I would not hesitate to recommend the Inn SF. The hotel is a lovely old mansion house, decorated in a beautifully old-fashioned boutique style. There is a wonderful roof terrace with great views across the city, and an absolute oasis of serenity in the rear garden. I didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub but it looked wonderful. I booked one of the smaller rooms which was absolutely ideal and spotlessly clean; there is a great guide to each room on the website so you can find one to suit you. But what really sets this hotel apart from anywhere else is the staff. Marty states on his website that he wants every guest to feel like a friend, and he certainly achieved that. He clearly loves running the hotel, sharing its history and his stories with his guests with humour. His passion for the hotel and his guests shines through and is what makes a stay here really special.

The Staff was very polite and knowledgeable about the area and getting around THE CITY. My husband and I were celebrating his birthday. The room had balloons and champagne like I requested. We would definitely stay again. Clean, good complimentary breakfast and more. KUDOS TO YOU ALL for making our stay enjoyable.

I spent 2 wonderful nights at this Inn — wish I had stayed longer! The location is excellent - walking distance to all the great restaurants on Mission. And there are a ton of bus routes which connect to the trolleys and light rail routes. The staff here was all AMAZING. Without asking they upgraded me to a larger room, which was beautiful and perfectly appointed. The building itself is stunning and so well maintained. The views from the rooftop window’s walk are INCREDIBLE. And the backyard garden and hot tub are also excellent. I highly recommend staying here!

Perfect place to stay in the Mission. The staff and service at this hotel is really above and beyond — I wanted to go to Dolores park and hang for the day and they lent me a blanket to have a picnic with. They also let you hang in the gallery with tea, coffee, fruits, and sherry. It’s the little things! Very charming Victorian house, I would stay here again next time I visit. It was close to all the good restaurants too. Highly recommend this place.

In December, I was just moving to San Francisco and stayed with the Inn San Francisco as I was transitioning into my new apartment. The hostess, Evelyn, was more than accommodating and the premises were so charming and lovely that I want to go back and stay for a weekend even though I live in the area now. I loved the old fashioned, opulent style of the rooms and common spaces. Highly recommend.

Quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay in a fantastic neighborhood. Room rates are very reasonable given it's San Francisco. The accommodation is a charming contrast to a generic, sterile hotel, the home obviously has history--I even hoped to run into ghosts, LOL! The hot tub (and I'm not usually a hot tub person) was clean, quiet and just what I needed! The garden is beautiful, it's obvious the owner really cares about his home. Be sure to take a beverage and enjoy the rooftop! Staff is warm and hospitable. Breakfast was right on time, generous, coffee good. The bed was surprisingly comfy and cozy. I will definitely stay here again.

It's a beautiful Victorian home. All the staff, including the owner, treat you like you are family. They make you feel very welcome and are very helpful. The building itself has an amazing history. The living areas on the main floor serve as the location of the complimentary breakfast buffet loaded with beautiful antiques everywhere. This was one of the nicest breakfast buffets I've ever experienced. Hot coffee, teas, hot chocolate and hot apple cider, many protein choices if you are Keto, including hard boiled eggs, spinach quiches, rolled ham and salami and cheeses, cold cereal, choices of pastries and bagels and toast with butter and jam, milk and OJ, and an amazing selection of cut up fresh fruit, almost every fruit you can imagine. Breakfast is served in glass bowls and real silverware and is just laid out very elegantly. Lobby also has an incredible collection of photography books of the city of San Francisco dating back to before the earthquake. There is also a very nice quiet garden area in the back with tables and chairs to sit and have breakfast as well. There is a wonderful hot tub in the garden that is kept nice and hot and full and clean. No lukewarm tubs here. Rooms have high ceilings and are decorated in beautiful antiques. They have a nice size refrigerator, claw foot tub and shower. Robes and lanterns provided for the hot tub. Cotton quilts with a layering of cotton sheets and a thin blanket for bedspreads. Beds and pillows are very comfortable, better than 99% of all hotel beds, they are soft and yet firm. Mattress seemed new with no divots in it. And of course, you can't beat the weather in San Francisco. Cool nights where sleeping with the windows open, which you can do, is a dream. Lastly, you can go to the roof where there is 360 degree breathtaking views of the city. There are tables and chairs up there to have some wine and snacks. This is a gem of a find and the owner Marty is an absolute joy to talk to and can also be a great trip advisor.

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city and very close to downtown SF and the good restaurants and bars on Mission street . The staff was wonderful. Marty, the owner, is such a great host and storyteller 😂This victorian style hotel is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The breakfast was exceptional! I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset from the rooftop. I can’t wait for my next stay at this hotel😁

Absolutely lovely place to visit. I must start by saying the owner Marty, was so so sweet and hilarious . Gave us a tour and made us laugh so hard. Thank you very much for that you made it very memorable. Very clean rooms, and a totally gorgeous space. The breakfast as shown in my photos was so thought out and had a little off everything for everyone including GF. This building is 3 stories and has access to the roof. The roof had such a beautiful view you won’t want to miss it. If you want parking bring a compact car or you won’t fit. 5 reserved spots of parking if you pay the $30 to secure it. Very small garage. 24 hours coffee, hot tub and access which was nice. We stayed in room 36 (forgot to get a picture) even though it was a small room it was just enough for what we needed. While it is pricey I absolutely would visit again, it just was such a lovely experience.

Absolutely amazing place. The room was quaint and fit the Victorian era of the inn. The common areas were beautiful and the view from the rooftop deck was incredible. The breakfast was wonderful with an amazing selection which we took out to the beautiful garden behind the building. We can't wait to go back and continue our exploration of San Francisco. Additionally, Marty and his staff were spectacular

We stayed 4 nights here at the start of our road trip. The hotel has a great view from the roof terrace and a lovely garden. We loved the hot tub. The staff and friendly and helpful and the layout allows chatting to other guests if you wish to. Breakfast is good and you can eat in the garden. Lots of good restaurants very nearby. The Mission district is interesting and seems to have better weather than the rest of San Francisco. It’s very easy to take an Uber to wherever you want to visit.

Beautiful Victorian house converted into a hotel. Good price. Some of the rooms are really nice, I chose the cheapest and it was small but comfortable. The common room is lovely and a great place to hang out and work. Amazing ambience and beautiful decor. Great free breakfast. Owner (marty) hangs around and is fun to catch up with.

Charming hotel in an 1880s Victorian mansion. Everything from the decor to the classical music playing in the common areas makes it feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The whole place has a very cozy feel, and it didn’t take long to feel right at home. The breakfast was great and coffee and tea where available all the time which was lovely. I had a fantastic time staying here and would 100% recommend it to anyone else in a heartbeat! Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in San Francisco!

My first time to visit San Francisco and I am very pleased with the accommodation and service they gave us. The owner itself was overwhelmingly hospitable during our stay offered us to go on top roof to see the whole San Francisco. It was an amazing experienced. I thank you so much to Marty🤗

We loved our stay at the Inn! I stayed here 10 years ago and it was such a special experience, that I chose to bring my husband here on our way home from Australia recently. It still has that wonderful charm that I remember, the same service and no demise in the quality it offers to guests. They give that extra care and touch, which makes travel much more memorable and magical. Marty the owner is a wonderful host and will make you feel right at home. I really didn't want to leave the Inn. It reminds me of the magic travel offered in the good old days, where your spirit is ignited. The Inn is warm, charming, creative and peaceful. A special place to stay. Try the hot tub, see the view from the roof, and hang out in the common areas.

This house is absolutely stunning. The way that they decorate really keeps with the vintage feel. I also love the breakfast, the food is wonderful and available until 11:30! The dining area is so lovely and gives that bed and breakfast feel in a big city. The coffee is always flowing both day and night and it tastes amazing. Definitely check out the rooftop area if you get a chance, the sunset view is amazing. I can't wait to go back!

What a cute little hotel in a very cool part of town. The service from Marty and his team was excellent. Marty is a lovely guy and a great host. The hotel has cute furniture and a nice garden and rooftop area. I was so jet lagged and really enjoyed just hanging out in the hotel and resting. It’s walking distance from the BART train and it’s easy to take trams or buses to many parts of town from here. 5 stars!

Our stay at Inn San Francisco was the best hotel experience of our lives. Not exaggerating. We don’t know what people expect from a five star hotel, but for us, this more modest hotel was infinitely better than some soulless shiny tower. Marty greeted us on arrival and exceptionally kind, fun to talk to, and more than accommodating. He took the time to show us around and make us feel genuinely welcomed and completely comfortable. We returned a week later for a second stay before our long haul flight, and met Liza. She was also extraordinarily kind and welcoming. The quality of service was outstanding throughout. The property was amazing. The breakfast and atmosphere created was second to none. This was exactly the San Francisco experience we dreamed of of. The area is fabulous, with incredible restaurants and street art San Francisco-ness to explore all around. We would come back to San Francisco all the way from New Zealand again just to stay at the Inn! This place has personality, and it was a great match for us. Thank you to our wonderful hosts.

This place is perfect if you are on a work visit and want to walk to your office in Mission. The Inn serves a good spread for breakfast, has a Victorian style through and through. They also have a great terrace to enjoy the sunset. Id stay here again

Such a historic charming place, and simply beautiful. Well maintained mansion, with a cosy garden and a huge living room. I enjoyed every moment while I am staying there, and l loved the details in every corner. It really tells you how much the owner loves his space and how he cares about the whole experience. I was able to do some working in the common area, quiet and relaxing. Good internet speed and wifi coverage. The redwood hot tub is a super nice place to relax in the evening. The breakfast was very tasty and the best part is the great neighborhood, away from the touristy part of San Francisco. I was able to get the real experience as if I am living in the city. But what really sets this place apart, is the people and the owner friendliness! Thank you Marty.

In one word: charming! Charming staff. Charming 150 year old SF building. Charming rooms. Charming neighborhood. If you're visiting SF and want an experience that feels timeless yet comfortable, please stay here. The service is better than a hotel. The host (Marty) and staff are incredible. We received a heartfelt tour and were settled in immediately. The rooms are quaint and cozy but it's the common rooms here that are stunning. You'll want to leave your phone upstairs and spend an hour or two lounging downstairs with a book. Then if you want fresh air, pop into the lush garden or up a few flights to rooftop and take in the views. The breakfast is superb and generous, and if you're driving in like we were, they have a garage space with a handful of parking spots for a totally reasonable nightly fee. A very short walk from the Inn will find you at Valencia street which has it all, from pizza to Burmese. TLDR: this place blew me away and we can't wait for an excuse to drive back up the 5 and stay here again.

we stayed at the inn while on a visit to see our son and daughter in law. we didn’t need a car because the inn is close to public transit and is also within walking distance of many restaurants and stores. marty was the best host, and he took care of all our needs. breakfast each morning was terrific and the view from the rooftop deck was beautiful morning and night.

Very clean, old timey feel, great breakfast included. Staff was so nice and accommodating. Felt like we were visiting the royals 😉 Rooftop 360 views, beautiful garden, very convenient to the train to airport. Will stay again!

My partner and I have stayed at the Inn San Francisco on two separate occasions: once in November 2022 and once in January 2023. The hotel offers the amazing experience of stepping back in time to San Francisco in the 19th century. The attention to details is truly amazing. Our first visit was delightful although somewhat challenging because of problems with a hot water heater that was being installed (no hot water in our room). The staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. The room was charming and spacious. We were amazed at the attention to every aspects of the exquisite and tasteful decor. Also it is one of the cleanest hotels we've ever been in, which is no small feat given the number of objects, chandlers, carved wooden details, etc. - not a bit of dust anywhere! Then there's the breakfast spread - varied and delicious. Marty, the Inn keeper, regretted the hot water problems and graciously gifted us with a complimentary night at our convenience. He is the kind of person one wants as a long time friend - he is charming, a great story teller, soaked in the history of the hotel and the area, and devoted to this wonderful Inn. We returned in January and were treated with generosity and graciousness beyond our expectations. Evelyn and Lee helped with luggage, let us choose our room and basically took exceptional care of us from the moment we arrived. We can't recommend Inn San Francisco highly enough. It's an exquisite place with an exceptional staff.

Amazing place!! We had the chance to meet the owner, Marty, who’s fabulous and who explained us the history of this gorgeous Victorian house. The breakfast is fantastic and the location great (lot of nice restaurants in this part of Mission - especially Limon Rotisserie)

Awesome overnighter in Blue Room ( my designation, not theirs) #41. Comfortable bed. Beautifully decorated with Asian artifacts. Functional and Fun jacuzzi. Do make it up the spiral staircase to the roof for the SF panoramic picture. Awesome buffet breakfast.

Super charming place near Valencia Street. 24 hour hot tub and roof deck (great view) were incredible. Breakfast was excellent. Not for everyone but if it's the type of stay you're looking for it's an absolute steal!

Staying at The Inn of San Francisco was an absolute delight all around. Checking in was a breeze with the helpful on-site staff and words cannot describe some of the beautiful details in the inn. They have preserved so much of the original building and it still shines just like it would have 50 years ago. It was extremely clean both throughout the house and in the rooms themselves. Speaking of, my room was in excellent order when I arrived and the atmosphere was perfectly set. The sheets were crisp and my in room shower was excellent (though the water pressure might have left a bit to be desired). I had an excellent breakfast at the inn and was in and out throughout my time here. Overall you couldn't ask for better accommodations in the heart of one of San Francisco's best districts, the Mission.

AMAZING!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Breakfast is so good, hot tub and backyard is gorgeous. I just love the ambience and decor so much. The roof w the view!! I’m really grateful they’ve preserved the history and spirit of SF in this hotel, fun and interesting. Really so rare and unique, you gotta stay here! And it’s the same price as some hideous Ramada type spot. The owner, Marty is also such a sweetheart, you can tell this is his baby. Makes me sad there aren’t more places like this left! A rare gem.

Pleasant surprise, we really enjoyed our stay and felt like it was great value. Definitely take the chance to have breakfast on the rooftop during your stay! It’s some of the best views of the city, 360!

Great service. Super cool little destination. We stayed in room 20, the Fainting Room. Gotta check out the roof top and the hot tub. Very private top notch service

Beautiful Victorian home with incredible service! We took full advantage of the rooftop views and hot tub and greatly enjoyed the breakfast in bed. Can't wait to come back again soon!

This was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast and the experience was absolutely amazing! The staff was so friendly and made sure everything was great during my entire stay. They didn't have the buffet breakfast because of covid but instead they brought breakfast on a tray directly to my room every morning. A lot of the reviews mention the rooms were too small but I would disagree. I was in one of the smaller rooms and it was perfect for me. It might be a little tight for two people but theres so many common spaces in the hotel that I think it would be okay. The water pressure was great and I had no issues with temp. The location was also fantastic! I was visiting the city alone and it felt very safe walking everywhere I needed to go. Theres a liquor store/snack store right at the end of the block and so many great restaurants close by as well. I will def be staying here again.
