. Most hotels don’t have this issue and supply you with 2-3 minimum. This shouldn’t be something you’re questioned about. Weird display of customer service overall on multiple occasions. For our room the only thing (apart from the worn out doors that were difficult to open) that we found that was negative were strands of hair on the shower walls from customers who had previously visited. If you’re planning to stay here, lock your credit/debit cards after front desk check in/out and plan to get a new card entirely, because this is, at best a quick stay with only sleep being a benefit.

The only thing good about the location is that it is close to the theatre district. We waited a long time to be checked in and I should have read further because in a, "suite" we thought at least we'd have a coffee pot. Nope -- but we had coffee and stirrers, etc. We didn't have a fridge either and the ice machine wasn't working. When I asked how I should keep drinks cold, I was directed to go down the street filled with unhoused humans to purchase some ice at a bodega. The phone didn't work, the remote control wasn't programmed, and the room was hot as hell when we came in. They also had an EXTENSIVE list of how much your credit card would be charged if you took anything, including the peephole and showerhead. Also on the list -- the $5 coffee in the room without a coffee pot and the useless ice bucket too. No promise for you to have a parking space when you get back from outings either. We won't go back.

The hotel or hotel staff stole my identity and used my credit card on file to make fraudulent purchases, I have also filed a Police Report with San Francisco PD - This hotel needs to look more closely at there front desk staff that handled my credit card and my ID simultaneously.

This was by far one of our worst experiences. Check in was slow and redundant and the person was mildly rude. I asked to use the restroom bc we traveled a distance and was refused. He made me run up two flights of stairs to go to my room. We went into our room and it was disgusting. There was blood on our bathroom walls. Dirt in our sink. All the light switches were filthy and the bathtub was terrible. I told them about it immediately and they said they would move us up. We were stuck bc we needed to go to an event. When we returned we had been moved and the bathtub had stuff in it and was still dirty. The floor in front of the sink had dry rot and the only thing supporting it was the carpet. So disappointed that we paid full price for this hotel. If we had had other options last minute we would have strongly suggested we get our money back. We checked for bed bugs but thankfully we didn’t see any. We didn’t even use the water because it felt like that would be a bad idea. The bed wasn’t terribly uncomfortable but it was a bit hard for my wife. This hotel could have been cute and good but alas the filth was so disappointing. Theo policy is just bizarre but it’s their process. Essentially if you leave the property you won’t be guaranteed that you have your parking spot still. You have to text to check out and have no support from 7am to 3pm. How are we supposed to feel like they truly Covid cleaned when they couldn’t basic clean??? The only reason this isn’t getting 1 stars is because they switched us rooms without question. This has nothing to do with the hotel but the noise level was so insane! Guests at the hotel were rowdy and I understand everyone wants to party but man sleeping would have been nice.

Let me start by saying, I had low expectations. I didn’t pay for the Ritz Carlton. I wanted a basic clean hotel. I stayed 4 days. Pro: Room is decent. Location. Free Parking. Cons: Everything else. The room was not properly cleaned. They did housekeeping 1 time in 4 days. The woman at the front desk does not understand customer service. You can’t easily enter and exit when the garage door is closed and much more.

Don’t pay attention to the bad reviews. I was very concerned about extra charges and stealing my card info after reading them. I even asked about the reviews when I arrived. The people who work here are very kind, extremely hard working and simply are not doing any of this. Great price for a basic clean room in SF that is walking distance from all the things to do in the city and free parking. Hotel has many cameras and active management to help protect you and your stuff. Neighborhood was fine imo… it’s SF and yes there are homeless etc. there but I didn’t feel like it’s bad right where the hotel is. I liked it there. I enjoyed my stay and really appreciated the management. If you can get a good deal then don’t hesitate to book this place. It’s not luxury but it has everything you need for a pleasant stay and restful sleep.

Stayed there a couple nights. It's a budget hotel, so don't expect the Ritz, but the room was good sized, A/C worked well, bed was comfortable, no noticeable street noise (but some neighbors at the hotel were a little noisy), water pressure pretty good, towels cheap but absorbent. Rooms are on the 2nd and third floors, lobby and secure parking are on the first floor. Elevator wasn't working when I was there, and may have been out of order for a while. So you may need to lug your luggage up the stairs. If you pack a lot, maybe ask for a room on the lower floor. Regarding the prior reports of stolen credit card numbers and withheld security deposits: I did not experience this. I had prepaid my stay via agoda booking, then gave the fellow in the lobby a credit card (one that I rarely use) for the deposit charge. It appeared as pending on my credit card website. Two days after my stay, the pending charge was disappeared, so no problem. It's been more than a month since and there have been no false charges. On a prior trip, I had stayed at the place right across the street and I feel that City Center was a bit better and less expensive. The location is a few blocks south of the Tenderloin (BART City Center is the nearest stop), and there was none of the objectionable street activity that is rampant there. I plan to stay here again.

City centre location, however, the surrounding roads to the city centre are littered with homeless (many on drugs). We used Uber's at night to get back for our own safety. There is limited secure car parking where you don't want to park anywhere else as they will get broken into.

The place was somehow fine for that price as it was around 10 minutes to aunion Square. Of course the people who are in ctc with drugs are all around the neighborhood. If you are someone who is not used or familiar to this i wouldn't recommend as you easily may feel uncomfortable.
