Unfortunately, I had to stay here for 4 nights due to work. Noise: The AC made a lot of noise, I could hear the steps on the floor above mine and couldn't sleep all the nights I stayed here. Every night a dumpster arrived around 11 PM and all the banging, revving can be heard clearly, it's like the walls don't exist - zero sound proofing. I'm still astonished how I managed to function through the entire days without sleeping well even for a single night! Additional Charges: They charge a per night amenity fees, for god knows what, when necessities aren't even in decent condition. Problems: Also, The sink started clogging the second day. I'm not sure of the breakfast situation at other hotels in SF but the Croissants these guys provide are soggy, however, the coffee was good and banana's were fine. But seriously, who winds up breakfast at 9 AM? At least 9:30 would make sense. Quality: Toiletries seemed of bad quality, especially the moisturiser. The room is small and the bathroom is smaller. Every shower meant water flowing into the room. Very dim lighting throughout. Happy hour at the evenings are good but limited to 2 hours - 4 to 6PM. The staff is kind and I appreciate their behaviour. The area seemed fine.

This hotel was recommended by a very good friend. Husband and I stayed here during our 2 days in San Francisco. We met 3 different front desk staff during our stay and all of them were awesome. Lobby was beautiful with quaint furnishings. Room was charming and cute. There was fresh lemon iced water in the lobby and the fortune cookies were yummy. We didn't come down for the complimentary cocktails in the afternoon but we appreciated the coffee in the morning. We had lunches at Chinatown and dinner at Union Square which were both easy walk from the hotel. Best part of the service was they let us check-in our luggage even after we'd already checked-out, so that we could finish our business at the Consulate without having to worry about our luggage. Will definitely stay here again and I recommend.

The negative reviews of this place are silly and off-topic, so I'll go my part to try to rate the hotel how it should be reviewed. Check-in experience: After long flight delays, we arrived after 2am, and the manager of the hotel had taken care of us by checking us in so that our reservation didn't get canceled or have any other problems. Staff was so friendly and helpful, despite the hour. Room (#520): Bigger than expected, modern feel, super clean, no complaints other than I never understood how the A/C unit was supposed to work. Bathroom needed a fan or a little more ventilation, but to be expected with an old building. The 2018 renovation could presumably only do so much. Service: I loved the "housekeeping only when asked" policy, as we didn't need it, I appreciated the privacy it offered. Amenities: Free happy hour drinks in the lobby were nice, and was crowded with a very fun vibe, though the wine options were not very good. Art and decor were so nice for a boutique hotel feel. However, I do think they need to turn down the lobby perfume machine. Neighborhood: Perfectly located near financial district, Union Square, and Chinatown. We walked everywhere so easily and always felt safe, even late at night. Check-out experience: Simple, but staff offered a print or email receipt. They said were going to email my folio and didn't, so I had to email them to get it.

The hotel rooms are good enough. Service is good. What is not good is the breakfast. They say it is a "included continental breakfast", but it was so disappointing. Croissants, bagels, apples and a few muffins options, with orange juice and coffee. No water provided in the breakfast room. Was expecting at least that. Also, I payed the valet parking and my car reported through my phone app that the doors were left unlocked multiple times. Nothing was stolen but still, I got concerned. I talked to front desk but they said it's a safe parking lot. The hotel is decently nice and good location. UPDATE: We checked out and they added a $35 fee a night for β€œamenities”, which included wifi (which said on the website that it was free), the breakfast (which said it was included in the original price), the water filter, a $5 voucher for a shop which they never told us of, and a happy hour that was barely advertised. Would NOT recommend staying here. You can find something better for same or cheaper price. Trust!!

This hotel is nice, but nothing more - the location is right next to Chinatown, which is great, and it is located within walking distance from union square. the rooms are a bit small, and there is no coffee, or any other appliances in the room, there is actually no way to get a cup of coffee in the hotel once they stop serving breakfast. breakfast itself is nice, but nothing fancy - some pastries and fruit, and a bagel, but no hot breakfast. the staff at the hotel are extremely nice. the bottom line - probably a good value for money.

Visited in Oct 2023 and paid approximately $165 per night for a weekend double room. Great boutique hotel for the modest price. Outstanding service. Miranda at the front desk was very responsive and friendly. Close to Union Square and transportation hubs. Will stay here again on my next trip to SF.

Beautiful boutique hotel! Would definitely stay here again. Location is perfect and staff was friendly and helpful. The amenities like continental breakfast and happy hour were great. Having these amenities turned the lobby into a social hub! Which is great because the lobby is gorgeous.

The room was pretty small, but the bathroom was so small you have to step into the shower before you can close the door to use the toilet. And the shower only has half a door. The bed was fairly comfy. The front desk folks were always helpful and friendly, and there is "free" (paid for by the resort fee you pay them) beer and wine 4-6pm daily, as well as coffee and tea service and continental breakfast in the mornings. The entrance is across the street from the entrance to Chinatown, so if you're looking for culture, you'll find it easily. There are also several great non-Chinatown restaurants on the block and surrounding area. I would stay here again, for sure.

The staff and location of this hotel were great! Loved the happy hour drinks they have available from 4-6 each day. The rooms are a bit dated and there were some elements I didn't love. The doors were pretty thin and I could hear everything that happened in the halls. I wasn't super fond of the lighting systems, as most of them were on motion timers, which meant that I would be in bed or in the shower and the lights would turn off, haha.

I stayed here a few years ago when they were undergoing renovations so the lobby was a bit of a mess. I really was only here to sleep because I was in town for business and the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I really love the quirky decor of the hotel and in the rooms as well. It was funky and a nice change from a typical modern, minimalistic hotel.

I absolutely love the Hotel Triton! I was with my mom celebrating my 21st birthday and the staff, especially Andres, made the three days so special!! the location is perfect right outside of the main entrance to China Town! We stay at this hotel every-time we come to SF due to the amazing staff and location. This hotel always hold a special place in my heart! they go above and beyond

This was my second stay at Hotel Triton, my last one was in 2014 before the renovation. You should definitely stay here! The hotel is great! The room itself had a few slightly shabby aspects which made this a 4 rather than 5 star review but the hotel was just as expected for the price, clean with a nice lobby and great amenities. The location is fantastic, right on Bush and Grant, basically in China town, a short walk through Chinatown gets you to North beach, it’s fantastic for work near the market and financial district. The happy hour is a nice addition and I LOVE the cold filtered water dispenser on each floor, drinking bathroom water in hotels grosses me out somehow (anyone else?) Huge shout out to ask the front desk staff, courteous, friendly and well put together.

Wonderful hotel but my only concern is the shower. The glass wall covers half of the shower so the other half allows the water to spray into the bathroom floor and you need to put a towel to avoid it from becoming a puddle and possibly slipping. The faucet was loose too. I understand it's an old building but could spend a little more time paying attention to the details to ensure it's an overall excellent experience which I will definitely return. Great location in downtown San Francisco. Chinatown's Dragon gate is just across the street!

My recent stay at the Triton in San Francisco was nothing short of amazing! My partner and I came to the city for a 49ers game and to explore, and the Triton turned out to be the perfect base for our adventures. Location-wise, this gem is a dream come true. Situated just outside the bustling energy of Chinatown and within a leisurely walk to the iconic piers, the Triton placed us right in the heart of the action. We couldn't have asked for a more convenient spot to soak in the vibrant culture and picturesque views of the city. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the hospitality of the Triton's staff made us feel right at home. Their warmth and friendliness added an extra layer of comfort to our stay, and they were always ready with helpful recommendations for our exploration of the city. One thing that truly stood out was the impeccable cleanliness of the hotel. Our room was spotless, and the attention to detail throughout the entire property was evident. It's always reassuring to stay in a place where cleanliness is a top priority, and the Triton certainly delivered on this front. One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful happy hour in the lobby. It provided a fantastic opportunity to unwind after a day of sightseeing, mingle with fellow travelers, and enjoy some fantastic refreshments. The ambiance was perfect – a great way to transition from the bustling city to the cozy comforts of the hotel. Without a doubt, the Triton will be our go-to choice for accommodation when we return to the Bay Area. The combination of its prime location, welcoming staff, cleanliness, and those memorable happy hours make it a standout choice. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch experience in San Francisco! Can't wait to be back.

My experience was incredible and I attribute it 100% to Robin, the manager at the front desk upon arrival. Big smile, accomodating, and went above and beyond to make sure I had a safe and relaxing evening. The next morning, when she was still working, she even personally made me a coffee and gave a water for the road. The room was good, the reception was incredible. I had a booking issue with a third party application and she went out of her way to speak directly to the application and correct any errors. I owe her so much and I hope she gets a raise or promotion asap. She will be amazing at anything she does.

We were a bit skeptical of staying here during our stay in SF from the reviews. However, it has exceeded our expectations!! Very clean rooms, polite & helpful desk staff, happy hour in the afternoon in the lobby was pretty cool - no other hotel we’ve been at paying fees has offered this. Continental breakfast, coffee & tea every morning. Free fortune cookies from Chinatown across the street!! We arrived and were put into a double bed room and asked a couple hours later if there was an available room with a larger bed and they had no hesitation to change our room to a king bed! Easily walkable to many places, we felt very safe walking around morning or night - which was my biggest concern. Park at The White House Parking garage for $42USD a night (in and out privileges) and your car will be very safe!!! It is about a 2 minute walk to the hotel on the same street. Overall will stay here again if I’m in SF, what a great stay we had

The room although a bit small, is clean and nicely decorate it. The staff is very nice and helpful. I was skeptical initially to book this hotel due to the rating on Google, but the positive reviews made me decide to go for it and I am happy with my decision. The location is great.

We stayed here on vacation in San Francisco for five nights and I'd say it's definitely a solid 3 star experience. The pros are cute hotel and decor, great location especially for shopping and restaurants and staff are friendly and super helpful. The rooms are small but that wasn't much of a problem, AC unit in the window was a little finicky so the room was often warmer and more humid than we would have liked. The room cleaning is by request which is fine but the second time we requested the room to be cleaned it didn't happen so that was a little annoying. Also the drain in the shower got easily clogged and quickly turned into a little shower pool, maybe if they were able to clean the room that wouldn't have happened. Would I book here again, probably yes, plus there is complimentary wine and beer in the afternoon so that's always a plus.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding weekend, along with family and friends in 15 other rooms. We had such a great experience! The rooms were very nice and clean, the front desk workers were so helpful at all times, and the location is excellent! I've only heard good things from our friends and family who also stayed here with us. I firmly recommend Hotel Triton to anyone looking for a place to stay in San Francisco!
