Unsure of the experiences in the low reviews but I whole heartedly believe this place doesn’t deserve the low average rating. Easy check in. Well priced, clean, within short walking distance of the beach. Walking distance of stores and restaurants. If you’re looking for a safe, convenient, clean, and reliable place to stay in the area. An area next to the beach and on the train line to downtown SF, this is your place. Stay here every time we are on the area. :)

The old man in front was very rude. We were turned away because of the no pet policy and we were more than willing to pay for an extra person and stay without our pet. We had to leave to discuss our options and when we came bac, he cancelled our reservation and brushed us away like trash and wasn’t willing to even compromise, ended up taking our business at the Hyatt for FAR CHEAPER , STAY AWAY FROM HERE.

Only one plug works and the light switch is behind the tv, and you can hear cable cars thru the night. Also fyi, housekeeping will come thru on schedule, even if you're there for a whole week and their schedule is during your stay

I haven’t been back to San Francisco since we scattered my mom’s ashes out by Treasure Island. And today , we are doing the same for my Uncle Sydney 😢, my Drive to this Motel was 12 hrs, however, The manager was able to accommodate my family at the last minute, Clean spacious room , we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Also , got to show my son where his late grandfather went Perch fishing on Ocean Beach , my Ulloa Elementary School, the playground nearby 💗 Treasured memories, thank you Beach Motel for making it a pleasant experience !!

Nicely remodeled bathroom in my room. The cable cars run on the street in front of the motel so I suggest ear plugs, but other than that it’s a great value. I’ll definitely be back.

This place is old, run down, but, served its purpose. I definitely would recommend wearing socks and shoes to walk on the carpet. The fixtures in the bathroom are rusty, the shower head could use a good cleaning to get rid of the calcium on it. The parking lot is small, but, at least it gets the car off the street. The muni is rather loud, but stops running, so, it didn't really effect my sleep. At check in the guy wasn't super friendly and it smelled like curry in both the lobby area and the room. The bar downstairs was great!

At first, we were turned away cause our dog wasn't allowed, so after hiding our puppy... and finding someone they wouldn't recognize as being connected to said puppy, we got our room... It was amazing... HUGE... the hallway leading the corner room over the bar is like 15ft long, the room was clean, it was a double queen and we didn't need both, but it served to hold my girlfriends clothes. An awesome adventure of an experience. Service could've been better, nowhere does it mention a no pet policy, but the room was fantastic.

No elevator have to walk up stairs. Very clean room. One of the cleanest I've been in. Easy walk to the beach. Couple of coffee shops near by. Loved my stay here.

My partner and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Beach Motel. It’s a short walk from Ocean Beach as well as a short walk from the Muni Line “N”. The motel was incredibly easy and quick to check into and a great value, too! I highly recommend this motel for anyone wanting to stay by the beach in San Francisco and not break the bank. The bathroom inside our room had a skylight which I found to be a very neat feature. It kept the bathroom bright as can be all day and really offers a great lighting for selfies. The bathroom was not only light up well, but spacious and incredibly clean as well. The bed was extremely comfortable and pillows, too. I really liked the vibe here.

Seems negative reviews are mostly people who violated policy and couldn't accept the consequences. Everyone at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The room was great, you can tell they take a lot of care to make your stay pleasant. Thoughtful touches and a gardener for the outdoor plants. It is hot without a/c but easily solved by opening the window. Who stays inside a motel room in the hottest parts of the day when they're right by the beach? Bring earplugs in case you get a room by the bar, but I slept great every night. Highly recommend, will definitely stay again if needing a place in the area. The park is right there, the shops are awesome and the neighborhood is sweet. 11/10.

They take cash but will charge you as much as they can get away with. If it says rooms are $75 per night online then in person there's only a room left so it's $150. No guests no dogs no exceptions. Not a very people pleasing type establishment. More of a take it or leave it kind of situation.

Can't complain here, read the reviews and expected worse. No bedbugs and no cockroaches so that's a plus. This place is two blocks from the beach, two blocks from Golden Gate Park, coffee shops in every direction. The wifi password is shown on the TV, a bit surprised there's carpet and not tile (Room 16). Very quiet for my experience

Decent room....I guess....I mean honestly without wanting to be judged a racist I did smell curry.....had to open a window to clear out the odor..... with that being said the location is great..... literally a block maybe two from ocean Beach but be forewarned the N train runs through on Judah and sounds like a earthquake happening at times Outside of that it's good value for what you get .....a small fridge and microwave, no air conditioner just crack a window and okay parking with no extra fee for parking Also guys go to Sea breeze Cafe and tell Angelas the waitress and I think owner that Tony sent you....her and her restaurant are charming.... great ambience and great breakfast.... haven't tried the lunch menu yet but soon.... plus it's nearby the motel

Parking is great! Beds are comfy, rooms are clean, and management is very responsive. Cool coffee shop on the corner...neighborhood has cool vibes. I felt safe with beach access so close. Will be returning.

This was an awesome little motel. It's very close to the N line which is super easy to ride up to restaurants and quite a few destinations, and it's in very easy and short walking distance to the beach and short walking distance to Golden Gate park as well. It was clean, no bed bugs, the windows opened for fresh air. We were on the opposite end of the bar, so weren't right over the music, but the music ended at midnight and while you could still hear people on the street it wasn't too bad. The train does run all night, but I'm a medium light sleeper and it didn't bother me in the least - even with the windows open. For the cost in San Francisco, at this awesome location, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Good, simple motel on a very convenient location near the beach and the Golden Gate Park, with a great choice of restaurants nearby, 3 of them vegan. Easy parking and adequate rooms with basic amenities and very nice comforters. Only downside is the streetcar at the door, running constantly, if you are sensitive to noise. Other than that highly recommended for this price point! Just make sure to secure your coffee in advance.

I just needed to get away from my place overnight and sleep in a bed in a different room. Although it was advertised at $58 I wound up paying $100. Suffice to say I got my night's sleep and then some. The refrigerator doesn't really work but the room just come in the microwave and there are a couple of restaurants nearby. One thing though... Although I grew up in San Francisco I never remembered the locals out in that part of town being as weird as they are... And the homeless population is a different breed of homeless than the ones you find downtown.. honestly it's kind of spooky out there at the end of the line right there on top of the Pacific Ocean. Isolation can be a good thing on the other hand it can be rather intimidating. The bar downstairs was incredibly weird, like I walked in on some, I don't know, neo clan meeting or something. $5 for a 12 oz can of Tecate?

I needed to stay overnight for a medical procedure the following day. The motel room we were placed in was directly over a bar, which meant there was loud music coming into our room until it closed at midnight. No mention of this at check-in, and when we asked to change rooms the person at the desk was incredibly rude about it and didn't allow us to even though as far as I could tell there were many available rooms, we were one of three cars in the lot the entire time. The street noise coming from the single-pane windows was unbelievable, I could hear entire conversations being had outside and we were on the second floor. The carpets were old and filthy and the room smelled bad. The price wasn't terrible, I guess, and it is walking distance to the beach, but given the state of the rooms, intense booming music coming from below until midnight, and the hostile demeanor of the person working the desk, I would never book here again.

Loud. Got this room literally to rest . Bar goes all night trains are loud . No AC. No sleep. At least in the rooms RIGHT next to the bar.

Room smelled like urine and mold. The carpeting was bubbling off the ground. The bathroom was very moldy. There was also a loud bar just below the room which could have been tolerated if the room was at all clean. We booked for four nights and left immediately after experiencing the smell of the room. We were not able to get the money back for the first night even though we only spent five minutes in the room.

Clean and fairly spacious room, was a great location for Outside Lands as it is walking distance from golden gate park!
