Welcome to the land of drug addicts… it feels unsafe to walk out, people shouting “I’ll f… you like an animal” wtf… Sorry but even in difficult time (post Covid whatever excuse) hotel must have someone outside most of the time if not 24/7. At least a valet for the parking or a doorman to help out (not just expecting guests to leave there cars unattended outside, having to unload luggages theirselves). There is literally no one around appart from the 2 woman at the front desk. No breakfast but an empty water kettle and some uneatable muffins sitting on the main entrance unattended bar. Look at that room view, earlier a woman even peed right there in the middle of the street. Thank god we just stayed a night there. I feel sorry for the manager Itzuri which was very kind and wanted to help, but told us that the general ventilation is not working such that you don’t have steam extraction in the bathroom (so it feels humid and smells like rot in the room). Wanna be hip with pool table and flippers, that’s pretty much all you’ll get… unreal for a hotel referenced and priced as a 4* …

I stayed at Hotel Zetta in July 2023. I booked my room with Chase points. When I came home from my stay I realized my credit card was also charged. Essentially, I double paid (both points and $) for the room. Many phone calls, messages and emails later I still have not been reimbursed. The customer service and follow through have been truly atrocious. Even when I get someone on the phone to talk to they promise to resolve the situation and then never call back! I am beyond frustrated and want my $270 back! Update: 9/16/23 A bad review got them to refund the money. Before this, I would have recommended Hotel Zetta, and in the end it all worked out. Just took a couple months.

Read along: This is a place where you’ll feel the warm of the people from California. I’ve stayed in a few Viceroy and even thou this is the less fancy, it has the greatest people. I loved the lady on Sunday 3/27/22. She helped with the scooters which by the way is a great perk. The hotel is a bit old and there’s a lot of homeless in tenderloin area but I feel the people and quality compensates. It has a room for improvement specially about walls and towels but it’s pretty ok. I’d stay here again for the people mostly ❤️❤️❤️

My experience at this hotel has been very disappointing, I checked out a day early. The reasoning is: -Service was very poor. We asked for a dog bowl twice and did not receive it, we had to go to the front desk to finally collect it. We asked for hot water and received 2 broken kettles, was promised a working one which never arrived. -when we arrived to our room there were dirty tissues in the bathroom and someone’s old bottle of wine in the mini fridge -the Wi-Fi access code was not available, the front desk did not know it and we did not have access for multiple hours while they tried to figure out what was going on -when we brought this all to the attention of the front desk host on duty at the time she was very understanding and said she would advocate to management for us to receive a refund for the 2nd night with no penalty given our poor experience and that we would be checking out early. Upon speaking with the manager today there was no apology for the poor experience and he was adamant that we would be charged. I asked for the name of the GM of the hotel to speak further and I was told I would not be able to receive his full name While I am a fan of other viceroy properties this has been a very disappointing experience due to many different issues with no path to let us out of the rest of our stay. I will be sharing my experience with Viceroy corporate as well.

The hotel is OK, but much less than I expected when we were selecting it. The lady on the reception was nice to us and offered a free upgrade to our room and some champagne for my birthday but then it appeared that she can't do an upgrade and the room she gave us appeared to have just a single king bed vs a king bed and a couch that we initially booked. And when we raised this they gave us our room with a couch but it smelled quite bad and we decided not to go for another round of changes. And finally at the checkout they charged us extra for room upgrade (which didn't happen), when I asked for a refund it was gladly refunded but no apologies were provided. So all in all, I'd say it's fine but I wouldn't come again and won't recommend it, given there are plenty of other hotels in the same area. The game room though is quite large and we had a great time with pinball machine, billiards and some ball-on-the-wall game.

I would not book this hotel, unfortunately due to rude front desk employees specifically a white woman with her name starting with a Na..she wasn’t empathetic to how dusty the rooms were and I did not need to say my medical condition in order to back up why I felt uncomfortable. I’m understanding if I am staying 2 nights but I was there for a week. Fortunately housekeeper manager and the next morning the front desk morning shift..listened and I felt heard and was helped out again. These two employees saved this place for 2 stars. But never again will stay here

Our stay at Hotel Zetta was wonderful because of the hospitality of the concierge’s at the hotel especially Diane. She truly enjoys her job and loves to share her love with others. The first day she was explaining all the lobby items on how they were made with recyclable items. She then continued to help us how to navigate through the town. She and another concierge helped us on how to plan to go to the Golden Gate bridge by printing out a map for us to use. We had stayed in multiple hotels but this was the first hotel that really showed exceptional service. She and the other concierge’s truly made the San Francisco vacation more enjoyable.

Loved our stay. The check in was super smooth. The rooms were clean. Not very spacious but not insanely small either. The bathrooms however were fairly spacious. Hotel zetta is very close to union square and BART station which helps you get to quite a few places. Would 100% recommend staying here. The staff is also very helpful and friendly.

As someone who loves visiting SF, this is the coolest hotel I’ve stayed in so far! The amenities are amazing - had so much fun shooting pool and playing ping pong. Plus the hotel provides scooters for sight seeing! The thing that really set my stay apart, though, was the impeccable service from Diane! She went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, providing both recommendations and genuinely great conversation. You can tell she takes great pride in her job and cares for her guests. Thanks for a perfect experience, Diane :) Will be back!

I love the hotel vibe, the rooms are nice and high tech but the restrooms are very basic. The amenities and bar downstairs are worth checking out. They even offer free scooters and bikes to guests.

this place looks nothing like the pictures. It looks like they put lipstick on a motel room….the lobby area looks ok but once you get to the rooms they are nasty. I had to ask for a different room because the first one was clearly dirty, linens had stains and the room smelt like body odor. The second room was slightly better but very dusty, walls covered in stains (blood in mine), vents are not cleaned as it was emitting a moldy/spoilt milk smell… I ended up sleeping with the AC off. The final cherry on top of that was the “resort fee” they slam you with on check out which they did not even mention at check in ..all they said that my card as put on hold for incidentals. On checkout I was told I should have read the tiny plaque on the check in counter. For the resort fee you supposedly have a mini bar credit that’s included, if I would have known I would’ve drank the water from the minibar and not gone out of my way to go buy it. At check out I asked if I could get a bottle of water since I have to pay the fee anyways, the lady working the desk told me I’d have to pause check out and go and order it from my room lol honestly i was at a complete loss of words at that point.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Location is excellent for shopping or proximity to Moscone and museums. The room was ok, don't expect much for views or space, that's just the norm unless you are spending significantly more.

Had a great stay at the Hotel Zetta. Staff was great and super helpful. Beds were very comfy and pillows were good. Room was very large and had plenty of room. Area immediately around hotel was fine but a couple blocks away was a little sketchy in the Union Square area. Highly recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Let’s start with the most alarming things. There was a rat in the lobby last night. I verified with the security guard on site who saw the same thing. One of the elevators had an odor (like it was cleaned with a sour mop), and the other just didn’t work. It was like a scary movie. This hotel is more of a decorated hostel vs an experience hotel. The rooms are pretty subpar from pictures and quite dusty (there was actually a purifier in our room to help support air quality ). If you’re on a budget, the hotel isn’t that bad (besides the rats). But if you want a good experience at a clean + functional hotel, go elsewhere. Side note - I told the lady at the front desk there was a rat in the lobby and she didn’t seem to care. But maybe they are just used to those kind of things.

Service was great, front desk staff were friendly. Rooms were not in good condition bed was not as pictured, bathroom dirty. Could tell the room had been used a lot, lots of wear and tear. Location was amazing, building secure.

First room smelled terribly like body odor, but they promptly switched rooms, which was appreciated. None of technology in the room that they advertise about worked, including the “Alexa” type speaker to play music. When called, I was told there was nothing they could do. The website to connect my phone to the tv to play music also did not work. The bar was only open one night during my five night stay. The staff was the best part. They are very friendly. I probably would not stay here again. At the price point I paid ($293 - $384/night), there are much nicer and luxurious hotels in the area.

Overall good place to stay for a quick trip. It’s beautiful with nice lobby and hotel rooms. They can improving cleaning services better as I could see it was dust all around in the room and washrooms. Security wise it’s safe!

CRIME CRIME CRIME!!! I had my e-bike locked up in front of the hotel and caught someone cutting the chain trying to steal it (4pm broad daylight). When I confronted him he bear maced me in the face. When I spoke to the staff asking for help with the police they were rude, disrespectful, and all around difficult to deal with. Avoid this place at all costs.

My room at Hotel Zetta came with a big, comfy bed, a lovely chair, and fresh cans of water. There is no real mini-bar to speak of (you need to order room service), and the bathroom is very sparse on amenities. I also felt like the feng shui was really off - the bed was in what's known as "the dead man's position". The hotel is positioned conveniently but scarily between the Tenderloin and Westfield. Stay on Zetta's side of the road and you should be fine. The staff were lovely and the playroom was very cool! A very safe, enjoyable stay all up.

I would recommend this to anybody I know NOT to book a room here. The service is poor, the room looks out to the bottom of air conditioning vent and garbage, and they have this mandatory charge for gym and facilities that you may or may not use, which is a complete rip off. Yes, they have pretty modern room electronics support but having a noisy room and essentially windowless room for that price definitely not worth it.

Felt like home! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the wonderful front desk manager Diane who was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was nice and the location is great. I don’t think I’ll be staying anywhere else when I’m in the city, highly recommend!

Awesome hotel! Staff was incredible, especially Diane who went out of her way to make us feel welcome for our entire stay. Scooters you get from the hotel were great and game room was super cool. Beds we SO comfortable and a great sized desk for working. All around amazing place to stay and experience San Francisco
